A horrible experience
I have now given up ever getting my £1000 deposit back from Lux motorhomes. Thankfully the deposit was paid using my credit card. Therefore, I have had this reimbursed by my credit card company who are now making a claim against Lux Motorhomes. In the meantime, I have also submitted a claim within companies house for the directors to be investigated.
Our whole holiday from start to finish was a complete nightmare. There were numerous issues with the van which made it a horrible experience. When we were driving, one of the securing nuts which fix the bed to the railing, sheared, recoiled off the table and hit my 3-year old in the face.
5 days into our holiday, the motorhome broke down which meant we were stranded on the North Coast of Scotland for 2 days, with limited food, water, and gas. Thankfully, a hire car was sent to us so that we could drive home.
To Lux Motorhomes credit, they did reimburse me the full approx £2,500 for the van due to the breakdown and also for the campsites we missed out on. This money appeared in my bank account approx 2 weeks after the transaction.
However their behaviour with regards to my £1000 deposit has been disgraceful. The only communication I have received is 2x phone calls from Donald and 2x emails explaining that the reason for the situation was due to their credit card company holding onto a number of deposits. I attempted to call Lauren countless times but no response.
These people are not fit to operate a company ever again. Hopefully my claim submitted to companies house helps with this.
