Not a horror experience
One of the best plant shops I've used online. Excellent customer service, had a minor glitch with delivery, no fault of the shop and they sorted everything out very quickly. My new plant babies arrived very well packaged and are beautiful, healthy and well established. Love the addition of the care sheets. Highly recommend

Disappointing customer experience
I placed an order on 29 July 2025, relying on the store’s clear statement that orders placed after 22 July would be dispatched in week 31, along with their advertised 1–3 working day dispatch policy.
When I hadn’t received any dispatch confirmation by early week 32, I contacted the business, only to hear a voicemail saying they were closed until 4 August. This completely contradicted the information on their website at the time of my purchase.
I reached out politely to ask for the order to be sent and requested store credit as a goodwill gesture for the delay and lack of transparency. Instead of responding or acknowledging the issue, they simply refunded me without explanation—even though I made it clear I still wanted the item.
While I respect what the business has built, I was disappointed by the lack of communication, the misleading dispatch claims, and the way the issue was handled. A simple acknowledgement or small gesture would have gone a long way.
Unfortunately, I won’t be reordering.

Thank you for your feedback.
A typing error on the website said indeed that we would start despatching orders in week 31 again, which should have written week 32 instead.
As you mention in your feedback, the message on our answering machine stated clearly we would start despatching from the 4th of August again.
On Sunday the 3rd of August you’ve sent us an email in which you wrote that you would not have proceeded with the purchase if you knew the plant would only arrive on the 4th, 5th or 6th of August.
This email also contained all kinds of threats and on top of that you requested us to give your order priority above other orders or to give you a store credit.
In our response we’ve apologized for the miscommunication and explained that other customers were waiting for their orders as well after our break. On the website we have a disclaimer for typos on the website and in your case the delay would only have been 3 days at the max (we only despatch orders from Monday to Thursday).
Due to the fact that your email contained all sorts of unreasonable threats and demands, we’ve decided to cancel and refund your order immediately. As a response to the refund you said you’d leave a negative review on Trustpilot.
We believe that Trustpilot is not meant to use as means of pressure or to force a company into accepting a customer’s (unreasonable) threats and demands. Also we don't believe that emailing a company's customer service starting with all sorts of threats is the way to get what you want. We've many happy customers and always try to offer the best we can to help out when things go wrong.
In your case we’ve apologized for the miscommunication plus any inconvenience caused for the 3 days delay, which we think was the best we could offer to you in this case.

Amazing experience. The care they took to pack the plants and ensure they were good has really ensured I come back. I’ve never trusted online for plants but the care they’ve took has amazed me, such beautiful sarracenia and so well packed, Shame I can’t give six stars

Great shop, low stock

HCP is where you want to be ordering your plants from, the selection is second to none. The professionalism from staff sets it out amongst a world of lacklustre offerings. Priced reasonably for such A* specimens. Don’t walk, run to order.

EXCELLENT!
Recently ordered for the first time, three plants and was a bit dubious as to how they would arrive! No need to worry, they came in a solid plastic carton with a separate compartment for for each plant. Just removed them and they were ready to g(r)o(ow)! Excellent! Prompt delivery as well! Will definitely use again!

First time I had used Little Shop of Horrors. Great selection of carnivous plants. Brilliant communication with them. Disappointed with one of the plants as it had been put in the pot upside down...with just a couple of leaves showing. I usually repot all my plants and glad I did as I wouldn't have realised there was more to the plant than I was seeing. Generally though plants were healthy, possibly a bit more care to be taken when potting/packing. I will order from them again though. :)
