I run a very busy bakery and this means that food packaging piles up so fast. Changing waste companies felt risky, but we took the a chance with GWR because the council rates were getting silly. Lucy sorted out a weekly collection plan for our general waste and cardboard. Getting the actual bins provided for free was a huge help for our budget too. Every single pickup has been right on schedule and they always lock the back gate behind them. Just a really decent company doing a good job.

What an absolute lifesaver this company has been! Jack got our pub sorted with a free glass bin the very same day we called and the price was spot on. They actually turn up on time every week without fail.

Our bins weren’t getting emptied, but one of the girls in the office got a different company to take over emptying our bins for us and the new driver even emptied our old bins as well as the new ones.

Absolutely terrible service we have had numerous issues where the bins have not been collected and any and all attempts to get a rectification have fallen on deaf ears. staff are non communicative and simply ignore basic requests. We neighbour another company that does have their bins collected however the collection guys state they can't find us or our bins, absolute hogwash we are no more than 500 metres from the other venue. We would terminate this contract if we could but there is a significant fee we are looking into breach of contract as they are failing in their contracted duties, bins are overflowing. when they eventually turned up emptied the bin but left the excess which they had failed to collect previously. no invoices are supplied so keeping track of what we are being charged for is impossible. Nightmare just simply avoid. Customer Service Non Existent

Trustpilot is magical. Person J from GWR has responded with a whatsapp message that he tried to make contact 11 days after the initial query and could not get thru to my phone. Another excuse! I did not even receive a missed call.
I am saved by them being inept. I called GWR on 09 March 2026 and spoke to Person L regarding waste collection for my two businesses. I was told that Person J will call me to discuss the prices. I never received a call so I called again on 13 March and spoke to Person L again and was assured that Person J will call definitely. Still no one called me. I called again to on 18 March only to tell them I am not interested and spoke to a Per person C. I explained to him how I have been expecting a call from Person J and I am not interested anymore and how I have been very disappointed by the lack of professionalism. Person C said, I will let Person J know, to which is said you would rather tell his manager as telling him anything is like telling something to wall. I have just realised how bad are the reviews and now I want to thank Person J for not calling me back 🙂

Avoid this company. We have experienced repeated missed collections for over 3 weeks with no resolution.
The service does not match what was promised at the point of sale, and communication has been poor throughout.
This has caused serious disruption to our business operations. We are now escalating the matter to the relevant authorities.

Should be a zero star rating... dont listen to the 5 star reviews they are lies. This company is a rip off merchant! Dont sign their contract as you won't be able to get out of it!

Don’t bother, unprofessional and rude people, they have no idea how to run or manage a company , they operate in some ways that don’t even seem legitimate and they are questionable. Had only problems with them 2.5 years. They kept charging my card after the end of our contract and despite having written confirmation on multiple occasions that after the end of the contract I don’t wish to continue, they confirmed too, but kept charging my bank for 3 months. After I realised and let them know about that, they agreed they are wrong but still refuse to give a refund by finding the most absolutely non sense reasons. Save your business and money and stay away.
Update regarding their answer:
If you guys want to look like a company that follows the laws and you are legit, try at first place not to charge illegally your clients when the contract has expired. You didn’t mention anything about this because you know the BS you have done.

Unfortunately our experience with GWR has been very disappointing.
We experienced repeated missed or delayed waste collections over several months, requiring staff to regularly chase services by phone. While collections were often later “caught up”, the ongoing unreliability caused disruption to our operations.
When concerns were raised, responsibility was deflected on the basis that GWR acts as a broker. We were told that delays do not constitute a breach of contract and that our only options were to remain in contract until 2027 or pay an early termination fee of £2,320.50 plus VAT. This position was upheld at director level, with the service failings defended as acceptable within the waste sector.
After months of issues, the suggestion to move us to a different supplier was only raised at the end of the process.
The lack of accountability for a regulated waste service is concerning. We would advise other organisations to carefully consider service reliability and exit terms before signing a long-term contract.

We have been with GWR Waste Management since 2020, but over the last months both the collection service and customer service have gone significantly downhill.
Collections are frequently missed with no communication at all. When you call the office, you’re told they will “check with the supplier and get back to you” — but they never do. As a result, you end up spending a large part of the business day chasing and checking, which is completely unacceptable.
The contracts are also very customer-heavy, with plenty of obligations on the customer’s side but little to no accountability on theirs. For example, if a collection is missed on a Monday, they won’t return until Friday, and then still come again the following Monday to collect just 3 bags from a 110L bin — yet charge the full amount as if the service had been delivered properly.
Unfortunately, due to the strict 3-month notice period, we missed the cancellation window and are now tied in for another year, despite the ongoing service issues. This has made the situation even more frustrating, as we are paying for a service that is unreliable and poorly managed.

Worst Servise ever they charge you do not trust them 70 kg for 2 times a month from 28 pounds I ended paying over 70 pounds. While the premises was not operating, then I moved the contract under someone else took them weeks and weeks of promising they fails to communicate and provide a clear direction such a waste money time and effort

Too many missed collections. Have now found a local company which collects from our premises- at a fraction of the GWR price.
Have avoided giving one star as the staff are always friendly and professional - but that doesn’t empty the bins.

I haven’t got long enough to write all I need to tell any prospective customers but the best advice I can give is ‘use any other company but this one’
Countless missed collections, no communication at all, excuse after excuse. Damaged my car 3 times, no apologies or recompense. Cancelled my contract but they conveniently forgot to cancel it their end. Contracts are not clear or accessible so you have to put up with their shocking service.
All good when you sign contract, it’s not until you hit a problem do you find out they are very poor at communication and trying to sort out issues, complete waste of time, dreadful service
