A first timer with Magnet - just signed up. Of course, the real test if I ever need to make a claim! So hopefully will not experience that! (One claim in 30+ years!) But initial contact, policy, docs etc all very positive and user-friendly! So happy on all counts! Thank you!

I've looked over your renewal and can see that a remarketing exercise had been carried out to ensure it was the most competitive quotation we could obtain. Please accept our apologies as this may not have been clearly communicated to you in our correspondence. We had gone to several different insurers who were unfortunately more expensive than your current provider.
We are unfortunately seeing big increases across the market due to high inflation pushing up premiums. Increases are on average increasing between 20-30% and as a broker, we send out the most competitive premiums available to us on our panel. Once again please accept our sincere apologies if this wasn't communicated with you clearly and we hope next year the market would have settled down and we can find something more competitive.

The issue is price
The issue is price. An £80 increase, even with the recent inflation figures, would seem excessive. However, I am restricted in which companies will insure me due to a previous subsidence claim being dealt with by my previous insurer. Given that subsidence is excluded from my current policy and my otherwise claim free history I would have thought I was considered as a low risk customer with fees to match.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We do apologise for the increase in premium. As a broker we do check our panel of insurers for any alternatives if the premium increases are higher than last year with current insurers. Unfortunately, insurance premiums have increased across the market on an average of 20-30% other insurers on the panel were higher than your current provider. With the current open subsidence claim we were unfortunately restricted to specialist insurers in addition to this. Hopefully the claim will be closed next year and we will be able to find a cheaper alternative for you and we appreciate you renewing with ourselves this year.
