Lothian Buses Omdömen 

I love Lothian Buses, they are accessible (wheelchair user), the drivers are mostly very friendly and helpful, my buses generally turn up on time, couldn't ask for better. The buses are always clean first thing (can't legislate for manky people who drop their litter etc everywhere throughout the journey). I've not used their customer services, I've never had to, so can't comment on that. I think they're doing a great job.

As a social care worker who works on rota basis and in the community I rely on the buses to get me from a to b I have found that lrt buses have not moved with the times . We need a regular bus service not only from Monday to Friday but in the evenings and the weekends but have found this is not the case last night I waited on a bus for nearly a half hour when a number 16 bus was supposed to arrive at 20.01pm at pier place Newhaven which did not arrive and the number 200 bus was due at 20.10pm which never arrived at pier place Newhaven Edinburgh either. And the government want us to ditch our cars to either walk or use public transport for the environment well clearly that's not going to happen unless lrt provide the public with a much better transport service not only for Monday to Friday but in the evenings and at the weekends. Lrt 's bus service is shocking at the moment the buses are either late or not in service or lrt buses just don't turn up on the times that are provide by lrt bus at there stops and online . Shocking service .lrt need to move with the times we need better and more frequent service Monday to Sunday morning and evenings. Lrt are not the only ones working weekends and evenings. The lrt bus just got even worse today I was waiting on a bus on ferry road Edinburgh across from Morrisons the 21 bus was due according LRT time tables at 9.36 I'm still standing at the bus stop at 9.45am the 27 was due at 946am and again that bus never turned which left me late for getting to a patient the lrt bus service is absolutely diabolical in Edinburgh. I have a driving licence however I had an old car so decided to get it scrapped as the low emission zone is coming in next year so I thought I'd give the buses a go and try to be environmentally responsible well I've had enough of the dreadful lrt bus service in the evenings and the weekends I'm going to purchase another car. LRT buses service dreadful they haven't moved with the times there is more and more of the public working in the evenings and weekends let need get there act together and provide the public with a much better transport service at the weekends and in the evenings.

Bus 24 , 8:20 am , citibank debit card tapped, card reader display light shown red , The transaction was claimed unsuccessful , then i paid by Llyod card successfully. But checked it still charged my citibank card.

I have lived in Edinburgh all my life and have never experienced such rude bus drivers, as I have since the lockdown/brexit.
Who are they employing? They won’t even make eye contact, let alone speak.
At approx 2pm today I was running for the 37 heading into town outside sofology at Straiton. I was with my 5 year old granddaughter who was feeling unwell. There was nothing else on the road so as I was running and a few metres from the bus stop, I waved my arm, evidently for him and he drove past me. Absolutely no other distractions, he was purely being cruel and thoughtless. Horrible man. We had 30 minutes to wait for another bus.
I must point out I’ve met a few lady drivers who have been excellent

Great services throughout edinburgh. I get a number of different bus services for work and they are all well timed and spaced out. They made some changes with the 30 bus but for my use it worked out better than it was before. Drivers are always cheerful and happy to help. Don't miss driving and looking for parking spots in edinburgh!

This review is no reflection on the drivers cause most are brilliant and put up with alot of crap. But the service is shocking I was looking to walk and bus to work and stop using my car but no chance! I have 1 bus the 31 and the service is abysmal busses missing, late or just don't come at all. If you want people to ditch their cars ur gonna have to do one he'll of alot better than the abysmal service u put on now and u have the cheek to hike the prices as well. What a joke of a service.

I would give 0 if I could. timetables are just ridiculous. There are two buses going same time or one after another and then 40 minutes nothing. I take number 14 because that’s the only bus that goes to the area where I live. I would expect better service especially around 5 pm when people are coming back from work but NO!!! one bus every half and hour and then 2 buses one after another. After waiting such a long time it’s not even going to Greendykes!! but to Prestonfield. Where is sense and logic in that!!! People should be able to have at least one bus every 20 min if you live in Edinburgh. Total shambles!!!!

Normally I would give Lothian buses 5 stars as have always found them reliable from Marchmont (24 and 41). Today I went for the 41 to find it had changed to a 9 and no longer went via George Iv bridge and Hanover street. This means that older people in marchmont and 41 route have no access to the library , market street for Waverley train station and Marks and Spencer’s for shopping. What infuriates me is that there was no local consultation about this. I went to Lothian buses site to complain to them but it certainly wasn’t clear how to achieve this from their site. Bring back the 41 route please. Shirley

25 never arrives at all these days. If they do, they are always 15-20 min later than usual as seen on their dashboards. Tragic.

