Travelled all around Japan for 3 weeks with this esim and it worked perfectly! From Tokyo to rural Wakayama to Hokkaido, I had an internet connection. Made travelling around seamless and easy!

I've used Journey Japan eSIM twice now, in 2025, and it worked wonderfully both times. The coverage truly does seem endless, allowing you to use it anywhere. It worked on trains, underground, in stations and restaurants, and it's quite easy to set up. The instructions are clear, the service is great, and I won't be using any other eSIM provider for my Japan data needs. Top pick.

I had no issues during my trip to Tokyo, Ebina, Yokohama, Shizuoka, and Miyazaki Areas.

I went to Japan in September 2025 and tried the Journey Japan eSIM on a whim, and partially because my friend, a viewer of AbroadinJapan, told me about it. The JJeSIM was great! Easy to use, fast, and had great connectivity. I even had data in "middle-ish of nowhere" Ishigaki (Okinawa). Throughout my trip from Tokyo down to Ishigaki, connectivity was never an issue. I will definitely be using this again for future trips, would highly recommend. Thank you for providing an excellent product.

Bought the unlimited data package, but I’m getting unstable internet even with full coverage. Laggy GPS and hard to communicate with voice on messenger. I’m not recommending this to anyone!

Coverage was miles above anyone else! My girlfriend used an alternative cheapo option as she had patchy reception and no reception in several places on our trip last October. The JJESIM was a game changer, not once did I ever think about reception or wifi which allows me to enjoy my trip hassle free, setup was easy and was done within a minute of landing.

I ended up hotspotting her on several occasions and found the speed to be better and more reliable than my home phone plan in Australia! On a trip from Tokyo around Fuji by car I hadn't lost reception once! (until I went in a cave)

I cannot recommend them enough and I'm about to buy another one for my upcoming trip in May 🙏

Took the esim for a spin from Tokyo to Niigata and Nagano (snowboarding trip). Amazing coverage and up time.
A life saver as we could not find the English setting for our car navi. Signal was also great on the slopes.

Only downtime/throttling was due to the congestion at the gates of Disneyland. Right after the crowd dispersed into the park, data was back. So load those tickets on the app before lining up just to be sure.

Will definitely use this again on my next journey to Japan.

Had a great experience worked flawlessly my whole 4 week trip. At the end it did get throttled slightly but my usage was very high which makes it understandable

It was easy to get the esim installed on my pixel. When i got there I switched it on in the settings and it worked out of the box. No interruptions even in some remote places where my friends had no signal. The thing that lured me in was the lack of data cap. Worked as advertised can't really ask for more!

Fast and reliable from start to finish! The only hiccup was not realizing my phone needed to be connected to Wi-Fi in order to activate it, but once I did that it was smooth sailing! I visited Tokyo, Nagano, Kyoto, and Osaka and experienced a strong, steady connection throughout. I opted for the 50GB plan but could have easily gotten by with 20GB or even 10GB during my 17 day stint. Unfortunately I didn't manage to take advantage of any of the included discounts but there's always next time!

Worked great all the way from Sapporo down to Tokyo on our two week trip.

Usually use other brands but since I am a fan I thought I would give it a go. I spent a month travelling Japan from Sapporo, Hakodate, Aomori, Akita, Tokyo,Osaka and Hiroshima. The eSIM never let me down. It worked perfectly from the day I landed in Japan till the day I left. No glitches no delays. I didn’t even bother using hotel wifi it was that good. I was always able to face time home and google maps helped me always. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.

Used the e-sim during our holiday and never had any issues. Since it was our first time in Japan we mainly stayed on the golden route but also visited more remote areas such as Koyasan.
It was super easy to install and even my friend, who had never used an e-sim before and is absolutely helpless when it comes to technical stuff managed to install and activate it without any problems.
The next Japan trip is already in planning and I know, what e-sim I will be using.

The only caveat I would give is - and this is a 'general knowledge' problem, not a fault of the product - your phone does need to be unlocked to use the eSIM. Otherwise, specifically regarding the product; not a single problem, worked perfectly. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Japan.

This was such an easy to use eSim, had no issues for the whole 16 days we were here. We travelled to quite a few out of the way places with no interruptions to our data at all... Overall an amazing experience using JJ esim, it took a bit to actually connect to it in the airport cuz something with the access point wasn't set up properly but once I got it connected, I had no issues the entire time I was in Japan, will definitely be using this again on my next trip

I used JJeSIM on a two week trip in Japan and the connection was faultless. It was the first time for me to use an eSIM and I had to configure some network settings on my mobile to get the connection to work, but after that it was smooth sailing the entire trip. The JJeSIM setup guide does a good job in guiding through the process, so configuring wasn't an issue. I highly recommend JJeSIM and will definately be using it again on my next trip to Japan. Works perfectly! I did a 29 days long trip from Kyushu to Hokkaido and never had to be worried by a lack of network or a slow connection.
