My partner treated me to a birthday meal at Kipferl as one of my fave dishes is Käsespätzle wit Kartoffel salat (Potato salad). My partner is from the Voralberg area where this dish originates so is a must whenever we visit.

My partner had the soup of the day which was watery and tasteless - saved only by the few sourdough bread slices.

The celebratory dish should have been the Käsespätzle! OMG this was the WORST Käsespätzle I have EVER tasted. It is a dish we know well and eat often when in Voralberg, Austria. Käsespätzle is made with a specific dough recipe and has 4 types of cheese (made only in Voralberg) generously spread over the spätzle and melted. The Käse (cheese) was definitely NOT what was used and is an essential ingredient in the dish and therefore the distinct aroma of the cheese totally missing. The spätzle should be well formed kernels of dough, light and pillowy.. this was soft and mushy and all it tasted of was EGG!!!!! The presentation and taste were absolutely awful.

The kartoffel (potato) salad failed to delight too. What was presented was a lazy, sloppy salad made of thick rounds of boiled potato swimming in dressing. This would never be served this way in an AUTHENTIC Austrian restaurant or home in Voralberg!

During the meal not one member of staff asked how the food was... did they know that it was awful and that we were being ripped off?

Needless to say my Kirferl birthday lunch was ruined.

We are both disappointed and angry at this awful experience and NEVER again will we eat there... what a WASTE of MONEY and what they promise on their menu in terms of authentic Käsespätzle and kartoffel salat is definitely NOT what they provide.

To be fair they have refunded immediately so I have given them two extra stars

Update the replacement cakes arrived today having sat in a van overnight because of delivery failure yesterday ( we were in).
They are again terribly damaged and look nothing like the ones on the website

The cakes are nice but arrived badly damaged. I contacted the firm twice with photos they didn't respond immediately but did when I put it on here immediately offered to send new cakes

I ordered a Linzertorte to be delivered. It was delivered quickly and well packed. It was absolutely delicious, better than any Linzertortes I’ve had in Austria and Switzerland over the years (which is a lot of Linzers, believe me!).

I have recently discovered this wonderful Patisserie, after several orders I cannot recommend them highly enough. The Sachertorte is indistinguishable from the original moist and delicate everything I remember it should be. The Linzertorte and the Vanilla Kipferl are just like the those my mother used to make. Customer service is extremely high and if I had a criticism it would be that their range does not include a Marillenkuchen. I have no hesitation in recommending Kipferl.

Although there was a problem with my order, it was resolved very quickly and the celebration cake that I had delivered looked spectacular and was absolutely wonderful to eat!

Due to changing circumstances i needed to change the size of a cake i had ordered just a few days before delivery. I emailed late on a sunday and was responded to that same night - Kipferl updated the order and provided a quick an easy way to pay the cost difference. Within 45 minutes of my slightly panicked initial email, by order had been updated without any fuss.

Great customer service that i wont soon forget!

Edit: All of the ordered items came on time, including the upgrade, and all tasted absolutely delicious! Customer for life!

I ordered the sachertorte as a birthday present for my mum has we could not go back for her birthday to her beloved Vienna
The cake arrived and it was sublime as of course was the coffee and the biscuits I ordered

I ordered a Sachertorte for my brother’s birthday (it’s his favourite cake) from the Kipferl website and asked for a special message to be iced on top. The whole process was very simple, I got confirmation of when the cake was arriving (on the day I requested) and I could track the delivery which was specified to the hour, so we knew exactly when it was going to arrive. The delivery driver put the box down on its side (despite clear stickers on the box) so I was worried the cake might be damaged, but it was so well-packaged with an ice pack under it and a thick cool bag around it, that it wasn’t damaged in the slightest. It all looked perfect and the iced message looked great. And best of all, the cake tasted perfect. We used to have sachertorte a lot when we were growing up so it was a real treat to taste the authentic thing again after all these years. My brother was delighted and it made the party extra special. Thank you, Kipferl.

Lovely selection of cakes and teas! My partner and I occassionally meet here after lunch and we always enjoy the good food and the relaxing athmosphere.

Amazing cakes
We have had 2 cakes recently from Kipferl.
A sachertorte and an apple cake. Both these cakes were amazing,beautiful flavours, moist and i think good value for what i would call an artisan product.
Well packaged and both delivered with cakes intact.
Kipferls customer service is first class which i find rare these days.
So if your wanting special cake look at Kipferls

Sadly the establishment was let down by the deliveries
made, probably due to Covid. Best to pick up the cake yourself

This sachertorte has been daylight robbery!
I lived in Italy for 10 years and tasted the most wonderful examples of this famous cake.
Kipferl’s sachertorte is a farce. DRY; indiscernable apricot jam; chocolate layer so thin almost transparent to the eye and you can barely taste it.
Go to Any supermarket for better cakes.

I have left a review already but promised to edit it. Today, I received the cake. It looks wonderful and very Viennese and of course the Vanillekipferl are just a they should be, taste very Viennese and come second only to my Viennese aunt's homemade Kipferl!! I do bake them myself too when I have time. Kipferl are a caring company. Delivery might take a little longer but...... that's ok. Thank you Kipferl.

Superb moist and tasty cakes delivered promptly and safely. I especially like the sachertorte and the jewish apple cake.

Cake ordered for our son's birthday was to be delivered today. As of 18:30 today it has not yet arrived, and we have no follow-up except order confirmation from Kipferl.

The best Austrian place in town. Their cakes easily compare to delicious treats you can get in Vienna. Love this place!

This place is a home away from home. Superb food, lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. If I could give it 10 stars I would!

Received Mother's Day Special and was delighted. The little Sachertorten tasted even better than the one I had in Vienna a while ago. Ordered a medium sized one for my husband's birthday.
