HSL Chairs - Southampton Omdömen 

Received HSL Double bed, overall however there are some small items that could be improved:

First on install, i was asked which side I would like the wired remote. I selected left hand side. However it quickly became apparent that given the mechanism was on right of bed that the given cable was too short, it is approximately 60cm on either side of coiled section of about 30cm, totalling 150cm (not sure of stretched uncoiled length), thus too short. Pulling cable etc.. coiled section simply gets caught up and whilst one could attach it to side of bed one could not pull it up and use it whilst in bed.

Hence whist not ideal I rerouted remote to other side, then called HSL customer service and eventually got extension, which i have now installed as desired.
I would recommend HSL either supply extension with bed or give installers stock in their truck. Furthermore I would preinstall cable clips to make such an installation easier.

Secondly there was no HSL instruction supplied with bed, there was Hypnos instruction regarding mattress care. Customer service did supply sone online documentation, that duplicated that of Hypnos. However nothing mentioned two items that i feel should be documented:

1) there are two 9V batteries connected to mechanism, these are to allow user to recline bed in eventuality of power cut. This is similar to chairs (which is mentioned in online documentation

2) there are sliders on central slats to adjust firmness, on either side of bed, this is not documented at all, but may well be useful to some.

Michael the demonstrator knew what he was talking about, and was up to speed with the product.

This was a home assessment. Very helpful and knowledgeable about my needs. Patient and thorough and made sure I was comfortable. Valentine and Mike worked well together and explored all the options ready for the delivery.

All staff but especially Beth was patient, cheerful and knowledgeable about the product, in this visit, a recliner chair. We were given time to decide on ‘best fit’ and consider our personal budget - not rushed into a purchase. Wonderful feeling on leaving the showroom, Beth’s professionalism reassured us our decision had been the right one. Thank you Beth.

I visited HSL at Hedge End last week and purchased a Reclining chair. I found the whole experience excellent. Brian served us, and he could not do enough for us. He explained all the different types of chairs, and I sat in most until I found the right one. Brian explained all the extras I could have and the cost. I cannot wait for my chair to be delivered as it will be assembled by the staff, and all the operations will be explained.

Staff attentive and patient when visited the store. The chair we ordered was delivered on the date as arranged. The delivery men were polite and friendly. The chair looks well made and it is comfortable. This chair was bought to replace a recliner I didn’t really like and I am surprised how much lighter it is, in fact a couple times I thought it might tip backwards but I just need to get used to it. Extremely pleased that they still stocked the fabric that I had before ,so it matches my husbands chair.

Visited HSL Southampton/Hedge End a few times to buy adjustable bed/mattress.

Eventually with Lydia’s helped ordered on.

If there was anything to complain about, I guess it would be be price and delivery schedule, but then again it’s a premium, made to order product.

A warm friendly welcome when we walked into the store and Ellie ensured we had all options open to us. Alternatives were presented and all information available with no pressure at all.
I left the store with details of what was available to think things over.
I returned the following day hoping to see Ellie again and continue our discussion with a view to ordering the arm chair. Unfortunately it was her day off but we were helped by a friendly male assistant Brian, and eventually an order was placed. Just before everything was finalised he suddenly said “my shift is over I have to go now”. Shook our hands and left with no real explanation and left us a little stunned!
Apart from that it was a good experience and I can certainly recommend the company on their handling of customers.

Made to feel wecome, not just another customer.All questions fully answered. Coffee and biscuits most refreshing. Patrica even escorted me to my car with an umbrella, shielding me from a sharp downpour of rain.

The sales staff in our local HSL Chairs shop in Southampton went over and above in helping my husband and I to find suitable chairs that fitted us and our personal needs. We were told that they would take 6-8 weeks to arrive and we were pleasantly surprised that they cam 5 weeks later on 16th October . The two delivery guys, Jason and Ashley were very friendly and professional. We had a phone call to tell us what time they would arrive and they were on time. They made sure we knew how to operate our chairs and they were situated where we wanted them. All in all a very pleasant experience from ordr to delivery.

