Received a lovely warm welcome on entry and great service from Charlie who took time to explain the various Watch strap options and then kindly fitted my new strap.
Great customer service that I thought deserved a shout out,

The IStore in Hereford for outstanding Customer Service

Being elderly and not overly proficient with computers, we needed some help with our equipment.
Speaking to some friends, they both recommended we visit the IStore in Hereford.
We ‘phoned the IStore to see whether we needed to make an appointment. A very helpful young man advised that we didn’t need an appointment and that we should just go along.
Go along we did and we received the most helpful, polite and considerate assistance. Nothing was too much trouble. We left the IStore truly delighted.
Thank you so very, very much to Nathan.
We have to say that other people came into the IStore in Hereford whilst we were there and they received equal attention from other members of staff.
Truly exceptional service at the IStore in Hereford. We were and remain most grateful.

Not a true Apple service

I’m glad most have had a good experience with this store, however mine was different and less than 1 star. My phone was damaged whilst the battery was replaced, and I was informed that it was like that when I brought it in. Apple Reading have confirmed that it was damaged during the replacement. Their own photograph actually shows no damage to my phone. I would avoid using this store and only use an Apple Store, not a third party - I have learnt the hard way. Staff could not communicate on a personal level, and grudgingly offering a free screen protector was an insult.

We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience and would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your repair.

At check-in, photographs were taken of your device showing pre-existing scratches and general wear. These images were reviewed with you, and no concerns were raised when the device was returned following the battery replacement. The following day, you contacted us to report damage; however, after further review of both the photographs and the device by our technician and management, no additional damage beyond what was present at check-in could be identified.

As a goodwill gesture, a complimentary screen protector was offered but declined.

We regret that this experience has led to dissatisfaction; however, as an Apple Authorised Service Provider, we remain confident that the repair was completed correctly and in line with Apple’s guidelines.

Different quotes over the phone and at the appt

I have an issue with a Macbook that has a potentially faulty battery. I called them to book an appointment where I was quoted £250 for a topcase + battery replacement, which given it's Apple we talk about is not the most outrageous quote I expected. I agreed with the quote and proceeded to book the appointment.

Once I visited for the appointment, I was told at the store that I would have to pay a non-refundable £45 fee and then they would charge me "between £300-£400 for the repair". They could not give me a precise quote without paying the non-refundable £45.

I asked for the topcase and battery to be replaced anyway, no need to diagnose, if the problem persists that's fine, but I was told that they would have to charge the £45 anyway.

Wasted my time and now I have to travel to drop my laptop at an Apple Store where the diagnose is free (as it should be).

We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the information provided and would like to clarify the pricing discussed.

The initial figure quoted over the phone related to the estimated cost of the replacement part only. When you attended your appointment, our team explained that a £45 diagnostic fee applies, which is required to confirm the fault and provide an accurate repair quote. Following diagnostics, the total repair cost would have included the part cost plus our standard labour fee for fitting, which is why a wider estimate of £300–£400 was given at that stage.

Labour charges apply to all repairs and diagnostics are required before any work can proceed, even when a specific component is suspected. This is in line with Apple’s authorised repair process and is clearly outlined in our terms and conditions.

We appreciate that this may not have been communicated as clearly as it should have been over the phone, and we regret any frustration caused. However, no charges were taken without agreement, and the diagnostic process is necessary to ensure the correct repair is carried out.

Waste of time and money for nothing

It’s not an Apple Store. The registered company name is: Albion Computers Plc (read their reviews as well).

I should have read the other reviews first. This place turned out to be a complete waste of time and money for me.

I took my 5-month-old, barely-used laptop in due to a screen-flickering issue, and the first thing they told me was that they might charge me if I want to repair it because I in a limited warranty (the laptop condition is as good as new).

Anyway, I left the laptop with them as they promised an examination report within 24 hours.

After 24 hours, nothing was received. I called, and they said they would send the report email within minutes. 2 hours later, still nothing.

I ended up going back to the shop to pick up my laptop. There was no examination report, just a bunch of greasy prints on the keyboard.

PS: There’s also now a minor scratch on the Apple logo, but I didn’t have the energy to argue about it.

I will avoid shops with such dodgy practices at all costs.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and would like to clarify what happened during your visit.

We were unable to locate a repair appointment under your name, nor were we shown a confirmation email, but we proceeded with a walk-in appointment as a courtesy so we could still assess your Mac. As the device was within warranty, no payment was taken. Our technician followed Apple’s required procedures by explaining the booking-in process and the circumstances under which a repair may fall outside warranty.

As this was a walk-in, the turnaround time for the diagnostic report should have been set more clearly, and we understand the delay was frustrating.

We have reviewed our drop-off photographs and cannot identify any fingerprints or scratches, and these concerns were not raised at collection.

We would also like to reassure you that we are an Apple Premium Reseller and Authorised Service Provider. This means we work in direct partnership with Apple, and all repairs are carried out by Apple-trained technicians using approved processes and tools.

Great service from the Tunbridge Wells store

The gentleman I dealt with in the Tunbridge Wells store was very helpful and friendly, and - having ordered the IPad Pro I wanted, as the shop didn’t have it in stock, I duly received it at home the next day. Excellent service, as per usual.

Used iStore website as I knew they were an official Apple reseller. I purchased an item from their clearance section. Their website is very well set out and easy to use. The item was received quickly via safe tracked delivery. It was, in my opinion, in better condition than they had graded it. Very happy. Recommended

Happened across the Crawley branch from using the torturous Apple help bot.
Elbowing colleague out the way saying “I’m the techie here” a lad informed us the bricked iPhone 13pro, in a boot loop, was worthless. We could forget about data recovery and as it was purchased via Back market it would never work again, apparently their reviews are an AI generated lie. Glad my 13 year old son had the experience, particularly when Hazelden in Redhill recognised the issue over the phone and fixed the phone completely when part arrived.

Your iPhone was purchased through a third-party refurbisher and had non-Apple parts and unauthorised repairs previously carried out. As an Apple Authorised Service Provider, we are strictly required to follow Apple’s guidelines, which means we can only work with genuine Apple parts and tools. When a device has been tampered with or fitted with unsupported components, we cannot safely perform repairs or be held responsible for any resulting malfunction. In such cases, Apple authorises us only to offer a whole unit replacement.

We understand this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for, but our team provided the options that Apple allows in these circumstances. We are pleased to hear that your device was ultimately fixed, and we hope it continues to work well for you.