I rarely use Lothian buses for good reason. Most often running behind schedule and as always two come along together. Please avoid if you want to get somewhere on time.

It's May very hot outside why the bus driver no switch off heating I'm old and fell like fall down why they not care about old people

This is actually a joke. They increased the prices from £60 to £66 but you get nothing for that price. It takes ages to get from A to B because all the buses pretty much leave at the same time or you see the connecting bus in front of you trying to get on it but the driver despite loads in the stop doesn’t let you to get off to catch the other one saying it’s not safe or they lose their license. If you stop in that bus stop how the hell you can’t let that poor person to get on his/her connecting bus? Or there is a diversion going across on a given street but they aren’t serving any stops. It’s nonsense. Not to mention once I almost collapsed because my blood sugar dropped but they wouldn’t let me get off to get some fresh air. Or you see men for the football match are getting on but the driver wouldn’t take my pregnant friend with her heavy bag. Not sure what kind of rules are they running but it’s actually appalling!

Wednesday I paid £5 for a day ticket inside Edinburg and the bus driver did something mistake & even though my £5 was gone but still again I had to pay £2 for one travel & then again I paid another £2 for return where I went.altogether I paid £9 in the travel & that bus driver said I am going to get my refund on Thursday which was yesterday but I still didn’t receive refund for £5.now what I need to do??bad experience with the service

On a 37 bus travelling to Penicuik tonight the driver was so lovely looking after a lady who fell asleep on the bus after maybe to much alcohol. He was genuinely looking after the passanger and looked up the area she lives to make sure she was safe. Well done, an absolute credit to your company.

Unreliable bus service in the weekend in Morningside, buses either don’t turn up at all (especially no. 36) or turn up late and stop in a different bus stop for 15 minutes, literally 2 stops after getting on the bus (no. 23). Took me nearly an hour to go from 1 part of Morningside to another. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Please don’t use the bus service in the weekend if you live in the South of Edinburgh!!!!

Lrt service 14, I have a disability that makes it difficult to leave my home abf travel using public transport. I use as few buses as possible on my journeys abd chose to live close to a bus stop with a direct route to the centre of Edinburgh. This service no longer goes to greendykes and the new estates nearby. I now have to walk 15 minutes to get to niddrie Road due to roadworks. Or alternatively get a 21 48 or 400 and then get off at the wisp junction and wait for a bus to get me to Edinburgh centre. Neither of these solutions are helpful health wise, causing me severe stress If the 21 48 and 400 can be diverted via the wisp why can't the 14. Or alternatively the Road works could close one lane of traffic and put up temp traffic lights, although this is probably due to the ineptitude of Edinburgh council. This situation is totally unacceptable but demonstrates how lrt and Edinburgh council have no interest in the general public abd especially those with disabilities.

As much as I love Edinburgh, something needs to change about the bus system, one of the worst I've experienced around the world. Buses are constantly late, miss stops completely, stop in the wrong place (apparently the bus drivers don't know when stops change, such as at Leopold Place), etc. Some drivers demand to see the photo ID, which isn't part of the terms and conditions, but apparently drivers can set their own rules. Worst of all, my wallet was stolen on the bus. Untrustworthy, dishonest, rude, unsafe - they are the exact opposite of a typical Scottish company or individuals.

As If the the 43 Edinburgh/ South Queensferry service wasn't bad enough we get job worth drivers making the service worse.17.04.2023 heading towards South Queensferry it arrived at The Loan 11.52 hrs heading towards Scotstoun Terminus. A young lady (without her partner) with a small child sitting on a push along cycle and a small dog on a lead gets on and sits at the buggy/wheelchair seat, The cycle rolls and child falls, Driver Immediately tells the woman to get off the bus, she asks why ? The driver says you need to put the brake on or get off, She got off then verified to the driver the cycle had the brake on. On previous experience with this driver it's the same one that allows buggies / push / wheelchairs on without using brakes, and allows people to stand at the bottom of the stairs and at the front of the bus when there's seats available to use.

The guys that work for Lothian Buses are fantastic!! They were so very kind and helpful when I left an important item on one of the buses that run to the airport. They are literally life savers! Love love love Lothian Bus of Edinburgh
