They did not Cancel the Authorization Amount. After 11 days, they still have a hold on our money. After numerous emails, they just ignore us. I urged you do NOT hire from them. They are a fraudulent company.

You can not treat clients this way.

El alquiler de vehículo por booking fue muy bueno ,fuimos a la terminal del aeropuerto y nos entregaron el coche ,no tienen stand de atención !
El coche lo dejamos en un parquing externo que nos dijeron ellos ,nos cobraron una fianza de 1000 Lev ,en el momento de coger el coche ! Por Booking la fianza se tendría que haber devuelto el 2/08 ,estamos a 04/09 y todavía no me la han devuelto ! Les he reclamado por email ,pero no contestan ,al igual que al teléfono !

Don't get a fine when using their cars. I got a fine of R200 and they charged me a service fee of R400 so I ended up paying R650 for a R200 fine. Unbelievable

Son unos Estafadores.Alquile un coche el día 7 de agosto para las 10.00 AM en aeropuerto Sofía. Baje del avión no había ni oficina ni están. Buscando número papá llamar vía internet resulta que por tardar 20 min me lo han anulado. No me devuelven el dinero.estoy reclamando a Rayaner y voy a reclamar en Bulgaria también al consumidor. Para mí me han robado.

When I received the vehicle it only had 3/4 of a tank of fuel. I deliberately took a photo of this as the checkout sheet was not filled in with a fuel level. When I returned the car I filled it back to 3/4 as required by the rental agreement. They are now trying to charge me to refuel the car. Even after showing them my photos from the day I collected the car and the day I returned it they refuse to accept it. They have now also falsified documentation showing that the car was full when I received it by filling in the fuel level on the checkout sheet. But it is clear that this was done later as all the other information is in black pen while the fuel level has been highlighted in yellow. Clear fraudulent behaviour.

Terrible company. They owe me money and will not refund. Be cautious before you use them

From pick up to return exemplary service!
I was taken to the car and the assistant even found additional damage not noted and updated my agreement.
On return I asked the assistant to inspect my car and she noted no damage
My deposit was released about a week later
I am booking with them again for next year

Don't ever use First Car rental, they steal your money. Rented a car pick up 15 June 2025 from Pietermaritzburg just after 8h00. Booked through booking.com booking nr: 715512609 Gave credit card for the R3500 hold. It was said that my card declined. She said I must tap again. Again she claimed it declined. I said no way I am tapping again I will phone my bank. Phoned my bank heard that both transactions went through. I was extremely upset. They phoned a manager who said that it will be fixed when I return the car. And the 2x R3500 holds will be removed. Now I get a receipt from First car rental that R3500 hold has been lifted. I go and look on my bank statement and on 17 June they took the R3500 for them. So the whole thing was a way to steal R3500 from me. I can not believe that they are so dishonest. Will also contact the bank and tell them again about their deceipt to steal from me. The worse is that day they said that if I dont allow the 2xR3500 with the bank they will not give me a car for rental and that the other car rentals only get cars in that are prebooked. My daughter and me were stuck at the airport 2 woman with no way to get in the Midlands I had no other choice than to believe them and now I realise it was just a way to tell the bank I can't reverse it and they can steal.my money. NEVER EVER USE FIRST CAR RENTAL

This is a review about First Car at CT Airport. From beginning to end the service was amazing. Deposit returned without a hitch, staff friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience. The only thing that could be improved was the toll tag. I would have sooner paid my own tolls rather than pay R50 for you to do it! Thanks

I needed a cost-effective solution to move from London to Kent. After speaking with the team over the phone, I visited their office to ensure everything was legitimate. I was very impressed by their professional setup and the range of well-maintained vehicles available.

I hired a spacious van, which was immaculately clean and fully fuelled upon collection. Returning the van the next day was just as smooth — the customer service was outstanding.

Since then, I’ve returned for further rentals and received the same excellent service each time. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of reliable vehicle hire.

Businesses like this truly deserve to be recognised and commended.

They never have the car you are offered when booking online. They only have tinny and tiny Suzuki cars that are always "in the same category" as the one you booked.

Then, kiss your deposit goodbye. Numerous phone calls, emails, reference numbers and promises.....you will loose the deposit and eventually just realise you were scammed.

First rent a car Bulgaria es UNA ESTAFA. Allí haces el papeleo en la calle, con las condiciones meteorológicas que sean, Te cogen el depósito de 500 € Y a día de hoy ya ha pasado dos meses y no lo devuelven. Te marean con mandar correos y te dicen que llames a otro número de teléfono pero la realidad es que nosotros hemos perdido 500 €. No contratéis nada con ellos.

OCCHIO SONO DEI TRUFFATORI, NON RESTITUISCONO LA CAUZIONE DI 1000 LEV 500 EURO CIRCA. NON PRENDETE AUTO A NOLEGGIO. A PENSARE CHE HO PRENOTATO TRAMITE BOOKING CHE SI STA LAVANDO LE MANI. TUTTO ASSURDO, NON MI ERA MAI SUCCESSO.

Fortunately I have not had any of the bad experiences others have described and was very happy with the service I received in November last year. I'd like to compliment Luke who checked out the car to me at the airport - what an efficient, polite and courteous young man! He's a credit to the company.

Good price , staff at the desk were great , I returned the car with a chip on the windscreen which I pointed out to them - expected a huge bill as I had my own insurance - a few days later , got a bill for ......£7.60 . No rip off - will happily use again .

THEY ARE THIEVES. YOUR CAR HIRE PRICE WILL BE TRIPLE OF WHAT THEY QUOTE BECAUSE THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR POLICY WHEN YOU COLLECT THE CAR. IF YOU THINK THE PRICE INCLUDES INSURANCE AND UNLIMITED KILOMETRES (EVEN WHEN YOU CONFIRM IT IN PERSON) IT DOESN'T. THE DEPOSIT AMOUNT IS HUGE (ALMOST R30,000) AND THEY WILL KEEP AT LEAST HALF OF IT FOR BOGUS FEES. IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO BUY A SMALL CAR AND THEN SELL IT WHEN YOU'RE DONE.

They added unauthorised and illigitimate charges to my account after I returned the car. When I proved they were illegitimate they simply closed the query. I am being forced to lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman as they are singularly unhelpful.
