One star is still too many!

My experience with Design Stallion has been the worst! I now have to rebuild my website and customer base from scratch because my website no longer works. Long story, but it's worth sharing. To start it took them more than a year to build my website. I was asked to provide input which I did (pictures, sample ideas of how I wanted theme and branding, content, etc.) I provided the information, unfortunately the project manager wound up passing away. I completely understood the delay given such a major tragedy and loss. However, when I finally got connected with another Project manager I was asked to provide all the information again. That should have been easy except, I communicated with them through their teamwork platform (as they requested) and no one could locate the info I provided. Fast forward, I was connected with a manager named Jeff Ross, he upsold me and made many promises that would later not be honored. At the end, I paid for two websites and two logos but only received one website and corresponding logo. I asked for a refund many times and was told they would not provide a refund. Additionally, the website they did provide was subpar and stopped working. I wound up missing clients because I couldn't access my websites email. I reached out to get the credentials but by that time, the clients already selected another vendor. Fast forward to this year, all pictures and major content disappeared from the website. I contacted them again and was told they would fix the website in 24 hours. After 3 conversations I was finally told that I needed to pay more money for my website to work, but they would send me all the credentials to move my site to my own hosting because I had fully paid for the site. After I didn't receive the information I contacted them again and was told that they couldn't give me the website because they didn't know the hosting credentials. They confirmed that their company set up the hosting but no one recorded or provided the credentials to me. So basically, my small business fell apart without online presence. If I want to rebuild I will need to purchase a new domain name and rebuild my brand. This company is predatory, they lie and they are not upfront about what you need to do or pay in order to maintain your website with them. They ruined my business from a website perspective. I can't even give out my business cards because the website and the associated email does not work. So terribly disappointing and debilitating for small business owners. Design Stallion takes advantage at every turn. I do not recommend. At this point, all I want is the credentials to the website I paid for so I can move on and I can't even get that.

Do not give them any money!

Well for the rest of the review just look at Raena W.'s review. This is after that whole mess went down.

I believe this stuff started in June after the blow up with Daniel Fernandez.

We were contacted by a Sam Siddiq and he said that it was best to work with him as we were not going to get a refund because they had already closed out our project as completed when they did not complete it and he was going to be the saving grace of getting our project done. $18,000 gone. This company is a bunch of scammers that over promise and take your money and then produce nothing and pass you around "project managers" and they will not listen and then gas light you into thinking they did something good for you. When we mentioned getting a lawyer, a threat was made of countersuing us and that they have powerful lawyers and basically it will go no where.

Sam mentioned he did not have the authority to approve a refund and when I asked to speak to someone who could he said I can take it on authority of his rejection of a refund and we would not be getting one.

So, if they ever promise a 100% money back guarantee, just know that is not at all true. They lie out of both sides of their mouths and please, please, please, DO NOT EVER GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!! It will be gone. They say you must sue them in New Jersey and that is so weird that the company that is based in New Jersey has you mail the payments to TECHMATE, LLC in Texas! Watch out for this one and avoid like the plague. Be better than us that fell for this scam!

I would be very wary of anyone giving this company anything more than 1 star.

Just wanted to add one more thing when I went to request a refund by contacting their "customer service" using their "contact" link on their website, it 504 Gateway timed out.

UPDATE 01/01/25:
They are now saying, after months of not responding to me asking for updates, that the project was under audit and they were unable to talk to me during this time. Ha!

Also, they are setting a new deadline and that everything will be done and the HARD FINAL date would be June 30th. Then what, refund when they fail again to complete our project? Nope, they will just close it. So, where is my money? Where is my project? Eh, who knows?

But, here is the kicker! If I chose to not continue to work with them and do not take down my reviews, they will consider the project abandoned, BY ME!!!! Hahahahah! Please people never, ever trust these people with anything!!!

So this is the scam, they take your money promising everything. Then they become impossible to work with, never make the meetings for whatever reason, you get frustrated and want a refund, they refuse and say it is better to work with them than seek any sort of legal recourse because they have powerful lawyers so you try again and again and then when they get no where on their promises and you get to the point of why even continue, THEY claim YOU abandoned YOUR project and they do not need to refund you. THIS IS THEIR SCAM!!!

This includes the gaslighting of how he has worked tirelessly to complete the project even though he now claims that the original information was incomplete.

