Home Smart Energy have been outstanding!!! A breath of fresh air to deal with. You always speak to a human, nothing seems to be a problem for them to sort out, they are knowledgeable, polite, trustworthy, fair, accommodating, reliable and deliver on what they say they are going to do!! Before, during and after your job! So far, I have experienced excellent aftersales care and attention. I really can't fault them! The only negative I can think of is their install electricians, who are like a whirlwind, leave rubbish everywhere. A very minor issue. Otherwise everything has been 1st class and is working beautifully! Thank you Home Smart Energy. I am a very happy and satisfied customer.

Great teamwork meant the installation was fast and accurate. Good communication from the team leader gave me all the immediate info I needed and pointers as to where to get the rest. Promised paperwork was received too.

My property's layout made this a slightly difficult installation, for both the solar panels and the storage battery, and so there were inevitably a few glitches along the way. What was most impressive was that at every turn the customer services and technical support staff were immediately on the case and could not have been more helpful. I have rarely experienced such friendly and supportive service - it almost made it a pleasure to have some minor issues to deal with. I'd highly recommend this company based on my experience.

Everyone we have dealt with before, during and afterwards for our solar installation, have been helpful & supportive. The actual installation only took a couple of hours!
When we contacted Home Smart for information & and advice, particularly on how the solar system operated and information we were seeing, they took time explaining and answering our questions. We couldn't recommend them enough!

Faultless service from initial contact to final installation. Knowledgeable salesman, competent electrician and installers. They came, they saw, they installed, they checked it was working, they left everything tidy. I'm sure any after sales care will be of just the same standard.
Panels and batteries have been in place for just over 3 months and we can generate and store electricity and I hope to be able to export spare electricity to the grid.

I worked in construction and property in London and Kent for forty years. I have first hand experience of the good, bad and the ugly across these sectors. Home Smart Energy are excellent. The surveyor (Steve) who initially visited, the scaffolders (PRS Ltd), roofers (Barry) and electrician (Barry) were all professional, efficient, tidy, polite and very helpful.  The office staff in customer services (Jordan & Lili), finance (Danielle) and technical support (Harry & Kai) are all professional, helpful and knowledgeable . The wealth of information, warranties, certificates and their monitoring app are all reassuring, useful and easy to understand. The whole process from initial contact to scaffold strike in just under a month was slick and coordinated.  Well done and thanks.

We got what we were promised and installed by good and polite workers in the time that was expected. The System is great and we don't actually purchase from the grid during long sunny days.

One year since my 10 panels were installed. Absolutely satisfied with them. The team that installed the panels worked at a rate of knots. Started the job mid-afternoon and worked until dusk. Back next morning to finish off along with the electrican. I asked for a specific cable run from roof to utility room. Though it was more awkward the electrician was happy to do it. Never had a problem since it was installed.

Back in Oct our local council dropped flyers about a solar scheme and that a company would be chosen by the November. We signed up and Smartfoam were the company to get the contract. By January the solar was installed.
From start to end it’s been a quick process, good communication, very efficient. The online survey suggested 8 panels, the physical survey said 13 and in fact it was little price difference and more cost effective to get the more. We went with a battery too.
Install was seamless. Done within a couple of hours by a team of 3. Everything was explained and the app is a nifty addition. It fascinates me watching the statistics in and out.
Following completion we got all relevant documentation within 7 days if not quicker.
Really pleased and impressed with the company. Thank you. Would highly recommend.

Avoid at all cost!
On 21 December my solar installation stopped working. Called Home Smart Energy and was told it could be February (!) until someone was available to fix it.
I then asked a local MCS registered electrician to have a look. Turns out the Home Smart Energy installer had failed to screw in the wires in the main switch; over time a loose connection had started to corrode. Shoddy work, but my guy fixed it.
Cue forward to 8 February 2024 and it's Home Smart Energy on the phone, saying they can now book a remedial visit TWO MONTHS LATER. I tell them it's repaired (at my own cost obviously, but hey). They then claimed I would lose my warranty! I told them to put all that in writing, and they said they would.
I felt this was shocking conduct, hence this review.

Update 21/2/2024
As of today, I have not received the alleged loss of warranty in writing. As soon as my review went online, they did respond on Trustpilot by promising another phone call. This call never came, but to be honest, I'd prefer a written apology anyway.
What they did however was flag my review as "defamatory". Now to be fair, they never put in writing what they had told me over the phone. For the moment I will therefore pretend they never said it.
As previously, my advice to them would be to just put their energy in customer service, instead of trying to be nasty.
My advice to any potential customer is to look elsewhere. Solar installations are complicated, and with time, things can go wrong. A warranty is worth nothing if it isn’t backed up by reliable customer service.
Also, 1. insist to get everything in writing so you have proof when they renege on promises, and 2. make sure you record your phone calls with them.

