Avoid at all costs. Make charges up as they go along, repeatedly charging `excess weight charges` despite the refuse not even coming close to the minimum weight. I have been charged excess weight charges on a bin that was collected, through no fault of my own, four days late and on my more recent invoice there are `excess weight` charges on a container containing just TWO bin bags of general waste (nothing heavy). They are not even deserving of the mandatory one star. It’s not the first time. In 27 years of trading Gaskells have proved to be the most incompetent company I have had the displeasure of having to deal with. If you need refuse collection I would advise to look elsewhere. I’m not usually a fan of leaving negative reviews but Gaskells are deserving.

I never realised that waste collection could cause you so many problems! We are leaving Gaskells on 1st August and it can't come soon enough. Right from the start, we were lied to about contract lengths, the collection days are completely sporadic and the invoices are always for different amounts. When you call with a query, the customer service staff are rude and unhelpful. I called them only this morning to advise that one of our three bins was not emptied yesterday. I was practically accused of lying about how many bins we have outside our premises and now they are downloading footage from the lorry to see how many bins can be seen on the camera! Terrible company to deal with, steer well clear unless you have loads of spare time to be ringing them every five minutes with queries/complaints, which are never adequately resolved.

From first contact with Gaskells via John Cundall to delivery of the container the service was first class. John was so helpful and knowledgeable regarding our needs. The drivers attend and are always helpful and polite. Top class service from start to finish and the admin team are always helpful if we have have any queries. Thanks So much John Cundall.

After a simply awful experience trying to get Biffa to swop a contract from the previous owners of our business, their bins were on site - all we wanted to do was sign up and resume the service but 6 weeks later and Biffa still couldn't get their heads around this despite numerous phone calls and emails.
One call to Gaskells and within minutes Rob, our rep, was on the phone. Here next morning with paperwork and Gaskells had our new bins delivered the day after, all sorted in 3 days rather than 6 weeks chasing Biffa!!!
When my new bins came the delivery driver even took some overflow waste to make sure we were starting with a clean slate.
First collection today and the guys were great there as well.

Terrible experience subcontracted our area without informing us and we have not had a waste collection since 29th October at a Children's Nursery. Not only a risk to health but unsightly and detrimental to our business. When chased they refer you to subcontractors my contract is with YOU. Still no action despite chases.

Still no collection since November I deem this contract now null and void so we will be moving both our nurseries from your service. You are a risk to health and safety and the reputation of our nursery.

We’ve been with Gaskells for many years - they are an excellent waste management company with the service we receive, from the lads who empty our bins to John who deals with our account, being spot on. If any business is looking for a new company to take on their waste management, I can highly recommend Gaskells.

They have been brilliant from day one - no hassle in setting up the account and having the bin delivered and any collection amendments we wanted done, we just email and they’re done straight away. Highly recommended and so reliable!!

They didn't listen to what we wanted and at times came acrosse quite rude, then we found Gaskells... We have 3 sites and they have been fantastic. On top of that, I have never had a bad interaction with anyone from Gaskells, and I honestly don't know that I can say that for any other company. Have been using the waste services of this company for a few years now. Majority of the time the service has been exceptionally good and on the rare occasions when things have gone wrong they have always discussed the issues with me personally and then we have worked together to rectify. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending this company from the actual waste collection team to the different office & transport staff I have spoke too at different times too.

If there was a ) option for rating then i would have used that... disgraceful company with zero empathy or consideration of our industry and the pandemic we are going through. Ridiculously high prices that we have been conned into for a 2 year contract. Just been sent a £391.00 bill for September for 12 collections of waste and 6 collections of cardboard WE HAD ONLY ONE BIN EMPTIED!! reduced our collections being in the restaurant industry that is on it's knees as they would not let me cancel our contract. The lady in customer services was so rude and quite liked the fact i was tied in to a 2 year contract and could do nothing about it. Waiting for a reply about the bill i have been sent..
