The car was very good and clean . Overall it was above expectations. For the low price we paid it was very good. The drop off was good as well. I can only recomand and take care o the cars , how you drive , not to damage them. For us it was good as we had no incidents.

The Service was nice. Everything went perfekt and very quickly. Also the Transfer between the Car Rental and the Airport was quite easy.
We did all the booking stuff in advanced so that we only catched the car at night.

Problème et réclamation location voiture chez Funchal Drive
Nous sommes arrivés à l'agence le 17 mai pour une location de voiture. Ici un vendeur nous conseille de payer un supplément de 135 euros pour avoir une voiture plus grande, plus équipée et plus performante. Nous acceptons et nous partons donc avec cette première voiture (ford Puma).
Quelques jours plus tard, nous avons un problème de frein avec cette voiture. La voiture ne freine plus correctement et fait beaucoup de bruit quand on freine. Après plusieurs tentatives de contact avec l'agence nous arrivons à avoir quelqu'un qui nous conseille de venir à l'agence de Santa Cruz pour un échange de voiture.
Nous faisons donc plus de 1h de route de Porto Moniz vers Santa Cruz. Un agent constate le défaut de plaquettes de frein et nous prend en charge de manière peu convenable, fermé à toute discussion. Il nous propose un échange de voiture mais nous nous retrouvons avec une Citroën C3 sans aucune option (ni auto radio, ni caméra de recul, ni accoudoir, etc) alors que nous avions payé 135 euros supplémentaires au départ de notre location.
En définitif, nous avons perdu 1 jours sur notre voyage a cause de ce problème et nous n'avons pas pu effectuer l'activité en mer déjà payée prévu ce jour. En effet avec un bébé a bord nous n'avons pas utilisé la voiture le jour du problème et nous avons passé 4h sur la route et en agence pour faire l'échange de véhicule. Nous n'avons reçu aucune excuse ni même aucune ristourne sur notre contrat de location.
Nous sommes très déçu de l'accueil reçue lors de l'échange de voiture et de la gestion du problème. Nous souhaiterions un dédommagement pour le problème qui n'est absolument pas de notre responsabilité.

Concernant votre réservation initiale, nous souhaitons préciser que le véhicule réservé correspondait à une catégorie inférieure. Lors de la remise du véhicule, il vous a été suggéré un surclassement vers un SUV, en l’occurrence un Ford Puma, offrant davantage d’espace, de confort et une motorisation supérieure, option que vous avez acceptée moyennant un supplément.
Par la suite, suite au problème technique identifié, nous avons procédé au remplacement du véhicule dans les plus brefs délais. Le véhicule de remplacement attribué appartient à la même catégorie, garantissant des caractéristiques équivalentes en termes d’espace, de confort et de motorisation.
Toutefois, nous attirons votre attention sur le fait qu’il ne nous est pas possible de garantir que tous les véhicules d’une même catégorie disposent exactement des mêmes équipements ou options spécifiques, ceux-ci pouvant varier selon la marque et le modèle. Nous garantissons uniquement l’équivalence en termes de catégorie et de caractéristiques principales, les équipements optionnels n’étant jamais garantis.
Nous regrettons également toute perception négative concernant l’accueil lors de l’échange du véhicule et nous analyserons cette situation en interne afin d’améliorer continuellement la qualité de notre service.

Absolute Abzocke
Bloß weg hier! Wir wollten heute unser Mietauto abholen und wurden von Anfang bis Ende enttäuscht. Zuerst mussten wir 45 Minuten auf den Shuttle-Service warten. Am Schalter fingen die Probleme erst richtig an: Unsere ganz normale, gültige Kreditkarte wurde plötzlich nicht akzeptiert. Uns wurde eiskalt eine zusätzliche Gebühr von über 200 € aufgebrummt, um das Auto überhaupt zu bekommen.
Die Krönung war der "Service": Die Mitarbeiterin am Schalter und das gesamte Team waren extrem unfreundlich und haben uns einfach ignoriert, als wir das klären wollten. Als wäre das nicht genug, wurden wir nach dem Liegenlassen nicht mal zurück zum Flughafen gefahren. Nach einer weiteren Stunde Wartezeit mussten wir uns schließlich selbst ein Taxi rufen. Absolut unprofessionell, arrogant und reine Geldmacherei. Nie wieder!

Bad service at technical problems
The service in the Office was bad and Not Customer friendly. My Credit Card was valid for another 3 months, but this was not accepted for deposit Pay. We proposed other solutions (e.g. Driver change to my wife, etc), but they force me to Pay additional 390€ for a“Gold Service“. As it was Late that day, we did not had a change to cancel the reservation.
And secondly, the car was in a Bad technical condition.
1.) When soft Breaking, the whole car vibrated.
2.) The Front light did not work. This was dangerous in the Tunnels, and there are many in Madeira. I sent an emails and asked how to handle the problem. But no answer. And no answer for my reminder, too.

Everything as expected. I booked an automatic car with full insurance directly on their website. Booking process was rather easy
On the way to Madeira our flight was delayed, but a member of the staff waited for us at the airport and took us to the office (5 min drive) where the car was delivered. Formalities were dealt with quickly, as I had already entered all details in their system before travelling. Car was as expected, no surprises.
To return the car it was slightly more cumbersome as we were few returning their cars at the same time. To get in the premises might prove difficult for non experienced drivers, all in all very positive experience

Good an clean car but it took way to long to get it we waited more than a hour to be picked up at the airport and there was totally more then two hours between landing of the plane and driving away in the car….

Typical mandatory full insurance car rental
Only they want is full isnureance, without it is bacially impossible to rent a car. We had resevation, we had full insurance from different company and they found some their own policy, nohere written... So we were forced to pay extra 405E for 10 days...
We also waited more than 1h for pick-up at the airport - plane was on time...

It is easy to get to the office by companies' bus.
It is easy to get to the office: a bus will pick you up and it is quick. Procedure is functional but adequate. Staff was friendly. The car was good to drive with, even though it had some scratches from earlier rents.
