Adam Smith was wonderful in planning our trip to Scotland! I told him what I wanted and he planned every detail. The hotels were beautiful and so quaint! A great Scottish experience! Our very favorite town was Pitlochry. Fisher's Hotel was beautiful and the Athol Distillery tour was so much fun! Thank you Adam for the best first time experience ever! We will definitely reach out again when we return! Until we meet again beautiful Scotland!

I worked with Alex to plan a trip to Scotland in March 2027. She could not have been more helpful! Alex designed a video to highlight the places we will be visiting and we were able to incorporate all the areas that we want to see. I appreciate the time and patience that Alex provided.

September 2026, my daughter and I planned to take a rail trip around Scotland. We contacted Gorail Travel, first via email and then I received an email back from Peter. In the few weeks in between my first reaching out to Peter we actually spoke on the phone and with his help and another agent named Alex, we had all of our questions answered and booked the trip for the summer of 2027.
Peter was very helpful with the web site he provided so we could see exactly what the trip provided. My daughter and I are excited to take this mother-daughter vacation. Thanks to Peter, we know it will be a trip to remember.

We have just booked our Scotland trip with Go Rail Travel, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience we had working with Alex. This is a fairly complicated trip, with a lot of places we wanted to visit and some specific dates we needed to work around. I had already done some research and had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, but Alex was wonderful about listening to our plans, answering my many questions, and helping turn all of those ideas into an actual itinerary. What I appreciated most was that I never felt as though she was trying to fit us into a standard package. She listened to what was important to us and worked with the itinerary we wanted, including our plans to attend the Pitlochry Highland Games and travel all the way north to Orkney, as well as the other stops we wanted to make throughout Scotland. Alex was patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. Planning a trip this involved can be a little overwhelming, but by the end of our conversation I felt excited rather than stressed—and very confident that everything had come together. I think the hardest part of this entire process will be waiting until we leave for Scotland! We are incredibly excited about this trip and so grateful to Alex for helping us put it all together. Dylan was able to efficiently help me with a Plan B rail journey from Budapest to Prague after my Danube River cruise was cancelled due to low water levels.
He was most accommodating in trying to duplicate the cruise cities to see but now with hotels and rail transport from the highlight cities all within a short time.
Dylan was very open to modifications re dates and times, plus detailed suggestions on what to do in each city. I look forward to this trip.!!!

We found GoRailTravel and liked the pace and independant travel but were concerned about carrying luggage over great distances. Tristan was sympathetic to our concerns and advised that hotel selections were near stations. After checking online maps his information was completely accurate. As we further developed and expanded our trip Tristan was very patient and enthusiastic to provide us a varied itenerary that we are looking forward to.

Sean was excellent in listening to what we wanted then making several recommendations to satisfy our needs. Sean made the whole process go smooth. We had an issue getting our passports and had to reschedule our trip. Sean was so patient and helpful and took it in stride and changed our itinerary to accommodate our plans. Sean was unbelievably calm and level headed throughout all our frustrations.

Started working with Alex on our upcoming trip to Scotland. She listened to our requests, put a plan in place that exceeded my expectations, and communicated with me when promised. Looking forward to our adventures with Go Travel Rail.

Joe has been amazing in helping us plan our rail trip of Scotland. He took the original itinerary and customized to what we wanted and was able to work around our budget to make it work.

Our week-long tour in highland Scotland was booked with GoRail but handled by the lads at Go Irish Tours. 1) Unless you have able-bodied friends/family to help, this is not for you. There is no assistance with baggage, boarding trains or transport to/from stations. 2) The "travel vouchers" (our only proof of purchased trip segments) arrived after repeated reminders and never appeared in the guest "dashboard". They did not contain the required QR codes. The rail stations' Customer Service staff needed to decipher vouchers to issue tickets. 3) We repeatedly asked (via email) where and when to meet our local tour guides. Then we found that the subcontracted walking/site tours did not recognize the "vouchers" and had no record of us at all or on the date on our itinerary. One had us listed for a date occurring after we would have left Scotland. One tour company fit us in for a walking tour. The company operating the day trip to Skye had not heard of us. We seniors returned to the hotel. Our son and wife decided to wait for two bus "no shows" and were successful, paying out-of-pocket. We were not offered a refund for our day-trip tickets, finally receiving one after complaining to the very polite lads who had suddenly taken an interest in our trip. I could go on. This company is simply not equipped with competent staff.

I made a solo first-time trip to Ireland last month all due to the phenomenal help of Peter and some additional help from Alex and Sean. He accommodated my needs to make the trip work the timeframe I had available as well as the number of changes requested, and the last-minute request to possibly add another traveler to the trip. I got to see and experience everything I had hoped for. I got to see land of the maternal side of my family who emigrated to the US nearly two centuries ago during the famine.

Alex was very attentive and responsive until I paid the invoice and received my itinerary and vouchers. I have had my itinerary for about a week now. I have questions and need addresses for two hotels in Europe. I have emailed twice and texted once in the last six days to Alex and reservations. No one has responded. If Alex is out on holiday or sick, someone needs to respond. This is making me quite anxious. I will update this review if I hear from the company.
UPDATE to my review:
Adam, the manager of Go Rail Travel has been in touch with me. It seems Alex did have a personal emergency and no one knew I was attempting to reach her. Adam apologized profusely for any distress caused by their lack of reply. He explained the extenuating circumstances to me, listened to my concerns and immediately emailed the information I was requesting and more!!!
I am looking forward to Alex returning to work. I am also very excited to travel the itinerary we created together. THANKS

Peter is an excellent planner for us. From rail, hotels, transfers and lots of ideas to make our trip memorable. We are blessed to have him helping us.