We held many meetings before sending money to clarify the full scope of the project and everything it was to have and they delivered on nothing. Then when I call out the generic stuff he sent me after HIS time working on the project was some Figma templates, he says that hurt his feelings. Trying to blame me for his inability. This was after he tried to redo the original contract by making a ChatGPT form that we recreated almost word for word when we tried it because we thought it read weird and seemed AI. Figma, by the way, is like Canva but has some coding hidden that they can use the coding for colors and spacing. It was nothing special. But again, trying to blame us for the project stalling by saying the company will not give him the resources because these reviews may deter future clients. GOOD! BECAUSE NO ONE SHOULD EVER HIRE THEM EVER!

Be better than me. I have a feeling I will never get my refund and never get my project completed by them. They have failed so much. It is heart breaking because the project was to help so many people that are like my family with special needs children. And now, I am $18,000.00 poorer.

Live and learn. When you need to mail a check to Texas to a house (I still have the address of this house as well) for a company in New Jersey to talk with someone in Florida. RUN!!!

Customer Service Experience

I recently experienced two very difficult issues associated with my website. The first was a malware attack, which caused my website to be blacklisted. With the holidays and a very important craft show coming up, the team understood the urgency to get this resolved. They recommended updates to my security certificate, installed a virus protection plugin and were able to get everything resolved within 72 hrs. They worked quickly in what was a very stressful time for me.
The second issue was when my domain expired. Again, they worked quickly to renew and have my website fully functioning. I worked closely with Daniel F. for both issues. He was very patient and totally understood my concerns, treating this with urgency.

Can only do simple websites

We started with Design Stallion in August of 2022. They quoted us for a progressive web application. Promised custom coding in multiple languages done by their in-house experts and programmers. I spoke to Shane, who was very friendly and a very good salesman. I spent a lot of time talking to him and asking specific questions, especially are they familiar with nutritional databases. I spoke to the designer Alejandro who listened and said yes they could do everything we are asking. They quoted 6 months, and I paid $18,000.
1. They put our project with Joe, and I spent hours discussing it with him and sharing what we wanted done.
2. Within a few weeks, I was told he was being promoted and they put us with Jax. Jax was not sent any of the emails or description of the program at all, so I started over and spent a ton of time explaining it all to him. He was good about meeting when he said he would and was polite. The design went way off the wall in June, they showed me a build and it was all wrong. Many things I never asked for. I straightened them out I thought. Jax was polite through all of it, and I was disappointed in the lost months, but they assured me it would be back on track.
3. Then a week later, Jax was promoted. I started with Anna. Once again, she was told nothing, it was like I was starting over again. I spent a long time talking to her about it and re-sent all the emails. She is not a good listener and talked over me. She never understood the project or tried to. Is extremely unprofessional. She no showed 5 or 6 times for meetings. I complained about this for the first time.
4. They put me then with Enza, who said she was a supervisor. Once again, I updated her completely on the project and she also talked over me instead of listening and I never felt confident. In the few updates I had, things were not right, and she was so aggressive. She would rather tell me how the app was supposed to work rather than listen to the person who invented it. It wasn’t just functional things, she just wanted it her way. She also no showed frequently and would not answer a single direct question. I asked to speak to the developer, and not be with any more middle representatives. I could tell by the work, they weren’t being told the right things.
5. Then I was moved to Daniel. He said he is the developer and has 10 years’ experience. He assured me everything I am asking for can be done. This was November of 2023 a year into our 6-month promise. He assured me I was speaking to the person I could trust, and he was going to get the job done. I believed him and felt reassured. He listened well, and I once again had to resend all the files and explain the app fully. Then he pretty much disappeared. I stopped getting updates, and he would finally answer only to no show for meetings. He was always very stressed and very busy, but when we would talk, he reassured me, and I believed in him. As he asked, I sent a list of about 20 things that still needed corrected. Some super small and easy to fix, and some larger functional issues. It took over a month to schedule the meeting because he kept needing to delay it, but he kept promising it was done. We had the meeting and only 1 maybe 2 things of the 20 were completed. It was a bigger one, but nothing else was addressed.
We are 18 months in and it’s a mess. He lost it, yelling and out of nowhere he said he refuses to address anything or work on the app until I sign a form saying I am happy with all the work and will not ask for a refund. He was screaming at me demanding I sign it. He said the app is done. But it is not! I can’t sign saying it is good when it isn’t. Then he lied and said I never asked for these things. Then he demanded to launch the website and fix things later. It makes no sense; it is not even functional. I have asked for the same things from every person I dealt with, and him specifically. I have all the emails. I demanded a refund. I asked for the owner to call me and he has not.
They completely over promised and cannot do custom coding. If your app doesn’t fit within a simple template, they cannot do it. If I get any kind of resolution, I will change my review. Otherwise, they will see us in court, where I have proof of all the communication.

