I tried Pronounce to improve my pronunciation, so far it works great!

Don't go for the 3 trial days because then without any warning they will charge you! I only remembered they existed again when they tried to charge my card for another 90 euros! There are no warnings that there will be an incoming expense whatsoever. Very shady practice. They say you can cancel anytime but in the website there will be no way to cancel. Stay away!

You can only try the app after entering payment details, clearly counting on some users missing the cancellation deadline—which is what happened to me, and I was charged. I contacted support immediately to request a refund and never received any response. This was a year ago and am still waiting for a response (unlike 24 hours response they claim). The product feels half‑abandoned and more like a money grab than a serious learning tool, with very basic features you could easily replace with any free “talk to an AI” chatbot. It might be acceptable for absolute beginners in English, but it is not suitable for advanced speakers who want serious accent and pronunciation work. Many of the glowing 5‑star reviews also look suspiciously inauthentic, which only adds to the trust issues. Overall, would not recommend.

The app looks like a basic demo. And if it does use ChatGPT, it’s certainly not version 4.0 it loses context after just two exchanges. You also can’t continuously train a phrase by repeating and checking it, for example, if your grammar was off and you wanted to train your brain to use the correct version.

On top of that, the vocabulary enhancement suggestions don’t take context into account – they just resemble a basic thesaurus list of synonyms. There's no option for a refund, and after all that, they have the audacity to ask for more money for an AI teacher. Complete scam.

This platform looks very promising after a week of exploring its features. I did have a techno-issue over the billing and premium features but in all fairness, I received a helpful reply within 24 hours.

Seems like an abandoned product. I found an issue with my lessons (a technical bug probably) and asked for help. No response from them..
[EDIT, Jul 30] Finally got a response from them and the issue was resolved. They added a nice feature also.

I initially downloaded this app for occasional accent practice. Having lived in the US for 5 years, I didn't feel an urgent need to improve my accent, so I used it sparingly.

However, when I recently entered the job market, this app proved INCREDIBLE for interview preparation as a non-native English speaker. While I had been practicing with chatGPT, it only provided feedback on content, not on grammar errors or mispronunciations. For interviews where communication skills are heavily evaluated, I think practicing error-free speech makes a big difference. Pronounce catches my mistakes and provides detailed feedback on speed, intonation, grammar and pronunciation. I also find its correction/learning methodology really useful for me: you review your errors, practice them repeatedly until you get them right, and the app remembers these mistakes for future practice sessions.

UPD 11 March 2025. After posting my initial review, I received a response from Pronounce, and I’m pleased to say they reviewed my case, revised their guidelines, and issued a refund for my subscription fee. They acknowledged that I never used the service, and I appreciate that they reconsidered my request and took action. This update reflects my experience after the resolution, and I now feel more positively about their customer service.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Pronounce. I signed up for a trial and forgot to cancel, resulting in an unintended charge of ~$120. While I fully understand that it was my responsibility to cancel on time, I reached out to their support team immediately after noticing the charge, explaining the situation and requesting a refund.

Unfortunately, their response was rigid and lacked any empathy or willingness to consider my case. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was either ignored or met with the same scripted response. It’s frustrating to see a company prioritize a few hundred dollars over customer goodwill and satisfaction.

I have not used the service since the charge, yet they refuse to issue a refund or even engage in a meaningful discussion about it. This kind of customer service makes it clear that they care more about profits than building trust with their users.

If you’re considering using Pronounce, be very careful with their trial. They will charge you the full amount with no flexibility, and their support team is unhelpful if you have any issues. I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone who values transparency and good customer service.

I can not find an android app. it's great on the website but reading aloud a big text on the smartphone browser is not good. But I would purchase the premium if it wasn't so expensive for me.

I like the feature but I'm disappointed when normally some basic free become inaccessible and need to pay to get it.
