Despite the claim, you can't actually choose the airline
I chose the "return flight" that was operated by Lufthansa so that I would avoid Latam, since it's the airline I'm actually flying with and they could possibly verify my ticket. Lo and behold, the generated ticket had Latam, and not Lufthansa. Wawa
