JPMorgan Chase Supports Fraud and Scammers – Sellers Need to File OCC Complaints
As an e-commerce merchant, dealing with JPMorgan Chase has become an absolute nightmare because they actively facilitate "friendly fraud" and strip funds from legitimate sellers. I recently dealt with an incredibly abusive, toxic customer who openly refused to return my product, yet explicitly demanded her money back. She claimed the item was "not as described" as an excuse, and then threatened me, stating she would file a chargeback because she was 100% sure she would win. She knew that Chase always supports scammers over honest businesses, and she was right. Even though she clearly refused to return the merchandise and I provided definitive, indisputable evidence of her refusal and threats to Chase, they ignored it all. They choose to rule in the customer's favor every single time, letting her keep my product and my money, while saddling my business with chargeback fees. It is completely unacceptable for a multi-billion dollar financial institution to operate with such blatant disregard for fair play, and federal investigators need to step in so Chase knows they cannot continue this toxic pattern. A big number of sellers are being financially ruined by this, and we need to take this seriously. Every single merchant facing this abuse must go to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) right now and file an official complaint to trigger a real federal investigation into Chase's fraudulent dispute practices.
I am leaving Chase after learning what…
I am leaving Chase after learning what customer service at a massive institutional bank looks like when you actually need someone to exercise judgment.
My problem began with a $601.96 credit card dispute involving a Frontier Airlines fare that was sold as refundable, canceled, and not refunded. I disagreed with how Chase handled the dispute, but that is no longer the primary reason I am leaving.
The reason is what happened when I tried to complain about Chase itself.
I sent Chase a detailed written complaint explaining that I was not disputing whether I authorized the original purchase. I was complaining about how Chase handled my claim and specifically requested that someone independently review that handling.
Chase told me to contact Card Disputes.
I wrote back and explained that Card Disputes was the department whose handling I was complaining about. I specifically asked Chase not to simply send me back there and requested escalation to someone capable of reviewing the complaint.
A different Chase representative responded and sent me back to Card Disputes.
So I wrote a third time. This time I explicitly pointed out that the responses appeared to be boilerplate and that nobody seemed to be responding to what I was actually writing. I specifically stated that I was NOT asking for another explanation of how to contact Card Disputes.
A third Chase representative responded with another remarkably similar canned message and, unbelievably, told me to contact Card Disputes again.
That was enough for me.
I cannot know whether these responses were generated by software, assembled from customer service templates, or sent by employees who simply lacked the authority to do anything else. But the result was the same. Three differently named representatives sent variations of the same response while completely failing to address the substance of my complaint.
That is the danger I now see in institutional banking. Everything works beautifully while your needs fit within the automated systems and predetermined processes. The real test comes when something goes wrong and you need an actual person to understand the problem, take ownership of it, and exercise judgment.
Chase failed that test spectacularly.
The $601.96 is no longer particularly important to me. What is important is discovering that I do not want my banking, investment, and credit card relationships entrusted to an institution where customer service can become a closed loop designed, intentionally or otherwise, to exhaust the customer until he gives up.
So I gave up.
Not on the $601.96.
On Chase.

I’ve had a horrible experience with JP Morgan. It was fine until my mom passed away and I tried to get my advisor, Jeanna Cook Garcia, to divide the investments among the beneficiaries. It took her over a year to do it which took 8 office visits, 40 phone calls, and my hiring an attorney.
Here I am year and a half later, and there’s one remaining account that I can’t get the money out of. Her excuse now is that it’s closed so she can’t do it. Today alone, I’ve been on the phone with customer service for over 2 hours with no solution in sight. I hate this company!
I’ve reported her to the SEC and FINRA for continuing to trade in my mom’s account for about 6 months after her death, all the while telling me how much money she was making me. I even had Private Client status which means nothing, obviously. I tried to get help from her supervisor, Joe D’Agostino, but he doesn’t return any of my requests to speak to him.
