Never again. The moment you need support from customer service just give up. They dont answer the phone, the app doesn't work when you try to freeze your membership through injury, currently on crutches with zero chance of being able to attend the gym. Promised call backs but not received them. The gym itself is decent and run by a good manager, what fails them and the customers is having to try and reach out to customer service. So, JD bring back the reception desk that was present when under DW, a working phone and a sensible standard of customer service. 0-10 for customer service and how this has left me.

I’ve been a member at JD Gym for some time, and while the gym has potential, there are consistent issues that need to be addressed. The sauna has been out of order on at least three separate occasions (if not more), which is frustrating for members who pay for full access.

Gym equipment is often broken, missing parts, or not maintained properly — there's nearly always something out of order. I’ve also forgotten my hoodie at the gym twice, and both times it was never seen again. There doesn’t seem to be a reliable lost property system in place. Unfortunately, management doesn’t appear very interested or responsive to member feedback either.

Considering that members are paying 100% of the price, it’s only fair to expect 100% of the service. Right now, it feels more like we're getting 70%. Unless things improve, it might be worth reviewing the membership fees to reflect the actual level of service being provided.
AT THE MOMENT LEG PRESS DOWN , SMITH MACHINE DOWN HYPEREXTENSION BENCH DOWN AND MULTIPLE BENCH CAN'T REGULATE BECAUSE MISSING PARTS .
If I want to entry multiple times a day I have to wait for PT and sometimes no ones there !!
For that price it's shocking ......absolutely shocking state and place to work out . SHAME ON YOU MANAGMENT OF JD GYM !!!!

Staff are so friendly and helpful! If you are between PureGym and JD Gym - Go to JD!! So much more relaxed and laid back and the classes are great - you can just turn up - no faff with booking a class and then getting banned if you miss the class! Weight machines are great. I love it! Everything is always clean and the sauna facilities are an extra bonus!

JD Llanishen has enhanced my whole life for the better. I have never been so consistent with going to the gym before I joined here and it’s been 3 years. I go at least twice a week. I’ve made so many friends, have social events outside of the gym and really look forward to my time there. I particularly love their Les Mils combat classes and since Karla has started Thursday evenings it has been my favourite weekday event! Saturday mornings are always a must with Paula as well, absolute power house! I’m grateful they have a good selection of classes as my working hours make it difficult to attend on other days. Love all the instructors and staff there , Sophie is also excellent at her pump and Vasco and Hayley also put on great classes! The equipment suits my needs and there is always plenty of machines so I’ve never found it impossible to get on one. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an all round gym in north Cardiff, it is a nice mix of ages and groups that go and we always love new members in combat! Xx

The gym lifts are not working. From the day I joined it is not working at all. Additionally the changing room of men stinks. Toilet, shower area and the sauna area stinks like anything. Please do the needful

I left this gym due to a bad experience with horrible /aggressive members , this particular woman who suffered from gigantism kicked me on purpose in a class more that twice. I wrote to the gym but one of the managers (Victoria) her reply was basically that I deserved it and caused the issue, not once she said that aggressive behaviour was not acceptable in the gym . I have joined a better gym and I feel much safer and the Manager there is professional and will not tolerate aggressive behaviour from any members. Also JD is not the cleanest of gyms and is the only gym that allows members to use the sauna fully dressed and wear trainers too, so unhygienic .

I cancelled my membership with JD Gym because the equipment didn't meet my needs. I used the app to cancel, but I didn't realize I hadn’t received a confirmation. Nearly a year later, and after being charged an extra £250, I discovered my membership was still active. Despite explaining that I hadn’t used the gym at all since the cancellation, JD Gym refused to issue a refund. It’s frustrating and disappointing – if you’re planning to cancel, make sure you get confirmation, or you might end up paying for a service you no longer use.

JD Gyms should make cancellation as easy as it is to sign up, rather than the intentionally obtuse process they have currently.

I bought wrong place gym, I try to contact service,asking for cancel my order, and I will buy correct place,it’s took me 4 days no one answer,so poor service!

Worse even gym. Stayed on the phone for more than an hour waiting for someone to answer the phone after disabled my account.
Not recommend at all.
14 days noticed to freeze the account is a joke

Signed up to not be able to access the gym the first night I arrived instantly cancelled membership for the inconvenience

The classes are excellent and love how spacious the gym feels especially at busy times. Also within classes enough room not to feel claustrophobic especially with social anxiety. I'm finding the circuits classes tough but enjoyable a special thanks goes to Liam and Blair who make circuits classes fun even though they finish me off each week.

i applied for the “wrong” gym even though it’s all the same company and when i first went to the gym the women that was supposed to be helping me was awfully horrible about the fact that i mixed up the gyms. i transferred my gym membership to the correct gym but i didn’t get a confirmation or anything and i haven’t gotten any money back??

I flippin love this gym! Really friendly staff, clean facilities, and plenty of choice when it comes to machines/equipment.

Also, loads of great classes running every day. 10/10 👌🏻 🤩

Vern , Vasco , Sophie and Hayley are all brilliant motivational instructors and all are 100 💯 professional.
The standard of hygiene in the gym is excellent and the timetable offers so much variety and that is a thanks to Victoria who is the manager.
Excellent value for money .
