Engaged this firm in January 2025 to secure a business rates reduction and rebate. That was 18 months ago. Since then: no rebate received, no results delivered, no meaningful update on progress, and yet another invoice has just landed.

I've now had to formally request an explanation: what work has actually been carried out, when the promised rebate and results will materialise, and what possible basis justifies charging again for an engagement that has produced nothing so far. They don't reply.

Being invoiced repeatedly for an outcome that still hasn't been delivered after a year and a half is not an isolated slip, it looks like a scam. Judge for yourselves whether you're willing to pay upfront for a promise this firm has had 18 months to keep and hasn't.

Avoid until they can show an actual result for the money already taken.

Terrible Rip off!!! Cost me my business!!

After charging upfront for a service that it never provided, no guidance, no contact for 18 months, we just got another "resubmission" invoice for the same service they never submitted, and on this invoice they even had the wrong postcode of the business premises! This after being promised with absolute certainty that we would get full rates rebate (as we had in our previous premises) Meanwhile, by trusting these absolute snakes we advised the local council that the rates were being reviewed for submission by GYRR and deferred payment while we chased them up with no success and we now have £21,000 bill backdated two years which has effectively put us out of business.

We paid upfront for a rates review 3 years ago, nothing came of it but I thought they were legit until just recently when they started sending us invoices for another rates review which we didn't ask for, and we're not even in the same office as the first review any longer!

They are now issuing final demands and legal action for payment.

Stay away from this company. After more than two years without any work, contact, or active engagement, they unexpectedly issued resubmission invoices despite providing no recent services. This raises serious concerns about their transparency, professionalism, and invoicing practices.

We dealt with Elene who was totally professional and dealt with our rates problem . Especially when I was not getting anywhere with my local council.

Approached by this company regarding a business rates appeal. The surveyor visited our premises and we signed a contract on the same day. From that point, absolutely nothing was done. No VOA registration, no appeal filed, no contact initiated by them whatsoever.

The 2023 Rating List appeal deadline of 31 March 2026 passed with zero action on their part despite this being included in the contract.

When we cancelled due to no work being carried out, they immediately issued a final demand for £1,983.60, threatened CCJ and legal action, and invented a '20% cancellation fee' that does not appear anywhere in the contract we signed.

Their own emails confirm they could not start work without us appointing them as VOA agents -- which we never did, as they never followed up to guide us through the process after signing.

No service was delivered. No fee is due. Would strongly advise any business to research this company thoroughly before signing anything.

A really terrible company. Poorly organised, a compete lack of communication or written plan and Richard was really rude. We paid money to submit rates forms and we realised 8 months later they hadn't done it for one of our companies. We raised a complaint and asked for a refund and they suggested this was planned and that it's standard practice. Who takes money to do zero work for 8 months, then when they are caught won't return it. A really poor company I would avoid.

We have engaged gyrr to try to get our business rates down.
After several months of chasing, they said there looking at our landlord agreement, they can't do anything.

They told us that there may be a chance and they survey will need to be done.

They never sent anyone over to the office. They just looked at landlord agreement and did not do anything. It is a scam.

We were originally contacted by Get Your Rates Right in 2024, we paid the fee to proceed with the appeal against our rateable value. We knew the process could take a long time but after 7 months we still had not heard from them. Despite many attempts to speak to them via phone calls and emails we could not get hold of anyone.
Eventually in July 2025 the VOA accepted the challenge and issue us with a rebate. So ultimately GYRR did save us money and fulfilled the contract but parts of the process were painful.

We were contacted as they felt they could reduce our rates at one of our offices .The initial site visit and plans were prepared quickly and the agreement entered into .Whilst they charge a n up front fee ,this is made clear in their agreement so was happy to proceed .Marjorie and the team kept me informed throughout the process and did point out how long these things can take .Resulted in a successful appeal reducing our rates over the last 3 years.
