Good Sam Omdömen 

To say I’m frustrated doesn’t even begin to describe how angry I am. I feel we were grossly misled when we purchased our RV and car insurance through Good Sam and National General. In 5 years we filed 1 claim due to storm damage. Without sending an adjuster and using only the photos shared by the dealership we took it to for an evaluation they denied our claim stating the water damage was extensive and not due to a hail damaged and leaking roof. Insured for $30K, paid over $10k in premiums over five years and claim denied. We cancelled all policies to which there response was “we can write you a new policy”. No thank their insurance isn’t worth what we paid. It’s all about the money. Not only did we have a horrid experience with the RV claim, when involved in a hit and run accident (luckily another driver got a picture of the other driver’s tag) so no out of pocket expense whatsoever for repairs…the result a premium increase of $140 per month. So no they are not a good choice for insurance.

We were traveling to see my mother-in-law, who had just entered hospice care. We had to travel from Pocatello, Idaho, to Longview, Washington. We broke down on I-84 in Idaho, between Mountain Home and Hammett, at mile marker 108. When we purchased the roadside service, we were told we would be towed to the garage of our choice. The AI assistant was worthless, so for that reason alone, I would not renew the service. When we were finally able to speak with a live person, the experience was not much better.
You really cannot give a more precise location than westbound I-84 at mile marker 108. The agent could not “find us.” We gave her our GPS coordinates, but she still could not “find us.” Finally, after we gave her the same coordinates about 10 times, she found us.
We told her we needed to be towed to the GMC dealer in Boise because it was the only shop open. She came back and said it was 70 miles away and that I would have to pay $400. I had the dealer pick us up for $400, so having Good Sam was worthless. I would never trust them; they misrepresent their service until you actually need it.

*Extremely Disappointing Experience with Good Sam RV Insurance and Roadside Assistance** We had an incident where we needed roadside assistance to tow our travel trailer. It was a Sunday afternoon, and we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. We contacted Good Sam Roadside Assistance, expecting the service we had been paying for to help us. We were told they could not provide a tow because of our location and that no providers were available that day. We were instructed to find a tow company ourselves and pay out of pocket. The tow cost approximately **$5,000**, and we were told to have roadside assistance fix the issue and pay out of pocket. We were then told to submit a claim to National General for reimbursement. We followed those instructions, only to later be told that we did not have Good Sam insurance and that our claim could not be covered. This was incorrect—we do have Good Sam coverage and have been paying for roadside assistance. We have now been dealing with this issue for **months**. I have repeatedly tried to speak with someone who can take responsibility and help resolve this matter, but there appears to be no one willing or able to provide a resolution. Our biggest concern is simple: **Why are customers paying for roadside assistance if, when an emergency happens, they are given incorrect information, left to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket, and then have their claim denied?** We expected Good Sam to be there when we needed them. Instead, we were left stranded, forced to arrange and pay for an expensive tow ourselves, and have spent months trying to resolve the situation. This has been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience.

Lied about the premier plus false narrative said they would cover a certain amount of distance said oh to the nearest repair facility false narrative lying look at their rating and tells the whole story one star rating go somewhere else

The worst car service I've ever used. I purchased 5 years of auto service in advance, and they force canceled my membership only a year in because they said I used it too much (6 times between myself and my significant other). According to industry best practices, most auto clubs, like AAA and others, will offer up to 4 times per person per year. When I asked for the refund for the remaining 4 years, they outright refused and said they have the right to cancel at any time without a refund as long as I've ever used their service at least once. No, that is not a joke. That is literally what they told me, and apparently what is in their terms and conditions in the fine print. I had to write a demand letter and threaten them legally before they finally offered to pay me a refund. Horrible company and shady business practices.

Bad Sam.

Needed a tow, but wasn’t a Good Sam member. They told us to sign up for membership ($800 on demand) and we would get a break on the tow. We were told tow would cost $2,000 (plus the $800 membership). We agreed and they promised to dispatch a tow truck the next morning. Got a call the next morning telling us they had a truck but cost would be more…to the tune of $3,000. So…$800 membership, $2,000 original tow cost plus the additional $3,000 for a total of $5,800. They should be ashamed. Bait and switch for people in a tough spot. Needless to say, we hired a tow for 1/3 the cost. Would never deal with Bad Sam again. They are dishonest and prey on people who are in a bind.

Wow, what a joke of a program. I would love to talk to someone competent and get things right. Reach out to me if you care! All the bad stories about good sam and camping world are true. STAY FAR AWAY!

I called for a tow at 9:30 am was texted a pick up time of 75-105 minutes. that was fine by me. it is now 1:30 pm and the tow truck is just arriving that is 240 minutes or 4 hours of waiting. This is unacceptable for a tow. Terrible tow service. Sam's customer service people are very polite not there fault.

There has to be agency that should close these clowns down.

I ended up calling my friend to come rescue me after waiting forever for them. And they never arrived…

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m paying for 24/7 roadside assistances and currently have been waiting for over 12 hours for a tow. I was told my tow could be scheduled for 8am the following morning and now it’s 11am and just got an update that a tow truck is 2 hours away. This is beyond ridiculous. Unprofessional. I have never been so angry.

