Complete fraud. My assistant thought she was booking directly with hotel. When I got the actual hotel receipt the total cost with local room taxes was $203.35. My card was charged $344.30. The invoice started by claiming the room cost was $262.52, then they added what they called "Taxes and Fees" of $63.72 - however all such taxes were covered in the $203.35 price. They admitted that none of the $63.72 went to taxes and no one could explain the room cost difference of $59.17 that was added before their $17.99 Service fee and fake tax charge. I finally got to a so-called supervisor who said they would respond via e-mail with-in 5 days regarding a refund - we shall see.

Never use Hotel Reservation 800-497-2175. Booked 8 rooms for 3 nights through these CROOKS, needed to cancel 1 room a month before check in. First call to the 800 number I was told I had to cancel all 8 rooms and then rebook. 2nd call I had to pay a 1 night fee to cancel. The rule and regulations dealing with these people changes all the time.
They misrepresented themselves as the hotel, lied about all the great services they provide and lock you in so you can only pay them more dollars to modify anything. SHADY characters.

scam! they let you think you're calling the hotel directly. In my case they didn't even book the hotel for the right date, so it was a total loss of money.

Thought I was booking direct via holiday park website. Paid $132 for a 1 bed en-suite unit at Rangiora Eco Holiday Park, was given a $84 rent-a-room trailer with a garden shed (with stained toilet, no light or running water). Eco must stand for Economical (with the truth). Owner blamed Booking.com (which I had not used). Filthy holiday park, run down, everything dirty. Do not stay here. Check URL when booking and avoid hotelreservations.com like the plague.

I thought inwas booking directly with redroof inn. They charged me 144$ for a 81$ a day room. My girlfriend had covid the first and last time I thought I was using them. They informed me that my same day cancelation was from the hotel not agreeing. The same hotel i had booked through them before, canceled my same day booking a couples weeks later because my girlfriends uncle had passed away. So, hotel reservations lied and tried to put it on redroof inn. I tried to contact the business, but the automated service won't allow me to progress past the beginning. It's continuously hangs up on me! Pay attention to who you're using and avoid reservation.com!!!

As a small hotel owner, I believe this company is perpetrating fraud. They have impersonated us on numerous occasions and have charged excessive fees. They do not allow us to communicate with the guest directly, so we cannot provide guests the best experience. Their phone number comes up as if you were calling the hotel directly and they act as if they work for the hotel directly. I don’t know if I have legal recourse, but they are a detriment to our business.

Consumer fraud at a grand scale...falsely mimic actual hotel site and hijack your reservation...tack on excessive service charges and dont allow changes/cancellations.

Extrem hohe Buchungsgebühr - grenzt schon an Betrug!
Im Glauben auf der Homepage des Hotels zu sein habe ich mein Zimmer gebucht. Der Preis für das Zimmer betrug 470 € und der abgebuchte Betrag war 658 €. Fast 200 € betrug die Buchungsgebühr also 40 % des eigentlichen Preises kamen on Top dazu. Das Portal bucht auch nicht selbst bei den Hotels, sondern nutzt z.B. - wie in meinem Fall Booking.com dafür.
Das passiert mir hoffentlich nie wieder.

I would score this company zero if I could. They are scam artists who slap on $100 for nothing. They are crooks so not use this service. You have been warned !🤬

Absolutely horrible experience. Made a reservation for Jan 13, and when I got confirmation, the date was Dec 24. I called for them to fix the mistake and they said no cancellations were allowed. The room was $400 and charged over $500 to cancel! Insane! Was stuck with the scam and not happy. DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY.

I will not reserve through HotelReservations.com again. Cancellations are incredibly difficult and obtaining a refund took persistence.

My experience with was disappointing. The tour was poorly planned, with activities that were not well thought out or executed. The guide lacked enthusiasm and failed to engage the group, resulting in a lackluster experience. The advertised "adventure" felt more like a series of mundane tasks, and there was no effort to make the day memorable. The logistical issues, such as delays and unclear instructions, only added to the frustration. Overall, this tour was forgettable and not worth the time or money

Tried to book a room for two nights, price quoted was $294. After entering card details I was billed $840, including a ‘service fee’ of $256. They refused to cancel unless I paid the cancellation fee of $632!!!

Fees not disclosed at checkout. Room charge was $247. Discount to be applied was shown as $14.25. Total amount charged at confirmation was $361.18. $92.38 charged for tax recovery charges and service fees. $21.80 resort fee. Discount was not applied to any amount on the confirmation. I was told the reservation would not be cancelled and they would only provide a $24 credit as a courtesy.

Mistakenly and unknown to me, I made a reservation at a hotel using HotelReservations.com. Their add made it look, exactly, like I was booking directly with the hotel. Upon receiving the booking confirmation, I immediately noticed that I made a mistake and made the reservation for the wrong day. I immediately called HotelReservations (number hard to find), cancelled the res but they will be charging me 25% of the total amount, as a fee for cancelling, which, again, I called immediately to change the date. Furthermore, I learned through a separate email confirmation from a different company, that I am paying $17.00 that is baked into the total hotel fee for cancellation insurance, which I did not knowing sign up for and is baked into their fine print. I learned from speaking directly with the hotel, that they did call the hotel to inquiry about a full refund, which the hotel said yes to, but they HotelReservations will not credit the hotel cost, nor the 25% cancellation fee. They are a very sneaky and unethical company and I strongly recommend NOT doing business with them.

The cost of the hotel has been credited but not the 25% cancellation fee, which again, I called 2 minutes after making the incorrect res.

My experience was similar to everyone else. I thought I was talking directly to the motel. I was promised a refundable reservation. Once I arrived at the property and saw the horrible condition of the room I immediately canceled the reservation. I received an email 2 days later saying that a refund was being processed. That was 4 weeks ago. Each time I call I get the same song and dance.

Do not use! My experience was similar to other reviewers: called and thought I was talking to the hotel directly. I was assured over the phone I had a refundable rate. They charged me $20 for the refundable rate, but then wouldn’t credit my card when I canceled the reservation. They outright lie to you on the phone. Hotel told me I reserved through Expedia, but I never called or talked to anyone from Expedia. They are posing as the actual hotel. Had to dispute the credit card charges to get my credit.

As other people have reported, we thought we were dealing directly with our hotel. Intentionally wanted to do this for the best price. Instead, at checkout our hotel told us we'd get a better rate next time if we booked directly through them. When I stated that I DID book through them they said no, it was with Expedia. I looked at my credit card statement and IT said it was HotelReservations.com. What a mess. I have no idea who I actually paid or booked through. No one was helpful. Do NOT reserve through these guys- beware!
