Don't question when food is late, or you'll be hung drawn and quartered.... Lack of customer care or any ability for empathy. The manager and his "god complex" really does shine as a perfect example of how not to be a manager or owner of a restaurant. Then he will complain on Facebook about you... Please tell me how you're insecure without telling me your insecure.. cringe.

Don't waste your time and go grill it instead.

1st visit here :-) had a family meal here last night for my brothers 50th, food was amazing and the staff were great! will definitely be coming back :-)

Superb! We had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was awesome from the food to the staff nothing missed a beat. I will definitely go back there as it was truly delicious food.

We had a table booked and were sat in the corner of the bar. Was told we would have to wait till a large party had ordered before we could which is reasonable. We watched them order and then didn’t see the waitress again! After 40 mins we got up and left

Heard a lot about this place so decided to give it a go must say very impressed had the lunchtime menu with 4 family members all staff very friendly and matt the gaffer a great host he had the crack with me mom we were all very impressed with the food we were on the round table by the kitchen will definitely be back perhaps for the night time menu well done 5 stars

I have been several times over the last 5 months. Each time it gets better and better. Had breakfast, lunch and several evening meals. Food has been local produce which has been high quality, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Service very friendly. Last night's birthday steak was perfection itself.

Called twice to check if I could move my deposit to another day as I had flu (gave over 24 hours notice). Advised on both occasions I could do this, therefore no one else in my party attended the bottomless brunch event as this was a chance for us to celebrate Xmas together. Rebooked for a future date and it was confirmed deposit moved. Then after the brunch was over a very rude member of staff called me to tell me that what I was told was incorrect and that they would be keeping my deposit! Wasn’t given the opportunity for anyone to attend which is basically lying to keep my deposit. At no time of booking was I told the deposit was not able to be moved to another event (in fact it was advertised on a live stream on social media that you could!). Then when trying to resolve the matter had a very defensive and aggressive message back.
The food might be ok but the staff certainly not up to standard. Left a really bad feeling. I won’t be going back again. Avoid.

Chef was rude when asked by a staff member for me if the prawns were de-veined he flicked one in a ceramic container at the staff member which went on the floor and broke . I witnessed hygiene issue - chef preparing food and putting bits in his mouth , sniffing food containers to what looked like checking if the 3 containers food was of I couldn’t eat most of my food . I didn’t leave as it would have been embarrassing for our guests who came a long way . The prawns I asked about which were on the menu as prawns came to me as shrimps on the seafood cocktail platter .
Will never go there again and telling my friends about my bad experience . The waitress apologised but it wasn’t for her to . The owner on us walking out didn’t even ask if we had enjoyed the meal , thanks for for coming or anything as he sat at the bar

Had a bottomless brunch, food was so lovely, it came in sort of birdcage (unusual but really quirky), a few other diners looked at it and commented what a lovely idea. Went a couple of months ago with 4 friends. The experience was so bad. Staff completely rude bordering aggresive. Food is overpriced and not up to standard... avoid!

Excellent food, staff and atmosphere!!

Came to lockside 13/02 for an early valentines meal. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Waitresses were lovely and polite which is why we are giving any stars for this place at all. Never complained about food as my partner doesn’t like to make a fuss, when on reflection the standard of food we were given was below subpar and was not worth the £105 bill. We were one of max 10 tables the 2.5 hours we were there, 3 tables sent food back with one older gentleman refusing his food altogether.
Some positives were that the nachos were nice and probably best part of the meal and cocktails were delightful and refreshing.

Starter- nachos.
When it came to an hour without our starter I had to ask if it was on its way, other tables who arrived after us got starters and mains, the chef stated huffed at the waitress and stated to his colleague ‘I have to do table 3’s f****** before I can come for a cig’

Mains- chateaubriand, prawns, loaded fries and Mac and cheese.
Every single item was severely under seasoned, bland and either over or under cooked.
Chips half uncooked.
Steak cold, overdone and no seasoning
Prawns had no taste and one was completely raw.
Beef dripping was watery gravy with chopped carrots swimming.
Mac and cheese was bland, cheese mixed into plain pasta, no sauce, breadcrumbs etc, most definitely not mac and cheese
Dirty fries - bacon slapped on top of fries with grated cheese.

Went Christmas Eve Nice place and helpful staff. not updated the online menu prices so went in and to my surprise was a few pound more expensive per meal. What annoyed me most was waitress had took my partners order wrong which she apologised for but had to wait 10 mins for a new meal. I held back as the whole point of it was to eat together so by time I waited my food was cold. Nice steak but not worth the money in my opinion. Would have been nice to have been offered a percentage off the bill or at least a free dessert. Probably would eat elsewhere for a good steak

4 of us came had ribeye steaks extras onion rings which were great meal no complaints however I feel 9 quid for a glass of wine is ridiculous also the service charge of almost 13 quid just to bring drinks to our table is a joke and the seat I sat on was,so dirty I put my coat over it as I didn't want to sit on a stained seat , I think you need think about the cost of a glass of wine and the state of the seats guest are sitting on I can't fault the food it was great, but as I said the price of wine per glass and adding a service charge is not acceptable and I don't want to sit on a dirty seat you need to address these things and I would give you 5 stars I understand you can opt out of service charge which I later after leaving thought about would have , I would have left a tip for the waitress in the region of about 5 quid but think the charge that was applied was over the top

Just had an amazing Sunday lunch for my birthday! I had roast beef and hubby had roast Turkey. The food was cooked to perfection. Jake & Amber were attentive hosts. Hubby bought me a mojito for my birthday & the guys decorated it with a candle. 100% recommend the Lockside

Very overpriced, no atmosphere staff outside on the carpark having a cigarette not friendly at all, when asked what the occasion was booked for online, i said it was for my daughters 18th Birthday but there was nothing special done for her i even said to Jenna on the way in it was my daughters 18th and she couldnt even say Happy Birthday then either, food was nice but saw the female cook wiping her sweaty forehead on the tea towel 4 times also £7.50 service charge ?whats all that about ?

Avoid the fillet steak! If that’s what you’d call it. Tasted on the turn. Poor quality cut. Staff argued when I asked for a reduction as I only had a few bites and my chips they said I ate the meal despite sending it back and refusing to risk another. Finally got a small £5 reduction after two members of staff debating with me.

Steaks alone were great but the steak sauces were poor, drink service was poor and staff didn’t seem really very interested in serving, shame because I always liked it there but probably will go to other restaurants for a steak meal

Waited over a hour for food they had one ticket which was ours no staff to be seen in the kitchen at all, decided to leave and leaving the car park all too busy having a cigarette break. Too busy worrying about having a cigarette than getting food out to customers. Poor poor service.

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Lockside Steakhouse. The owner was a complete gentlemen and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The restaurant itself was beautiful , it has a very rustic and homely feel to it. As far as the food goes it was the best steak I’ve ever had (and I like food!).
We will be coming back on our next trip to the area. Thanks again.
