Very rushed experience – poor communication and long waits
I attended EuroEyes for a cataract consultation after it was recommended to me. I require surgery in both eyes. The initial free consultation was meant to be around 30 minutes, but I had less than five minutes with the consultant, and the clinic had my appointment time wrong.
I was then encouraged to book a £250 paid consultation, having been told it would be more thorough and that I would get proper time with the doctor. Unfortunately, this did not happen.
The front desk staff were cold and unwelcoming, and throughout the visit there were no updates on delays. A 1.5-hour appointment turned into almost 4 hours, largely spent waiting without explanation.
When I saw the optometrist, they did not know why I was there and asked me to explain why I wanted surgery. I later saw Dr Fadi, who again felt very rushed. There was little discussion of my medical or eye history, and the focus seemed to be on booking surgery quickly. I was also encouraged to have both eyes done at the same time, which felt concerning given the lack of assessment and explanation.
I was promised follow-up information by email, which only arrived after multiple calls and emails chasing it. I also requested a further discussion before committing to surgery, but that conversation again felt rushed and my questions were not fully addressed.
Overall, the clinic felt high-volume and transactional, with very little time spent reassuring or properly engaging with patients. For eye surgery, I expected a far more patient-centred experience.
