Gardening Express Omdömen 

We bought 3 different clematis plants for GBP 70, and they arrived in an absolutely tragic state, wrapped in the most careless way, not labeled (so we don't know whether we got the species we requested) and BARELY alive. The customer service via an online bot was absolutely useless, but when I switched to emailing *theoretically* humans, it still feels like I'm dealing with poorly designed AI or just someone with zero interest in helping. It's been going on for weeks and I deeply regret not checking Trust Pilot before buying from them. Avoid by all means.

Absolutely horrendous company to deal with. Shoddy items, rude staff, staff that don't pay attention to detail, staff that just quote policy, policy, policy and hide behind it. Plants are dead and miraculously, hey presto, according to the company, they're not ones included in the 5yr guarantee.

This company are rubbish ,will never use them again my fuchsia, standard trees were shrivelled when arrived, been in a warehouse over the weekend in the heatwave, customer service chatbot useless, they don't answer email, should go bankrupt. Edward Mullen

Do not use this company, the plants don't arrive and you go round and round in circles trying to get a refund, I still haven't had mine. They constantly lie about the date of your order and the plants just don't arrive.

Update - I did receive the plants. Condition not great but I am sure it will be fine any grow into a healthy plant. Overall, I would not use this company again but it turned out okay in the end.

Plants never arrived. Customer service asked to send photos of the order which hadn't arrived. Got nowhere.... will give it a few days and then contact bank for chargeback. Luckily I paid by CC.

I placed a £90 order in February, watered the plants and kept them frost free while they were dormant. It was apparent by May that all were dead except one. Gardening express refused a refund as too much time had gone by. I will never use them again and would advise others against it.

I bought a wisteria tree, £70 plus delivery. The item arrived battered, leaves falling off, in generally poor condition and not at the height I purchased. I wrote to the company as soon as I opened the item, and provided pictures of the disatisfaction and effected plant. I received a response after chasing, advising me to send photos, and provide all the original packaging pictures to confirm it was bought from them... rude in my opinion when they can see my order, and tracking. I provided this on no less than 6 occasions, totally 20 pictures each time yet they still said they werent good enough. went round and round in circles for over a week, only to then be advised yes they can see there was an issue with the product delivered (despite my somewhat 10 emails and photos. they offered me £10 refund! avoid this company, awful products and awful customer service. The plant is basically dead.

Missing order
I ordered a pair of standard roses, a pair of standard patio roses and a white wisteria on 6/6/26 and received an immediate e-mail reply, acknowledging the order with an order number. On 11/6/26 I received an e-mail giving the same information and confirming that they aim to send the order within 5 to 10 working days from the order date. As it is now 22/6/26 i.e. 16 days since the date of my order i.e. outside the maximum time and having no more contact from Gardening Express, I contacted them via their chatbot. I received a standard ‘holding’ message saying that they had logged an ‘issue’ with the order and will e-mail me with an update within three days. If I ever receive the plants, I anticipate that they will be in a such a poor condition that they will not survive. Update to follow.

I will NEVER shop with Gardening Express again. I ordered a Margaret Merrill white floribunda rose in memory of my grandmother. Not too expensive at £18 but not cheap either. The plant I was sent is an unknown pink rose. I tried to email, got a response saying that the email address is not monitored. Tried to use the 'chat' which does NOT work at all. Absolutely disgusted. Don't waste your money. Use a reputable company. It's worth paying the extra for the plants you actually want, that don't die!

All of the plants I purchased were dead on arrival. I contacted Gardening express after 10 emails and chat site, absolute waste of time. I would advise anyone thinking of purchasing anything from this company not to do so…..

There is nothing express about gardening express. Despatch times are shockingly bad!

I’m not sure if they should have the option of using the word express in their logo. Thus far I am 12 days in from placing my order and it still hasn’t been dispatched. I “raised a ticket” through their automated customer service, apparently they will get back to me within 24 hours, we’re 48 hours in and not a word from them.
This company is not worth the hassle—highly recommend that you shop elsewhere for plants!

GE have replied and agreed to credit the items not shipped. I'll have to wait to see if the Tulipa Tarda bounce back in Spring. I am still waiting for another order to be sent out so hope the condition is an improvement. Changed the rating to reflect the communication.

Plants arrived, partially shipped. 6 plants are just pots of soil. They are packed ok and all watered but not fantastic. The 6 pots of Tulipa Tarda AKA soil pots are disgraceful. I think I would have been better donating my cash to a much needed Charity. Awaiting a response from GE. Hopefully they can sort it out by sending my refund. Wish I could upload a pic. Come on GE this type of service is unacceptable.

Absolutely disgusting company avoid at all costs! I purchased a Acer tree. It arrived half head, dry, infested in ants and beetles. It had been flung over my 8 foot gate therefore also had been out of its soil until I got home. I instantly sent photos across to the company who advised I would need to pay for a return? The tree arrived not as described at all compared to the photos on their website and The condition of the tree is awful!
Fast forward 3 weeks the tree is now completely dead. I followed the after care advice they palmed me off with which clearly did not work as it was well on its way to death when I received it. I am now being completely refused a refund as they’re trying to claim I have not followed their advice. Absolutely disgusting! Daylight robbery! Please please do not buy from this company. I shall be reporting to trading standards

I received a poor excuse for a magnolia yellow bird, what arrived was a 7ft twig with 3 leaves!! I have issued a complaint, asked for a refund, I keep trying to get a sensible reply, since 23rd April. All I wanted was a replacement, but now I just want a refund if £49.99 so I can go to another nursery and buy one

Paid nearly £80 for plants that arrived wilted and dying, after a few weeks were dead. After a great deal of hassle, I found their chat and asked for help. They were so unhelpful and their attitude was 'tough luck'. No refund or replacements. Please avoid this company, they are thieves!!

Guys, you’re better off spending a bit more and knowing you’ll get something healthy and thriving. £22 for four dead or barely alive plants – I can’t even begin to describe the terrible condition these plants are in.
