Hertz Romania Omdömen 6

Out of all the renters, these are the ones I'd recommend. One time I returned the car with stone chips on the front bumper from the highway and they said nevermind. I had to pay for the same thing to another rental company when I visited Cyprus. Last time with Hertz they give me a small white Hyundai with 11km on the dashboard (brand new). I ran a bit late returning it, so they called me to check if everything is OK - and I said I'll be a few hours late and they were fine with it.

My first trip to Romania, I hired a car from this outfit. Driving it north through the countryside on the first evening - knowing nothing of the poor state of the country's roads - I hit a pothole, popping a tyre. Changing the wheel in the mosquito-ridden darkness on a dirt side-road wasn't practical, so I called the (desk agent underlined) emergency number on the information card and a replacement car was sent. All well and good; I knew there'd be a surcharge, I was prepared for that, though not necessarily the £176 they did eventually deduct.

There were no incidents with the new car for the remainder of my stay. When I returned it to its Bucharest drop-off point, however, I was met with borderline aggression from a group of lads whose "good-cop/bad-cop" approach to customer relations seemed a little over-the-top for a burst tyre (though it was, perhaps, explicable by their evident lack of satisfaction with their career choices). One tried to lecture me on "driving to the conditions", until I pointed-out that I was just about the only person in Romania who drove at anything like the legal speed limit (true). The surly, resentful boy who drove me back to the airport pointedly refused to open the van doors for me or load and unload my luggage (and he looked like he could have done with the exercise), not a huge inconvenience but illustrative of the hostile attitude he and his colleagues routinely displayed.

The upshot is; if you value rudeness and an utter absence of anything approaching customer care, by all means rent your car from Hertz Bucharest. If, on the other hand, you don't, then choose someone else. Anyone else.

Hertz Timisoara was great at delivering the best service! I was pleased to see how professional they behave and greet the customers, the car was clean and ready for me to pick up on short notice. When I needed to add an extra-day it was as easy as just calling them it was all done. Big Plus as they accept debit cards too, not only credit cards.

Was impressed and I would totally recommend Hertz Timisoara ( Traian Vuia Airport) to others as well.

I had a good experience with Hertz stuff despite all the bad comments Wich I saw it before renting the car.
I've had my deposit back and everyone was happy.
Anyway to evoit any bad experience I recommend you pay full insurance!.

Dont trust them with anything. I inspected the car and it looked ok. returned it after 1 day and after few hours they send me a photo of a 1 mm chipped glass which one can hardly see. I am pretty sure it wasn't done by me as i would recall this kind of damege. they charged me 750 euro for that. just now when i read the reviews i realize this is there way to make money. be aware!!

Booked a car, saw the terms and conditions mentioned that you cannot book without a credit card. Called the local romanian desk and asked whether I can book with my debit card (not prepaid, not electronic) which worked in France/Germany. Local desk confirmed it works with my debit card. When I arrived on the spot, they simply refused to treat my reservations since I do not have a credit card - it says Debit on it. What was even more upsetting is that they did not even try anything with my card / I do not understand the technical reasons behind it as the card I hold has the capability to block any amount of money they would need.
I understand this is included in their T&C's but I would have expected the employee I phoned would tell me it simply does not work.