Chase has the WORST customer service…
Chase has the WORST customer service representatives in the industry. Just hung up with a guy named Brandon refusing to answer my questions about my account without continuously asking for a payment first otp. I'm literally signed in ready to pay on the app but needed assistance with a few questions for reassurance before I hit submit. Now I'm going to pay another bill with said money and Chase can wait until next week or longer for being rude to me!
Run away!!
They may single handedly put my business out of business!
We received a fraudulent deposit of over $24,000 and, knowing it was a scam, I alerted chase and the FBI.
To thank me for my assistance, they proceeded to close my operating account.
So, I moved everything over to my payroll account. One week later, they closed my payroll account!
So, now thousands of dollars are floating around and I'm unable to pay my employees or vendors.
When I first opened the accounts, I liked the "big bank" feel. But their actions have hurt my business so bad that I'm not sure we will recover.
Run away
Very unprofessional and dishonest…
$36 Million Dollar third Party Certified Co. Evaluation & it took 9 weeks to tell me NO??? and they also Admitted they Didn't Even Look at Documents that Were Submitted. - ???
I will never do business with them in the future.
WORST BANKING EXPERIENCE EVER
WORST BANKING EXPERIENCE EVER
After making wire transfers to my French account via a currency broker for almost 20 years Chase canceled a transfer and blocked my account. Why? Suspicious activity – and from then on forward Chase treated me like a criminal money launderer. After several more attempts I learned that wire transfers were no longer permitted! WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED IN THE FIRST PLACE? Then Chase said the problem arose from using my computer instead of a phone; COMPLETELY FALSE! When I finally spoke to Chase’s only competent employee he guided me through the steps on my computer. No problem! I also phoned my branch in Manhattan who suggested my only alternatives were to request a check from head office (good luck with that one!) or use my debit card. Both incurring huge fees. After close to a week no solution offered. A total disgrace.
More Consistency and Responsiveness, Please
For extra security, on July 28,2026, I decided to purchase a cashier's check at my local JPMorgan Chase branch at 1420 W. Southport Rd. in Indianapois IN. I called and spoke with Katie at the branch, who verified a lot of my personal information before telling me there would still be a fee for the cashier's check. I explained that the branch manager at 111 Monument Circle in Indianapolis had already voluntarily told me there would be no fee because we had fairly high-deposit accounts with Chase and rarely ever needed services, but she insisted there would be a fee. I called back and spoke to the branch manager, who said there would be no fee for the cashier's check.
I stopped by the branch later that same day to get the cashier's check and was told there would be a fee. I explained that the branch manager had said there would be no fee. He left the counter to speak with the manager, returned and said she'd be with us shortly. We waited while 3 and 4 customers lined up behind me. The teller was ready to ask me to step aside while he waited on the others since he was the only teller behind that counter. I went ahead and paid the fee.
The following morning I read how in 2025 Chase took in like $57 billion in revenue but only gave like $400 million (roughly 0.7 percent) in actual monetary contributions to charitable organizations and the community, and I thought of documentaries I'd viewed about the historical Gilded Age ruthlessness of financial kingpins like JP Morgan in some of his business dealings, and I decided I'd rather keep that $10. So I called the branch back and spoke with the branch manager, who had the authority to override the fee.
While I certainly appreciate the branch manager's kindness and help, and listening to me, in my humble layperson opinion Chase as a federally regulated (hopefully still!) financial institution needs a lot more consistency across its branches in its everyday business practices. And I'd also be pleased to see JPMorgan Chase and other major financial players really step up to the plate to start doing better and giving back more to the communities that have given so incredibly much to its bottom line.
MOZAIC FUND = SHOEBOX
My wife was pressured into putting $150,00.00 into JOMORGAN MOZAIC II STRAT A.
She would have been so much better off putting the money in a shoebox under the bed! It never gained a penny in value, ever, in 9 years yet they charged her a service fee every year... For what? For what?
There is no real customer service, just flim flam and Mau Mau.