Great friendly advice and service from sales person. Delivered on time. Great quality product all over. Delivery drivers were very helpful and friendly. I fully recommend this company for their excellent service and the quality of the product is 100% throughout. 5 ***** all the way

Having come to the decision at our time of life that we needed furniture that would be comfortable to sit in and suit our needs. We decided on HSL and used your store in Hedge End where we were well treated and informed what would suit us and given enough time and information. Lydia who dealt with us was excellent resulting in us ordering 3 chairs.

HSL were brilliant when recently ordering recliner/riser chairs for my parents. Brian in the Southampton Hedge End branch was fantastically helpful and thorough, and Martin and Jack were superb when delivering and installing.

I visited HSL at their Hedge End, Southampton branch looking to purchase two 2 motor riser/recliner chairs for my wife and myself. I was approached by Brian, one of HSL's comfort specialists (salesman to you and me) who asked what I was looking for. He directed me towards the range of chairs most suitable to what I was looking for.
Brian made me really feel at ease, asked my wife and myself to sit down and make ourselves comfortable. Brian then told me what HSL were all about. He explained that HSL were there to assess the most suitable chairs for their customers. Brian explained that all of their comfort specialists were trained by occupational therapists to find the most suitable chair for the customers size and build. At no time did Brian apply any pressure to buy, he was very much customer focused.
Brian assesed a suitable chairs for us both, which we really liked (the Aysgarth range), he agreed the height and width were suitable for our height and sizes. I was then explained the difference between the 2 and 4 motor versions which really opened my eyes, the 4 motor versions were so much more suited to our requirements.
I must mention at this stage, that I, generally, really hate salesmen, I find them really pushy and that gets my back up and I usually get angry and leave, but not this time, Brian was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and in no way pushy, unlike other showrooms I had visited that day.
I was so impressed with the quality of the chairs that I ordered two, of different sizes, both with 4 motors.
Whilst the "paperwork" was being done, Maria and Ellie provided hot chocolate and biscuits for us.
I am now awaiting delivery of the chairs, but judging by the showroom service, I'm sure it will be first class.

Ordered my new automatic bed from the Hedge End store. Ellena looked after me, spent time appraising me of everything I needed to know. Today, my bed was delivered by Martin and Leon, they were very friendly, quick and efficient and helpful in answering my questions and giving advice. Looking forward to my first nights sleep in my new bed. Thank you to everyone involved

Mike and Valentine, visited us and were on time. Both were informative and helpful and made us feel comfortable with our browsing and eventual choice of chair. Would recommend hsl chairs on this basis. Just hope the delivery experience is as good.

Our chair was delivered this morning by Martin and Leon. They were great. The chair is very heavy and they had to go through 3 doors, which wasn’t that easy as we have a front porch. We did have to wait for the chair for a few weeks but it was well worth it. Thanks guys for setting it all up for us.

Visited the showroom in Hedge End. Was welcomed and after browsing was offered a cup of tea whilst ordering my sofa. Ordering was easy. Was kept informed when delivery would be. The sofa was delivered by Jason and Ashley, who put it together and showed us how it worked. An excellent job done by everyone; well done.

A Sunday morning visit to purchase a new armchair/settee. The experience was wonderful and the whole sales journey was explained. Coffee & Biscuits included!! Thank you to Patricia for guiding my father through everything. The express delivery option meant the armchair arrived early Wednesday morning. Life has been made so much easier!

From start to finish was perfect. Showed our two choices, in our house. Not pushy at all.
Delivered and installed on time.
There was a tiny snag on the material of the arm of one of the sofas. Sent us a technician who somehow majically made it disappear.
Sofas and chair very supportive and comfy, unlike the ones we bought at John Lewis which ended up in the rubbish tip after two years.
Can not fault the service
