I must say that Go Overland Canada has truly created a wonderful experience from the moment you first discover their brand, to the moment you sleep in your own roof top tent. They are incredibly caring and thoughtful and I felt that I was always looked after. I have the Journey RTT and it’s fantastic. The build quality is great, the fit and finish is super clean and the accessories are very well thought out. The tent is set up in minutes and with ease. The sleep is so comfortable, it frankly was one of the best sleeps of my life. I’m ready to move in. All in all, I will be a Go Overland Canada fan boy until the very end. 10/10 WILL recommend.

I am happy with the tent, and will have the opportunity to fully test it in the coming weeks. For now, I will comment on delivery, support, and setup.

I picked up the tent at the warehouse in Surrey. The process was a bit confusing, and Pival booked me in on a holiday originally, and then were closed on this day. Eventually I was able to get this sorted, and picked up the tent. They told me to bring someone to help, as they would not assist me in loading the box into my truck. In the end, they did in fact load it directly into my truck, and so my friend didn't actually need to accompany me on this trip (they are only open 9-3pm on work days, making this frustrating).

Go Overland coordinated the purchase of my bed rack as well, which was shipped in 3 total boxes. My visibility was limited however to 1, which caused me a lot of stress and confusion when I began my installation, only to realize I was missing pieces. I was also frustrated to learn that the mounting gear and various parts were hidden under the mattress and required me to completely unfold the tent to find these hidden treasures. There was no guidance to this whatsoever, and again I lost time and experienced stress trying to figure out where these missing pieces were. I've found the instructions provided by Go Overland to be horrible. The pictures are not accurate, some parts (e.g. various washers) were sent, but not listed in the instructions. The roof rack for the tent itself is still not installed because I can't for the life of me figure out what the instructions are trying to convey. These should be completely redone IMO.

Finally, this took me a week to install on my own given the above road blocks. Go Overland was not very helpful in their support. From the very first message, I requested them to call me, as this would have been so much more efficient. To this day, they haven't called me, and haven't been overly helpful over email. This surprised me, as I've heard great things about the support here. Hopefully, things get better moving forward. It's been a stressful week.

My Journey X lite was shipped and received within the week, arrived in a really nice crate. Inspected it as Go Overland requested and was extremely happy. No real video out there but install is super easy. We tested it out the next weekend and it was all we hoped for. Super comfy and blackout was nice. I was approached by many people about my RTT was basically a G.O. Rep. Highly recommend!

They have the best price in Canada for rugged storage boxes, no duty or shipping fees either!

Hello, we just bought the Expedition Mini. It was unbelievably delivered to our door in the BC interior for free (!) in a skookum protective crate. We're lifetime tent campers, and epic road trippers and wanted to add this luxury off ground option. We've just had one practice night and were so impressed with the ease of set up, the roominess and comfort, the plentiful cool storage and lighting details, all weather window options. Supreme design details. We're excited to take it Yellowknife and follow the Rockies down to Waterton this September. Thank you!

I used the tent for three nights on top of my boat, and it worked great. It came as advertised, and I had no issues putting it together. I especially liked the video tutorial, which made the setup a breeze.

I recently used my GoOverland Canada Expedition XL rooftop tent during a rainy weekend camping trip, and overall, I’m really impressed with its performance. Despite continuous rain, the tent held up great—absolutely no leaks, which gave us peace of mind and a dry, comfortable sleep.

Setup and takedown were smooth, and the tent felt spacious and well-ventilated, even with the weather closed in. Materials seem solid, and the zippers and stitching all feel high-quality.

One issue I did notice is some rubbing on the skylight roof where the ladder touches it when the tent is closed. I’ve been using the provided ladder cover, but it still seems to make contact and could potentially cause wear over time. It’s something to watch out for, and I’ll probably look into adding extra padding or adjusting the ladder position to prevent long-term damage.

Overall, I’m happy with the Expedition XL—weatherproof, reliable, and comfortable. Just a minor design oversight with the ladder storage that I hope the company addresses in future versions.

Just set this up last night. The truck mount took almost 4 weeks to get but it all went together in about 4 hours including putting the tent on.
The only complaint I have is the lack of instructions. As in Zero. We found a video but it showed putting the tent roof rack as the vehicle mount. Totally confusing for someone that has never put one together. The ac (cigarette) cord is too short to reach the plug in a dodge ram. Not a real issue.
All in all. I believe this will suit our needs.

This light weight hard shell roof top tent was delievered within 8 days, in a sturdy protective crate, and was easy to place on the roff of my jeep wrangler. It was a two person lift and was attached in no time. Very easy to pop up and take down and came with everything as advertised. A very satisfying experience.

This was my second purchase from Go Overland Canada and it has been another satisfying experience. The ordering and shipping was fast and easy. My initial confusion on mounting the awning was quickly cleared up via email and the only problem I ran into was the bolt heads were too small and spun freely in the top channel of my ORO rack which was easy enough to remedy with a screwdriver wedged in until tight. Their inaugural trip was 4 days on some very rough roads and they seem pretty snug but I will be keeping an eye on them.
The awning is simple to open and close and has all the nice details Go Overland seems to excel in. Have not tested in heavy winds yet but it did its job in the rain. The light strip is a nice idea and will be handy in the fall when the sun starts going down again.
The other small problem I ran into is the awning frame interferes with getting the flexible poles for my tents door rain awning into both holes on that side so it’s pretty loose. I will have to either move the unit out a bit or the tent up.
Finally a word on their customer service. After my last trip I noticed I had lost a piece off of my GO tent. I fired them off an email and was surprised when they replied almost immediately and resolved the issue same day which just happened to be Canada Day. That’s pretty darn good customer service in my books.

Tent is ok, but doesn’t meet the expectations.
Worst downside. Not as specify on the site. Specially for the mattress. It is 78x63 and not 80x70. Yes there is a 20 inch section that is 70 width, but it is more 63.
Also, the mattress is 1 5/8" thick instead of 2". Not comfortable enough. We’ve added a self-inflating mattress to gain some comfort, but…There is only a 10inch spot at the end of the tent for your bedding. Good luck! Not enough room for the mattress and you won’t be able to add more height to the original mattress or the tent won’t close properly.
So a lot of improvement needed. And a correction of the specifications would be fair for the future customers

This is a great tent and am very happy with it .
This could be a five star review BUT ….. included instructions are lacking, also there is no available contact with a human …. I would have liked a phone call. All of their business is online and from a service perspective there could be a better personal touch.
Otherwise a fantastic product !!!!!!