I gave it a few years.. Glad I left took my money elsewhere
After retiring I spent the past few years allowing JP Morgan to manage a large portion of our investment portfolio. Misapplied fund, excessive delays in getting transactions processed, and excessive fees. Many of the advisors have little or no college education. I moved in excess of $4 million recently and I'm happy I did.
They are a very big organization, and I'll simply say Good Luck!!
Chase Bank most definitely is not the…
Chase Bank most definitely is not the bank that you want to do business with. The other reviews are very true ,they will close your account just a few days after opening it and will not explain the reasoning. This is a -5 star rating
Terrible customer support
Terrible customer support, they work against you instead of helping you.
Long story short
Long story short. I was young in my early twenties has no experience about financial scams from real fraudster. Im victim of scam but chase treated me as a risky fraudster and closed my account. They ban me about 20 years now. I went to use other banks instead. Problem with chase is that they are too big to see you as a client. They are not on yourside. They don't want your business cause they are too big to care or to even look at evidence even if you showed them. There staff are not investigators, they will bluntly shut you down even if it's not your fault. I don't recommend doing business with them because of their too strict policies and procedures. While things could be handled better but they choose not to help you.
Watch Out! Chase May Close Your Accounts Without Notification
While traveling overseas I found that requests to transfer funds from our Chase account to a foreign exchange account failed with the response "Try again later". Requests to wire transfer funds to a European bank also failed with the same response. After returning home, I visited the local Chase branch for help with the wire transfer. I was then informed that upon discovering missing information regarding the trust owning our accounts, all accounts had been closed and could not be reopened. The accounts had been in the trust for years. We received no notice that the accounts were closed other than the sudden unavailability of the funds. The accounts totaling more than $100K have been unavailable to us for about three weeks now. Chase claims that checks are in the mail. It has been very difficult to find anyone to speak with at the Chase branch. There is no answering service, and the branch manager lacks voice mail as well.
They want me to open business account. (with this kind management I’m going to close my personal)
3 weeks back. I asked for $5,000 in one-dollar bills.
They asked: what do you need that amount for?
I was surprised by the question and simply said — for myself.
They said they didn’t have that kind of cash and would need to order it.
And that I should come back next week.
I came back the following week.
They said they only had $2,000.
Well, I understand how banks work.
If they ordered $5,000, then they received $5,000.
Apparently, they gave it to someone more likable.
I’m a calm person until I’m pushed too far.
I said — fine. When should I come for the rest?
They said — next week.
I came back the next week.
They said there was none. They needed to ask the manager.
The manager said to give me $2,000.
I asked when the rest would be available.
They said — next week.
I came back the following week, meaning today, 5/29/2026.
At the teller they said there was no money. I said I had ordered it
three weeks ago and still couldn’t get it.
They replied that they knew nothing about it and that I should speak to the manager.
I went to the manager.
It turned out not to be the same one I had spoken to the first time, apparently the head manager.
He asked who had promised me the $5,000 the first time.
And right then, that manager happened to walk by.
He asked what was going on.
She said they had given me part of it,
and that I had deposited part of it back through the ATM (which, to put it mildly, is not true.
I haven’t deposited cash there in several months.)
Then the head manager said — I see — and let her go.
I told him — she’s lying.
And he said — we need to know what you need the cash for.
Well, that was a first for me.
I can understand when they check large cash deposits,
but demanding to know why I’m withdrawing cash from my own account —
that’s something I’ve never heard before.
I said that I like the way it smells.
They told me goodbye and said they would never give me cash again,
and that if I wanted, I could use the ATM.
How am I supposed to understand this?
I guess I’ll have to go to a lawyer. Just what I needed — I already don’t have enough time as it is.
Disgusting experience with JPMorgan…
Disgusting experience with JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A.
Our company, Circa Watch Laboratories LLC-FZ, was the victim of what we believe to be obvious credit card chargeback abuse by customer Claus Herther from Los Angeles, and JPMorgan Chase still facilitated the theft of our custom merchandise and funds despite extensive evidence being provided.
