Splendid quality product, excellent service from Master Craftsmen.
From start to finish, my experience of ordering and customising a satchel was excellent. Having ordered a satchel for my granddaughter for her birthday, I was so impressed I decided to have a customised one for my birthday. The journey from my first ideas to final design by Keith, the Master Craftsman, was outstanding and part of my birthday experience. He interacted with me to meet the purpose that I had provided, in the final design.
My satchel and my granddaughter's arrived when promised, beautifully packaged. The quality of both is of the highest order. As a bonus, their products are designed and made in the UK.
I can't praise the company enough.

Starting with a satchel for your granddaughter, then deciding to design one for yourself after seeing how that process unfolded, says a lot about the experience you had the first time around. Taking an idea, shaping it around a purpose, and working it through until it feels right is how these pieces are meant to come into being.
Once they’re out in the world, they quickly stop feeling like new objects and start settling into life as little leather sidekicks, each one carrying its own role and memories. I’m glad both arrived as promised and that the journey itself became part of the birthdays, not just the bags.
I appreciate you trusting us with both pieces, and I hope they each grow into their own character over time.

Ordering a few pieces at once and shaping each one to suit how you’ll actually use them is where this way of working really shows its value. The briefcase and bags were made to a specific brief, not pulled from a shelf, so good communication along the way matters as much as the making itself.
Once they’re out in the world, they stop being new very quickly and start settling into life as little leather sidekicks… picking up marks, habits, and stories that make them yours. That’s where the personality really comes through.
I appreciate you trusting us with the work, and I hope they serve you well for a long time to come.
How a business should be run
Cannot speak highly enough of this company. The quality is perfect, the prices are cheaper than mass produced imported stuff and everything can be modified or personalised. The customer service is the best I have come across in a long while. I’m a happy shopper.

First class company and products!
I have bought a 12" satchel, with adjustments made to suit my requirements.
The quality of the item is absolutely wonderful. Communication with them is first class; Keith has been lovely to deal with.
Furthermore, not only is this a British company, it also sources the materials within Britain.
I am now looking to order another bag.

So happy with my new bag , it is the second one I’ve bought- the first is four years old and not broken but a little worn - the quality is fantastic and I was able to choose different colours of leather so my bag feels unique

I am a returning customer and first bought a satchel and a music case from The Leather Satchel Co. in 2019 after much research and seeing their work online. I ended up loving my bags and using them so often that I came back to purchase two more bags in the same styles but in different sizes and colors.
These bags are not just handmade, but they are made uniquely for you. Keith and the team at the workshop really think on your behalf through every possible detail. There is nothing too small that will escape their attention. Keith sent me an email right after my purchase to confirm my choices, and recommended an upgrade to the clasps that I had chosen to ensure that my bag would stay properly closed with heavier items. Since I mentioned that I was a musician and used my bags to carry concert-sized scores, Keith also gave me more details on the measurements of the bags to ensure that I got the right one for my needs. The team even went as far as to think on my behalf that having a shoulder pad on the larger 15-in satchel that I purchased would make carrying heavy books around less of a burden on my shoulder. It's not just a handmade bag, but truly made and designed with you, the customer, in mind.
As for the bags themselves, they are the most beautiful quality -- the leather is buttery and thick and supple, the hardware is sturdy and durable, and the feel of it in your hand is really unlike anything else. And the craftsmanship is superior -- the stitching is beautiful, the fasteners open smoothly and close effortlessly. The bags I purchased back in 2019 still look and feel brand new, and I have never had any problems with them either, and I use them on a daily basis. I look forward to having many adventures with my bags for years to come. From a huge fan and loyal customer.

As a teacher, I have always used a satchel as a school bag but an upgrade was long overdue. My new satchel arrived last week and I am looking forward to many years with my stylish and practical new school buddy. The whole purchasing process was simple and felt very personal, with regular contact from the company. This is an excellent company. Their customer service is second-to-none and they always go the extra mile - or more! The quality of their products is superb- the workmanship is outstanding and the finished product is simply beautiful. J'ai beaucoup apprécié la possibilité de pouvoir commander un sac selon mes envies et besoins : modèle, forme, taille, couleur et plusieurs détails de mon choix (modifier la profondeur du sac, trouver un mode de fermeture adéquat...) Les échanges avec Keith ont été agréables et cordiaux, il a été de très bon conseil et j'ai apprécié ses propositions. C'est une relation personnalisée qui s'instaure et c'est vraiment hyper appréciable. On est loin du e-commerce anonyme et sans âme. J'ai reçu mon sac dans des délais parfaits, et il est magnifique ! Chaque fois que je le porte, je n'ai que des compliments car il est original et unique et l'on me demande souvent où je l'ai trouvé. Je ne peux donc que recommander The Leather Satchel Co. ! Je le garderai longtemps, c'est même le genre de sac que l'on transmet.

Birthday Gift
I ordered a briefcase satchel as a gift to myself for a special birthday and am delighted with it, so much so that I have ordered a second in a different colour. It is exactly as I had hoped, traditionally made but also stylish. The service from the company has been exceptional with frequent, friendly emails from Keith updating me on the progress of my order.