We have been asking for a refund for 2 weeks. I am not sure who responded to this review, but we have not been contacted by the owner, do not have a website or our money back.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, and they lie.

This is my third review. I keep writing them because the company keeps having them taken down.
This company built me a website. There were problems from the start, but it finally got up and running. We did well for about 6 months. Then, web traffic greatly diminished, and spam bots and profane messages started popping up when you would visit the site.
At first my manager denied any responsibility, then later they decided they would offer a partial refund. I have email documentation of the offer. Unfortunately, this company deals in texts that you can't trace, and phone calls, so documentation is difficult to come by. Below is the initial email confirming a refund. Nothing has been done, nothing has been sent, although they claim they sent it the next day. STAY AWAY.

Disappointed!

I wanted to wait to see how my website was working before providing a review. This company is not the most experienced in doing a website neither the most honest. They will give you a price but after you sign up with them, they will come later and tell you oh you need other pages to be added with other cost or you can do it yourself. It took them a long time to complete the job. A 2 weeks job took over 2 months. We were going back and forth with mistakes from their side, mistakes as grammar errors! Unbelievable from a professional website designer! Can’t believe they wouldn’t catch those and other very minor and easy to detect mistakes. At this time the website has no good ranking due to the lack of key words (which they promised they will add) and also, in the website, if clients try to contact me sending me an email, the option doesn’t work at all. Short story: DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL! Paid for just an elaboration of website and that’s it. And for this, I paid a lot of money.

I hired design stallion to do a website…

I hired design stallion to do a website for me. They did an initial call and then sent a mark up website with some pictures on it.

The website itself came back in German. They also were saying I needed a dedicated server and ask for additional dollars.

When I disagree they continue to push, I asked about a refund and was told no. They kept giving issues about turn over and tried to guilt me about a refund and they last guy said he would send me a refund out of his salary if I sent him my bank account number.

l have asked multiple times for a refund or an escalated contact and they would not provide any details.

I sent an demand text for a refund based off the 100% money back guarantee and not received anything.

I would not do any business with this company.

Update have continue to ask for a refund or valid contact information for my complaint. Their response to me was to take down my review on trust pilot. They have not provided a refund or any contact information.

I did file a dispute with Mastercard and with my supporting documentation was able to obtain a refund. I have had no more correspondence from design stallion or the person below.

When you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t trust people

I started a business relationship with design starting in February; I wanted them to build out a Wix site for a small business. Their sales person made it sound like it was a simple thing to do. When they connected me with a project manager, a guy by the name of Tony Walker; he told me it be easy. Within a week he was complaining about how he doesn’t like to work with Wix. He doesn’t like the platform and how it doesn’t give him freedom to develop in the way that he’s used to. He sold me on the idea of using WordPress to build a website, and design Stallion would host it. He said he could complete the Wix site, so I took a shot on him invested a little over $4000 and within three months nothing was done.I completing the Wix site, he never built the WordPress site template to my wishes; at this point when he personally decided to build his own website, I want my money back. Design Stallion would not refund me my money by the end of four months, a guy by the name of Mark Allen , under honesty and integrity made a refund deal, design stallion would refund $1974 in 48 hours to me, all I had to do is cancel the dispute with my credit card company; a written contract was never made. He never emailed me any of the details of our agreement is all verbal; I trusted the man. I canceled my dispute in good faith,; to which you cannot re-open a dispute with a credit card. I am naïve and I believe in people, but they never had my interest in mind. They saw a sucker and they took advantage of me. That’s my fault. I have lost faith in any online website builders; design STallion has no integrity. They will manipulate you and use you if they get the chance.

There is no such thing as Simple, a website creation process is not without its challenges, as the field involves continuous learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking, to create something visually appealing. Obviously a Wordpress website has its own perks as a more customized platform rather than WiX, perhaps this was the message that was conveyed to you by your Project Manager Toni Walker but was perceived in a negative manner by Michael Hall.
As far as refund our policies clearly state non will be entertained once the website is Published (LIVE) online, in your case your website is LIVE by your approvals on the record.
Please Note additional services purchased from Design Stallion was due to the results of our work and trust we build. It could be that what made you purchase those add on of services.
As a design agency we to keep a good faith for our customers and in our Project Mangers who continue to serve Design Stallion clients in a professionally.
We will be more than happy to assist you and resolve any further complication over the website. Perhaps if you would communicate with us or we can reach out to you to further deliver your project in a much more satisfactory manner.
