I have attended Mini Maestros with both of my children for 3 years so far. They absolutely love it and have learnt so many skills and knowledge about music. My son was extremely shy but has thrived in the classes and built confidence over time. The teachers have always been so engaging and seem to absolutely love their job. Would definitely recommend!

A wonderful programme
Michelle is wonderful with little ones, patient and perceptive. The programme is very well structured with plenty of creative activities. I'm in the sixth term now, and my 3 year old grandchild still loves it. I can see how his confidence has blossomed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with mini maestro’s Greensborough. Danielle was very welcoming, kind and made each class so much fun. I was a bit unsure whether we would get much out of a short class but after a few classes my son loved playing with instruments, listening to the singing and songs and simply just watching everything that happened throughout class. It was a highlight each week for us. I would highly recommend!!

We love Lisa
Both my granddaughter and myself thoroughly enjoyed our first term of mini maestros at Doncaster/Templestowe.
Tilly learned a lot and loved all the activities and literally soaked it all up.
She talks about Lisa every time she sees the yellow mini maestro's bag and we sing one of the songs.
The half an hour goes so quickly. I would love it to be 45 mins rather than 30 but understand 30 mins is most suitable for the age group of our little ones attending.

Fantastic experience!
Fantastic experience for myself as a dad, and my 14 month old daughter. It was so fantastic to see her engagement and activity recognition grow with each class.
Our teacher Danni at the Montmorency classes was magnificent. She has such a wonderful way with the kids, the voice of an angel, and she spoke to the kids on their level (and still made it fun for the parents too!).
Would recommend these classes to any first time parents in particular - the structure and element of play really helped me find my own way of communicating with my daughter as well - fun and play!

Friendly people, not worth it experience
Friendly and talented people, but not worth it. Can do the same thing at home. Especially not for a 1 year old. The sessions are very short, and it’s a lot of just watching the teacher play music and sing. By the time you drive there, get the kids out, go in, sit, pack up leave etc. It’s a whole ordeal for not much value at all.

You're absolutely right that many of the songs and activities in our classes are ones you can continue at home — and that's entirely by design! As you would have experienced, we also include percussion instruments, props, puppets and dancing in every class. Our classes are built to give parents and carers a rich repertoire of music, movement, and rhymes to weave into daily life with their little one. The class is really just the beginning.
What makes Mini Maestros different from singing at home, though, is the social learning environment. At this age, babies and toddlers absorb a great deal simply by watching other children and carers around them — they join in when they are developmentally ready, and that peer exposure is something that simply can't be replicated at home.
Our program is also carefully sequential. Our babies and young toddler classes are specifically designed to build an appreciation for music through unconscious learning activities, while also giving the primary carer the confidence to share music with their child at home. Every activity has been chosen with your child's developmental goals in mind — nothing is incidental. This foundation quietly builds the neural pathways that support language, listening, and emotional development, so that as children move into our toddler and preschool classes, the learning that was happening beneath the surface starts to become beautifully visible.
For our 1-year-olds, watching and listening is the learning. At this stage, young children absorb an enormous amount simply by being immersed in a rich musical environment with their carer close by. What looks like "just watching" is actually quite active from a developmental perspective!
We hear you on the logistics of getting out the door with a little one — it's no small feat! When we called to follow up on your trial classes, you'd said our venue was too far from where you live and it was too difficult for you to continue. We recognise that it is important to find a class that is simple to get to and fits around your little one's sleep schedule.

Beautiful staff
The staff were very friendly and engaging. I felt that the experience could have been enhanced with a more engaging setting. It was great to go to to help your baby socialise and become confident around others. The songs, props, music, instruments and dance made the experience educational and fun!

Brilliant time for the whole family
Just O'Neill is so lovely and engaging and my daughter has such a fun time, and loves singing the songs together when we're at home too. Judy has also been so kind inviting us to make up lessons when my daughter has been sick and unable to attend. We love Mini Maestros!
