I first tried on a Fish Hippie long sleeve t-shirt at the beach. I had gotten pretty sunburn and was eating outside with a breeze. I was getting pretty cold with fans on the outside deck. My wife was shopping and asked her to pick up a long sleeve for me to wear. She came back with a fish hippie long sleeve and it was so comfortable and soft. I started ordering shirts and dress shirts from Fish Hippie. I haven't found another Fish Hippie shirt that was that soft. Every Fish Hippie shirt I have ordered has felt like cardboard. Their sizes are best guess. I ordered a XL and it fit like a large. If I did like a shirt from them, I could never order it twice because of size and materials. I just bought a $100 long sleeve T-shirt and it feels absolutely like cardboard!!! It is so long that it almost reaches my knees. I had the same problem with their dress shirts as well. I ordered a sololace sport (or something close to that) and absolutely love it!! I ordered the same shirt in a different color and when it came in, I was shocked!!! Not even close to the other shirt in the same collection. Materials were hard and uncomfortable and has a result, I never wear it!! Bottom line, Do not trust Fish Hippie for any clothing needs unless you are there in person to try it on and feel the materials. Even though they say it in the same collection, it is not!!! I will NEVER order another shirt from Fish Hippie ever again!! I can not express my feelings enough about this company. Over priced and you can get better materials at Walmart for a fraction of the cost!!! I AM DONE WITH FISH HIPPIE FOR GOOD!!! You're better off with no name brands!!!

While I can’t comment on the quality of the products this company sells, as the only time I have purchased was as a gift for a family member, I can comment on their customer service and returns policy. BEWARE of this company! I made the mistake of buying a shirt for a family member at the end of October, hoping to spread the cost of Christmas out a month or more. Unfortunately, Fish Hippie’s return/exchange policy is only 30 days out, so it doesn’t cover Christmas!! When I figured this out, I had already purchased the shirt, and to return it in order to purchase closer to Christmas, it would have cost me a $7 return fee! Even if my family member received it tomorrow and needed a different color or size, HE would be charged a $7 return/exchange fee! You go to Belk, Macy’s or any other department store, and they would AT LEAST allow for an exchange! Even after Christmas. Stay away from this company, folks! Very unfair return/exchange policy!

I have been purchasing shorts and shirts from Fish Hippie since I first saw them in Charleston about 12 years ago. I recently purchased two Balao polo shirts, which were in the 80 and $90 range. The material was great, but after two washings there was a rip just below the placket where one buttons. Most good quality Polos have some type of backing there that can handle and strengthen the area after multiple sewing machine runs. I tried to point this out in a very constructive way to the company via customer service. I sent a letter and photos in June never heard back. They apologize for not getting back to me. I sent them again and then they wanted all sorts of documentation when I bought them. with the number of email ads I get from Fish. I wasn’t able to find original purchase. The shirts look ragged and cheap with these wholes. My point is if it happened to two of mine it is happening to others and they just don’t really care about quality or customer service. it’s too bad as they advertise satisfaction guaranteed on everyone of their emails. A small change in the manufacturing method would alleviate this problem. I would say they’re a great company otherwise but this is not in character for such as successful company.

I was a first time customer and ordered a bundle of T-shirts as well as another item on sale. Both items were extremely large and did not fit. When I went to return for an exchange for a smaller size, one of the items was non-returnable/refundable. They would not even allow a store credit. When I called to ask questions I was essentially given the cold shoulder.

So now, instead of returning some of the items for a smaller size, I have elected to ask for a refund. I will no longer use this company to purchase anything. Please be aware of their refund/exchange policies.
