They will send you an email saying your review is live. You will know you haven't submitted a review. They then want you to change it and for that you need to input your email address AND consent to receiving marketing from them. Ignore them and wish they have a very bad accident...

I used HostAdvice to find a VPS physically located in Armenia (Yerevan). Their "10 Best Armenia VPS Hosting Services" page presents a ranked list that looks like an objective, location-based comparison — but most of the top entries have no datacenter in Armenia at all.

Concrete examples I verified on the providers' own websites:

Ultahost — ranked #1 ("Expert's Choice") for Armenia, but its actual datacenter is in Frankfurt, Germany. The "Armenia VPS" page is just SEO wording, no Armenian location.
MVPS.net — ranked #2, but its real location list is Europe only (Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, UK, Greece, Cyprus, Ireland, Sweden, Italy). No Armenia option exists in their order flow.
Other names in the list (Hostinger, Kamatera, IONOS, HostArmada, Knownhost) also have no Armenian datacenter.

This directly contradicts HostAdvice's own claim that its reviews are "fully independent" and "unbiased." A ranking sorted by an "Armenia" filter should only contain providers that actually offer Armenia — otherwise it's advertising (affiliate "Visit Site" links) disguised as a location-based comparison, and it wastes readers' time.

Please either remove providers without a genuine Armenian datacenter from the Armenia list, or clearly label these entries as paid/affiliate placements that do not offer the selected location.

Das ist alles nur scam. Es macht nicht mal Sinn was die schreiben. Du suchst nach einem Hoster für VPS in einer bestimmten Location, die Seite schlägt dir nur Hoster vor, die diese Location nicht mal haben. Macht wirklich 0 Sinn, keine Ahnung wie die sich halten können. 0 Mehrwert.

Now I guess most, if not all of the stuff they recommend is randomly diced by who pays most. The selection of what providers they recommend are pretty much the same.
When I want to see providers for a specific country, I would like to have a selection of about 100% of providers who actually host there, not 10%. It would also be great if that one option seems trustworthy or has good offers.
If someone used a brain a few minutes for fact-checking instead of copy pasta, maybe they would even generate revenue from affiliate links. (They don't seem to have classic ads)

Suddenly started spamming me out of the blue claiming I was their customer - I AM NOT.
Asked them multiple times where they got my email address & they're ignoring me.
Clearly a company that can't be trusted if they're abusing personal data like this

Host advice used to be my go-to resource for checking out new hosting offers, but unfortunately, it has recently become mostly marketing-focused and unhelpful for users. No matter how hard you try to search for different deals or products, you'll get the same list of companies with affiliate links that are not necessarily relevant to what you're looking for. It's truly disappointing to see this decline. I hope i can change my review soon.

It's a SCAM!
These have a bunch of fake reviews on their site and will not publish any critical review that you might send them. Will only publish good reviews about scam companies.

Scam.
They pin positive comments (we all know why).

Even their "24/7 support" is just a window with an "AI" chat (which in turn can't even handle basic questions)

Sells scam hosting company top ranking reviews and recommendations. Completely unprofessional company using fake details from addresses to names. Don't be fooled, they're based in Pakistan and have no problem emailing abuse to you when they are called out.

Stay as far away as you can.