They left me on the side of the I95 for days saying we'll get back to you, they never came.
Recently I tried using my membership for towing as i had a wheel bearing go out while traveling on I95 in Maine. I contacted GS for a tow to a local repair shop, 11 miles away. GS said they would arrange the tow and would let me know the ETA. I waited for 2 hours and GS never called back. I called again and the next operator could not find my original request. He started a new case. After him saying he would text back ETA of tow truck, 2 hours later still nothing, 2 days later. Nothing. I would still be there if I didn't go get the parts and tools to fix the bearing. It actually was on fire and the wheel bearing adhered itself to the spindle. I had to cut it off, file down the spindle, put new brake and bearings on. I had a place that would do all this at their shop but Good Sam screwed me by lying and not showing up.

Apparently if you are broken down GS will ignore your request while you are broken down. So you took my money and did not give me the service that I contracted from you. Your company not only ignored my request for service but lied and lied to me. I would like a reply from someone that has authority.

I signed up for the elite top choice with travel assistance to have total coverage. While at my campsite lightning struck my truck. I called to have it towed to a mechanic. I was told I needed to wait 10 hours because I had a 48 hr wait period. I didn’t see that in the email telling me I was good to go. I used AAA to tow the truck to mechanic. The next morning I called to have the camper towed home as described on the sale site but they said because they didn’t tow the truck they would not tow the camper. So no help at all. Total waste of money. Better to get AAA.

Contacted them for roadside assistance and they told us “sorry for your negative experience” and then hung up.

We hit a metal rod which flattened our tire. Good Sam could not find anyone to come help so we called someone who had us back on the road within an hour. Filed a claim for reimbursement as instructed. Out of a $191 bill they paid $5.00 for the patch but stated they do not cover labor or service call fees. In all the years I've had Good Sam they have never been helpful. Luckily we always kept AAA as a backup. We've finally cancelled all Good Sam memberships which included Elite Roadside, Travel Assists and Tire & Wheel. Good Sam is a scam.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Good Sam Roadside Assistance on July 4.

My wife had a flat tire on a rural country road. I called Good Sam for help, but the representative could not find my account, even after I provided my email address, phone number, home address, and later my membership number. I hung up and called again, hoping it was just an isolated issue, but the second representative also said they could not locate my account.

My wife then called herself, and the representative was somehow able to find her membership. She was told that roadside assistance had been dispatched and that she would receive a text message with the estimated arrival time. That text never came.

My wife waited on the side of the road for approximately five hours before a kind stranger stopped and changed her tire. Without that Good Samaritan, she could have been stranded even longer.

At 10:50 that night—roughly seven hours after we originally requested help—Good Sam finally called to say they had located a service provider. The tow company then contacted us and said they had only just received the request.

The most upsetting part is that my wife has significant health issues. After spending hours stranded in the summer heat and dealing with the stress of the situation, she ended up in the emergency room the following day suffering from dehydration and severe anxiety.

Roadside assistance exists for situations exactly like this. When someone is stranded in a remote area, they need reliable help, accurate communication, and timely service. Unfortunately, we received none of those things.

I appreciate the kindness of the stranger who stopped to help my wife far more than the service we paid Good Sam to provide.

I hope Good Sam takes a serious look at how this situation was handled, because no member should ever have to wait seven hours for assistance while sitting alone on the side of the road.

If you're considering Good Sam Roadside Assistance, I encourage you to carefully consider whether this is the level of service you would want if you or a loved one were stranded in an emergency.

Good Sam renews every year and I've asked to have it cancelled or have the auto renew removed but they charged me again. AND THEY WON'T REFUND MY PAYMENT!!! RIP OFF!!!!! AVOIDE

We bought a year membership and needed it a week later at which time Good Sam told us we were asking break courtesy toe because we didn't have a vehicle hooked to our RV this is the worst absolutely the worst roadside assistance company I have ever dealt with I would not recommend it I repeat I would not recommend it to anyone you can write me and I'll let you know everything there is no about them there's a sorry service! Goodsam?? ??? A reason why you never heard of it!!! Another reason to run away!!!! They tried to connect me with “someone close” versus my preferred specialist a few miles away!! I chose the insurance on my phone roadside and only paid 30 dollars over and still 120 less than goodsam cause that the difference they were charging to take it to where I wanted !! Not a good value when my cheap Verizon roadside service was better !!!!

And don’t respond goodsam! Go to hell !! I won’t be renewing at all!! Gimmick !

Horrible horrible business. Drops your vehicle off in random spots without telling you where they drop off. Had me confirm to and from address 4 times over the course of a day, the last one in text so it was missed ultimately cancelling the appointment. Prepare to be put on hold for at least 30 minutes due to "higher than normal call volume" every.single.time.
Doesn't cancel service when you request it, advise recording cancellations as they also refuse to send confirmations.
Avoid like the plague.
