They forced me to relocate due to maintance and they did not reimburse me for hotel and transportation I filed a small claims case on January 15.
Yesterday, I went to court. I printed all my evidence: receipts, photos, emails, everything clearly organized.
They sent a lawyer, but it didn’t help them. The judges value clear and direct presentation
YOU CAN DO THIS TOO - even if its $100 or $1000
You don’t need to be a lawyer. June homes has soo many cases against them.. Print your evidence, stick to facts and you are likely to be awarded
NEXT: i have another court November 17 for my security deposit (after moving out jan 16)
Just horrible
Just horrible! There were cockroaches, rats, and multiple floods yet the management refused to do anything about it and would not let me break my lease. Avoid at all costs!

I stayed with June Homes for 6 months in Brighton, MA (Boston). Overall a great experience. Obviously living with strangers mean the place cant be as clean as you may want to and may not be as cozy. But overall everyone was respectful, the place was quiet to coexist. the condition of the apartment was old and more cluttered than the photos but not alarmingly gross like ones I have seen reviewed. If you're just looking for a place to stay short term for a couple months for work/school, this is still a decent choice.

I have been with June Homes for nearly four years—two years in New York and almost two years in Los Angeles—and my experience has been consistently excellent. From lease signing to moving in, every step of the process has been smooth and well-organized.
Their property management team is attentive and responsive, with managers available to visit whenever needed. The internal ticketing system is efficient and reliable, ensuring that any concerns are addressed promptly and resolved quickly. Both the accounting and sales teams are equally impressive in their professionalism and support.
On a few occasions when I was late with my monthly payments, the team handled the situation with flexibility and understanding, never causing any inconvenience. Their professionalism and customer-focused approach truly stand out.
Overall, I have nothing but praise for June Homes and all of their teams. Thank you very much for such a positive experience.

An Extremely Stressful Experience with June Homes: Things I Wish I Knew (Roommates, Safety & Costs)
This review reflects my personal experience after staying with June Homes for several years.
What initially seemed like a convenient housing option gradually turned into a very stressful and difficult living experience.
One of my biggest concerns was the uncertainty around roommates. In my experience, you often don’t know who you will be living with, and when issues arise — including disruptive or unpredictable behavior — they can be very difficult to resolve. I felt that tenants may end up bearing much of the risk themselves, which made me feel increasingly uneasy about my living environment and personal safety.
The situation eventually escalated into a serious safety concern involving a roommate, which led to police involvement. During that time, I did not feel that my concerns were handled with urgency. I had to arrange temporary housing at my own expense just to feel safe, which was a very stressful experience.
After the situation escalated, I was eventually offered a penalty-free early termination option. However, this was conditional on agreeing to additional terms, which, based on my understanding, included certain restrictions related to making public comments about the experience. Personally, I found this difficult to process given that I was trying to leave due to safety concerns.
Despite paying monthly management fees, I personally did not feel that I received the level of service or support I expected. When issues arose, responses sometimes felt limited, inconsistent, or not clearly communicated, and I often felt that I had to handle situations on my own without effective resolution.
There were also ongoing issues with basic living conditions. During winter, I experienced repeated periods without consistent hot water. Although I reported this multiple times, the issue was not fully resolved, and I was at one point told that this could be “normal” in New York due to older infrastructure. As a tenant paying rent and fees, I found this difficult to understand.
I also experienced challenges with billing transparency, including utility charges and security deposit deductions. In my experience, some charges were not clearly explained in advance, and I had to follow up multiple times to understand the details.
In certain cases, the utility costs appeared unexpectedly high relative to my usage, which I personally found difficult to understand. When I asked for clarification, the explanations were not always clear or consistent.
At times, there were inconsistencies or later corrections mentioned, which made the process feel confusing and frustrating.
Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone considering this platform — especially for longer stays — to carefully review lease terms, billing details, and potential risks, including roommate uncertainty and support responsiveness. I would also suggest looking beyond overall ratings when researching. In my experience, I have received emails offering incentives (such as gift cards) in connection with leaving reviews, and I still have records of these communications. Because of this, I found it more helpful to read detailed and critical feedback to gain a more complete understanding of different user experiences.
This is only my personal experience, but I hope it provides helpful context for others making housing decisions. Personally, this experience did not provide the sense of safety and stability I was hoping for — instead, it left me feeling stressed, unsupported, and uncertain.
Based on this very stressful experience, I would personally not consider using this platform again.

Wonderful experience for short term stay
I had a wonderful experience for the 3 weeks I was in NYC with June Homes. Everything was so intuitive, the app was accessible and customer support was timely. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for an intermediary set-up while you find your long-term spot! Its fairly priced too and locations are great all on the west side.

Application fee refund required a bank dispute
I applied for a unit and paid the $20 application fee on March 6. My application was not approved, and I was told in writing the fee would be refunded.
After that, there was a communication blackout despite multiple follow-ups requesting the refund and asking for a processing date. I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my bank to get the refund finalized.
Posting this to warn other renters: if you pay an application fee, keep everything in writing and be prepared to escalate if support stops responding.
Update: June Homes replied here asking me to email them. I’m not sharing personal details publicly, but confirming the refund was only resolved after my bank dispute following multiple unanswered follow-ups.

I found my room through June Homes…
I found my room through June Homes while studying at Boston University. The location was really convenient since it was close to campus and I could walk to classes most days.
A couple of my roommates were also BU students, which made the apartment feel pretty student friendly and easy to settle into. The room was furnished and the move in process was simple, which helped since I had just moved to Boston.
Overall it was a good experience and a practical option for student housing.
