I am giving 1 star because they have failed their client base immensely in 2025 by increasing their annual subscription plan to nearly $1,000 per year. This is full 350% increase YoY. I rarely leave negative reviews but this is warranted. Not only are they doing this with no additional features unlocked, but they refuse to have any sympathy through their live chat. They stand firm on this price hike which leave many freelancers scrambling to find a new software. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic service. But this is why I am choosing the 1-star.

WOW! Markup.io just went up 280% from last year to this year. Markup has sent a strong message that the businesses who helped them build, can take a flying f'

- No feature upgrade to justify the dramatic increase.
- No communication with customers about the increase.
- Completely removed Free and Small Buinsess teirs.
- No grandfathering for businesses who have supported them for years, no discount, no loyalty bonus...nothing but.... Pay the 280% upgrade, or they DELETE your entire space and all projects. No archives, no grace period, nothing.
Do NOT trust your client projects to Markup.io. Their business model is not trustworthy and they will pull the rug out from under you if it benefits their bottom line.

Does Markup.io offer a great service? Yes, it works very well. However, their recent price hike, coupled with the removal of the free plan, is unacceptable. It doesn't account for businesses of different sizes or solo/small entrepreneurs.

Price changes are understandable, but this move feels very anti-consumer and harmful to small businesses. Why not offer a limited free tier or multiple pricing options to accommodate businesses of all sizes, from large corporations to solo entrepreneurs?

Instead, they’ve removed features from the free plan progressively, culminating in a single $79/month charge. In the age of subscriptions, this is a heavy ask, especially for designers who likely already pay for other subscriptions, like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, web hosting, and more.

I loved this product, but this change is really disappointing... and honestly unacceptable.

Great platform, until they jack up the price without any communication from $29 USD to $79 USD. They just decide they can charge whatever price without your consent or awareness, a very shady business.

Used to be a loyal user of this platform but they've since changed their pricing to a once-size fits all claiming that the Pro plan is suitable for individuals / freelancers when it's not. You can't put individuals / students / freelancers in the same bucket as large organisations with 10 staff. Great product but recent pricing shift has resulted in us going elsewhere.

$29 and the workspace doesn't even load into the live website so all work is double handled! Not very smart eh! The $29 a month attracts payment fees from UK banks each month as its a foreign payment. And lastly their cancellation process of a farce. We recommend looking at other platforms if you are in the UK.

Love the tool because it enables us streamline the feedback process.

However, it's not the most responsive, and comments disappear from time to time.