We had a problem with pigeons getting under the solar panels on our roof and needed mesh installed to prevent the problem.
From the moment I got in touch with Home Smart Energy, I got first class service. Jordan in the sales development team, was very helpful and went out of his way to ensure we got the best possible price for the work. He was friendly, efficient and I didn't feel I was being pressurised at any point. He was a pleasure to deal with.
The roofers were very professional and friendly as well. They did high quality work efficiently, tidily and with no fuss.
From the beginning to the end, the service I have received has been first class.

Whole service was fantastic, from the point of survey and information supplied then proceeding everything went smoothly. All clearly explained, everyone was on time and I am really happy with our Solar panel fitting experience. Our fitters were great, little hiccup with something in the survey but was soon sorted and complete within the day. Big thanks to Billy and Billy- would thorough recommend 😊 don’t hesitate to go with this company.

We were introduced to Home Smart Energy via our local council's Solar Together scheme, and we have been delighted with the process through to installation and beyond.

The process is well organised from beginning to end and is pretty seamless. The two fitters finished their previous job early and asked to come early to start on ours. They barely took a tea break and did a great job with the fit, keeping us informed along the way. Over our two roofs they fitted 8 + 4 panels rather than the surveyed 7 + 5 due to space restrictions but kept the arrays looking symmetrical and neat.

Ben the electrician managed to do a much better job hiding all the cables than the survey suggested would be possible, and so the lady of the house was very pleased !

The panels started generating power straight away and the app is very easy to follow to show what is being generated from where and where that power is going.

Just waiting for the final paperwork (their customer service team have been very good at answering any questions) and I will then be able to sell back excess power to the grid. I will also change my tariff to cheaper overnight rates to charge the battery array overnight for use during the day.

Just had my solar panel installation finished and I couldn't be happier - the initial surveyor was very clear and helpful with any queries, the scaffolders were quick and efficient, the installers were the same, and finally the electrician who hooked it all up did a fantastic job (and was really helpful with setting up the app to track everything). Any queries asked of Home Smart Energy were also dealt with quickly and clearly.

The costs were also very reasonable.

Best of all, I am immediately seeing savings from using my solar panels, and it's only been a day.

Dealing with Home Smart Energy has been a pleasure from start to finish and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

PS If you're interested in getting solar panels and your council contacts you about 'Solar Together' where installers bid for you and others' jobs as a 'group buy' (thereby reducing the cost as you're buying in bulk), do it, it's a great way to save on costs and have peace of mind as it's council-backed - this is what led me to Home Smart Energy who won the tender.

Great system and great support when i enquired about charging my battery overnight to take advantage of Octopus' cheap electricity. Special thanks to Simon for going the extra mile and getting it sorted!

Survey was very comprehensive and we were given very full information. The installation was very efficient. It only took a couple of hours and there was minimal mess which was immediately tidied.

Paperwork took longer than anticipated to come through but when it did it was all there so that connection to an export tariff was very quick.
It would have been nice to have been shown how to charge the batteries from the mains using inexpensive overnight rates which is a boon during the overcast days in the winter months. Also you can get twice as much for export during the day over import at night.

We had a excellent electrical engineer called Dan who telephoned us to say he was running late, he arrived at 7.10pm and was very assuring he could fix the problem, he had the batteries charging by 7.30pm. he insisted that he would stay to see if the problem was fixed and said he would review it which he did. He has since contacted to say the system is running perfectly.

Hugely impressed. We joined one of those Council-led solar local group buying schemes in August and were allocated to Home Smart Energy. I'd never heard of them until then, but I'm happy to say our experience has been outstanding.

We're complete newbies to solar so had loads of dumb questions to ask - everyone we've dealt with has been really helpful (and patient!) Each stage of the process happened exactly as and when promised, with the system going live yesterday. As I type, the house is running entirely on solar energy, drawing nothing from the grid at all. That feels good!

Except for the scaffolders rescheduling the work several times, the rest of the installation went like clockwork. The electrician Daniel, and the Roofers Tom and his mate (sorry, forgot his name) have to be commended for their attitude, courtesy, politeness, friendliness and work rate. Likewise, all office staff that I have dealt with have also been very friendly with a great attitude. I can't miss out the surveyor, who again showed professionalism, courtesy and again a great attitude. I would recommend this company and its workforce without hesitation. Well done Home Smart Energy.
