Very expensive

Booked delivery for Monday - accepted that delivery would be anywhere between 8am and 5pm - company called at almost 3.30pm to say it wouldn’t be delivered could they deliver at 9.00am - 9.30am next day - ok stuff happens at least it’ll be here in the morning to get going on my job - it’s now just before 11.00 am no sign of them and no call to say what’s happening. Just called them which goes through to a different company who say yes we’ve got your delivery on a van that is at least an hour away and no definite idea of time it’ll arrive so hopefully sometime today - If I had trades lined up this would be a nightmare - think I’ll be working very differently next time

Joke of a company! Tried to rent a tool for a weekend on Friday which says in stock. Rung the customer service who told me they don’t actually keep the tools they try get them from other places. They left it til half 4 to tell me they cant get it till Monday. which left me no time to try other places. The money was refunded but lost hundreds of pounds worth of work due to stupid company set up… don’t rent tools you don’t even have mammoth!!! Advise you never use these clowns wouldn’t trust them to make me a pot noodle

Ordered a piece of equipment only to be told they have limited suppliers in the area and the ones we do have currently cannot offer this piece of kit and cannot provide a date when they can. Was told they would process a refund, I haven't had any joy in recieving it.

No communication, no confirmation , no invoice, did not even know if the equipment was going to be delivered. Only knew payment had been taken by contacting the credit card company. Will not be using Mammoth hire again which appears to be another name or is part of National hire. A third party company supplied the equipment.

Placed ‘same day’ order with extra cost for a 2 day hire. No contact from Mammoth other than confirmation of payment.

Impossible to contact ( telephone service self-disconnects and web-chat not operating). Requested contact to cancel by email. Nothing heard other than an auto email to provide a code to categorise my request’.

Later that day heard from another Hire firm that they had sourced the order too and who said could supply next day. Still nothing from Mammoth except a standard ‘you’re about to come ‘off-hire….’ email one day early.

Mammoth have take my money and not responded. In every respect it feels like a scam although from the other reviews and as a sub-brand of National Tool Hire I guess it’s just terrible incompetence.

Life’s too short. Avoid at all costs.

Did not deliver when required, although booked two weeks ahead of need.

No delivery on specified date and then no communication or able to get hold of anyone to chase

If I had read the reviews on this company no way would I have tried to rent a tool, website stated the tool I was after was available for the sat morning I even paid extra to get it before 1pm, received an email saying tool I was after not available till midweek when I am away with work! Totally delayed the work

Tried to hire from you because it said the plant equipment was available but I was let down with it and your actually national tool hire where I was let down by them multiple times hence i came to you but your actually the same company .

I hired a floor sander through Mammoth, no information was supplied as to where I needed to pick up the hired equipment. I was not able to get I contact with Mammoth even tho they had charged me. Do not use this company, just go to a local tool hire in your area. Mammoth just calls them up and places an order on your behalf anyway whilst charging you extra.

The cement mixers were delivered as promised and everything seems to be working well .

Unable to meet my order in an acceptable timeframe. Had to cancel and go elsewhere. Got the same products for half the price.

Poor service communication, failed to deliver, although online booking said available for dates required. Request a full refund due to inability to provide tools purchasing, awaiting refund. Let me down on a large contract. 2nd time now. Will not be a 3rd

Although they did reimburse the money quickly, they messed up my work as there were not able to supply the hire good.

The product was not delivered on the agreed date with no notification that there was a problem.
Took a day off work to recieve the delivery which turned out to be a wasted day

This is now the second time your company, along with your subsidiary, National Tool Hire - has mishandled our order. The repeated delays, untimely communication, and disorganisation have caused serious disruptions to our operations.

As a small family-run business, we rely on timely and professional service from our suppliers. Your actions have not only disrupted our project schedule but have also damaged our reputation, leading our customer to question our reliability. This is completely unacceptable.

We have documented all the issues, correspondence, and the resulting impact on our business. I will be filing formal complaints with Trading Standards, the Ombudsman, and Companies House. I will also make our experience public in all the social media and review platforms to ensure other small businesses are aware of the risks of working with your company.

Your poor handling of this situation reflects a serious lack of professionalism and business ethics. While you may be a large company, your treatment of small businesses is deeply disappointing and far below industry standards.

If you are a small business, do not use this company - They don't really care.
