I had one of the most unsettling parking experiences I’ve ever encountered at this garage. The attendant quoted me an outrageous $85 for a three‑hour stay — more than double the posted rate — and only backed down when I refused and started to leave. He then tried to push a $40 cash “street parking” deal, insisting it had to be paid upfront because he was “leaving for the night.”

As a woman alone with my teenage daughter, the situation felt predatory and unsafe. The insistence on cash, the refusal to honor posted rates, and the off‑the‑books arrangement were all huge red flags. If I had paid him, I would’ve had no receipt, no proof, and no guarantee I’d even get my car back.

I reported this to Reliant Parking — the company publicly listed as the operator — and their response was slow, dismissive, and ultimately claimed they don’t manage this location. No accountability. No concern for customer safety. No effort to identify who does operate the garage.

Until the operator publicly addresses this behavior and confirms corrective action, I strongly recommend avoiding this garage — especially for women or anyone arriving late in the evening.

Note: This parking address is icon but im not sure why its says Reliant Parking they might be one in the same.

On August 2nd, I arrived at the Icon Parking garage at 225 W 83rd Street with a confirmed SpotHero reservation. The attendant, Manny, treated my family and me with blatant disrespect. When we arrived, he waved us off to say there's "NO PARKING". However, I told him I had a reservation; he started arguing with me and claimed Icon is not connected to SpotHero, which is simply not true. Icon partners with SpotHero, and their staff should know this. I used SpotHero to make a reservation, and it was nearly $40 dollars.

His tone, attitude, and overall treatment toward us were humiliating and completely unprofessional. Meanwhile, he was noticeably polite to other customers who happened to be White. The contrast in treatment was disturbing and unacceptable. This felt like racism. It felt like, " We don't want your kind here, and this employee looks like he's Mexican.

I will escalate this incident to senior management because no customer should ever experience this level of disrespect. Icon Parking needs to retrain or review your staff's conduct at this location immediately.

P.S. I will NEVER give ICON Parking my hard earned money ever again! I will walk 5 or 10 blocks away if I have to park at a more professional parking place.

Parking went well. I trust icon with my vehicle. Remember please treat the workers well ,tip them , be courteous. Abnoxious people make everyone wait longer. Check your car b4 you leave it. Walk around it take photos ,videos. These are professionals. They will take care of your vehicle. Ive used them hundreds of times. Never an issue. If you like your car park at icon. Use the app for discounts. It works for me. Thanks.

This is not parking for the Hyatt. I am reminding you this is not parking for the Hyatt if you think you’re parking here and going to the Time New York expect to pay $160 especially airfare over 24 hours. We pulled in thinking this was parking for the Hyatt Time, New York, nor is it parking for the grand Hyatt even though the parking garage is underneath the hotel.

I prepaid with spot hero $30 for 3 hours, I then came less than 15 minutes late for pickup and they charge me an additional $54. I totally expect to pay some late fee for 15 minutes. but this is Completely unacceptable

Very rude staff on multiple occasions. No visibility into if spots are available especially later in the day. Avoid at all costs because of the poor customer service

Very disappointing experience.

In my experience, this garage was extremely difficult to deal with after I reported damage to my vehicle following a valet stay. The parking conditions also appeared very tight, which did not inspire confidence about how vehicles are being handled inside.

What made the situation worse was how UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE the process felt afterward. The phone number listed online for the garage was not working when I tried to report the issue. When I went back in person, the manager was not there, and I was told to follow up later. Communication after that was poor and frustrating.

I specifically asked about CCTV footage from drop-off and pickup because that seemed like the fairest and most objective way to verify the condition of my car before and after the valet stay. Instead, I was told the claim was denied, and they refused to provide or allow review of the footage and records they said they relied on in their investigation.

Overall, the lack of transparency, the refusal to meaningfully address questions about footage, and the unprofessional handling by management made this a very bad customer experience. I expected much better accountability and communication from a valet garage.

First time to NY and purchased parking via an APP. Drove into two garages along East 53rd street. On each occasion showed them the app booking and they said it was not their car park booking. Drove into Sutton house Garages at 06.42 pm and the parking attendant said, YES, this was the right place with the right booking. Went to pick up my car the next day and a new parking attendant said nope wrong car park. Would not release my car until I paid $49, as I was heading off to the Airport to catch my flight back to the UK. I would like my money back please for dishonest information and have ended up paying twice.

Website booking worked perfectly. Drop off and pickup were very smooth. The attendant was very nice and respectful.

In the particular garage I was using, the entrance has a sharp curve going down as you drive to the point where the attendant takes the car. Due to cars parked improperly on the exit lane, blocking the flow, the attendant wanted me to back up my car on that curve so that cars exiting could come into my lane and exit. I refused because it wasn't an easy maneuver to back up with that curve and I did not want risk hitting anything and the attendant got upset with me. What he should have done was have another attendant in the entrance controlling the flow of cars in and out to facilitate the exit of the cars from the garage or better yet make.aure no cars are parked blocking the flow of traffic in/out. This was on Tuesday January 27th at Icon Parking 250 West 40th Street.

The garage was closed for maintenance. I reached out via email to inquire about a refund. My inquiry was never acknowledged. I spent $60 and was unable to use the garage that evening. The location was 257-259 west 47th st. NY

82.00 for a little over an hour for HSS appointment...No signs for fees..convenience fee 4.00 service fee 1.50 these people need to be investigated. Price gouging to take advantage of sick people disgusting.

We booked our spot in the parking lot but for some reason it went to 30 minutes after the time we arrived. We left over an hour early but we’re charged 40 dollars despite the sign saying 17 dollars. The guys were rude and aggressive and would not release our car unless we paid. They would not let us speak to a supervisor either. We were scared of these men. Very aggressive.

every time I use icon reservation the on site attendant tries to charge me more or ignores the prepaid status.
