Zero Stars – Extremely Disappointing Service

I had a very disappointing experience with Megaretailer. I paid extra for Express Delivery, expecting my order to arrive much faster. Instead, it was delivered even later than the standard delivery time.
Charging customers an additional fee for express delivery and then failing to provide the service is unacceptable. It feels like I paid extra for nothing.
This experience has been frustrating and has completely undermined my confidence in the company. I would not recommend Megaretailer based on my experience, and I hope they improve their delivery service and treat customers more fairly.
If the review site allows only star ratings, I would give 1 star, since many platforms don't support a 0-star rating.

We would like to clarify that your order was placed on Saturday, 4 July. As stated on our website, we do not process or dispatch orders over the weekend, so your order entered processing on the next working day and was packed within the first two working days of processing.
Unfortunately, based on the tracking information, your parcel was delayed while in transit with the courier. We sincerely apologise for this unexpected delay and the inconvenience it caused. While this was outside of our direct control, we understand how frustrating it must have been, especially after selecting Express Delivery.
As a gesture of goodwill, we have already provided a discount to help make up for the inconvenience.

Did my first order which was expensive…
Did my first order which was expensive for the postage because of the amount.
It was 4 boxes. Took a few days to come with I received 2 boxes, had to email which wasn’t easy to get across the point I’d only received 2 boxes, then they came a few days later.
Items were drinks so a few were damaged but not bust, some of the bags of crisps were stale or at least like they’d been exposed to oxygen so had to throw them away.
After paying £20-£30 for the postage not incredibly impressed with everything, prices were okay but not fantastic.
Just a honest review.

Couldn't find my father in laws shandy in stock anywhere then came across Mega Retailer who had them in stock and delivered a few days later. Great price, delivery a bit steep but not as bad as some.

What is the point of taking an order and then cancelling it the next day ? What a waste of my time and so I'll shop elsewhere.

Second time ordering
Second time ordering. First order was missing an item but was very quickly refunded. Second time I ordered it came within 2 days and was kindly given a free energy drink. Will definitely be ordering again