This was a CUSTOM watch order. The customer filed a “merchandise not received” dispute before the published production and shipping timeline had even expired, then later received and retained the watch while still keeping the refunded funds. The customer also promised to withdraw and return us the funds.
We submitted:
* USPS delivery confirmation
* Tracking records
* Customer communications
* Order documentation
* Proof of shipment and delivery
* Emails where the customer acknowledged possession of the watch
Dispute references:
* VROL Case #: 5547559095
* Transaction ID: 346076119960785
* ARN: 74073446076100063060007
* Retrieval Ref#: 607677100063
The dispute paperwork also listed JPMorgan Chase representative Freweini Goitom connected to the dispute handling process:
+1 844-540-8023
Despite all evidence submitted, Freweini Goitom from Chase still sided against the merchant while the customer retained both the custom watch and the refunded funds. Absolutely unacceptable conduct from a major financial institution. They are lazy and did not even check the records of communication with the client.
We are now pursuing action and escalating this matter further due to the financial damages caused to our business. Based on our experience, JPMorgan Chase appears more interested in facilitating fraudulent chargebacks than protecting legitimate merchants from abuse.
Merchants should be extremely cautious dealing with Chase dispute operations. Supporting documentation, delivery evidence, and dispute records are all preserved.

Worst bank on the planet
Worst bank on the planet. I would give them zero star review if I could. Horrible bank. DO NOT USE THEM. They are crooked as they come. Look up JP Morgan Chase with fraud or bank regulators and you can see ALL the trouble they are in. We banked with them for 12 years - business and consumer. We have great credit. Caused no trouble. All of a sudden we get letters saying they were closing our accounts - they would not give a reason. We had 30 days to close our acocunts - they said at no fault of our own. Our business is busines to business - our attorney said it probably one of our clients or vendors (probably a shaddy credit card processor). This became a lot of trouble for us - luckily a major bank took us immediately - they love us - bigger linesof credit - better business checking etc.
Now - more shaddy bsuiness with Chase - Chase #1 profit is credit card charge back/disputes with credot cards. They encourage - WHY? because they make BILLIONS off of the fees. They encourage you to dispute charges and then if you lose they encourage you to fight it further(for more fees). This is a scam VISA and Mastercard need to fix. With Chase you can dispute whatever you want - they make it way too easy. And it's ALWAYS they Merchants fault. WHEN if fact - the majority of disputes are "friendly fraud" where the card dipsutes a charge they actually made. There are major problems with chargebacks/disputes - no should be able to dispute somethng without proof - enless they card was stolen. We have reported this many times to VISA, Mastercard, Attorney Generals Office, and the Fedrla Trade Commision.
We will NEVERdo bsuiness with them again.
Recently attended a job interview
Recently attended a job interview, the interview panel were professional and asked many thoughtful questions about my work experience. I was asked to attend a follow up interview at the hiring managers flat, she thoroughly evaluated my oral stamina and ability to massage her cannons. Although I found the requirement to dip my nether regions in curry powder a little disconcerting, I have decided to accept a position as her driver rather than a Financial Risk analyst.
My corporate debit card inadvertently…
My corporate debit card inadvertently went through the shredder, my bad. I went down to the local branch to get a new identical same number debit card so I wouldn't have to change all my business accounts which I'm told they will do. I've had my corporate and personal account with them for several years (I was transferred over as part of the First Republic debacle). At my local branch, they were unable to find my corporate account after numerous tries. They finally found it and then she said her screen wasn't working very well, so she couldn't replace the card in kind. So before I could respond, she just went ahead and ordered a new card which completely and immediately canceled out my current debit card. I asked for that information so I could switch over my business accounts now and she said she's not able to provide me those details and I should get something in the mail in 5 to 7 days. Incompetence extraordinaire. Looking forward to changing my accounts at some point... JP Morgan Chase is not synonymous with even the most fundamental aspects of sound banking practices.
