Seemed really easy to set up online. Just had a wee issue with payment plan but was easily resolved via a quick call, which again proved very easy & convenient. Customer service was very helpful.

No support when diagnosed with cancer

I took out credit to undertake a H&S course but due to ill health (cancer and undergoing chemotherapy)
I was unable to complete the course and lost my job.
I had 1 payment left and reached out to etika for help.
my email was ignores and a default letter sent out.
I have paid now out of my small savings. just wanted to say well done to etika for not having a heart our even responding to emails

Having reviewed your details I can see that a member of our team responded to you on 24th July 2024, outlining the options we had available, however we failed to receive a response.

We resent this communication on the 15th of August 2024, when you made us aware you hadn't received a response. Again, we received no response. We are sorry if this didn't reach you

We look to support any consumer who is experiencing a change in circumstances with an ad-hoc plan that fits with their personal circumstances.

Fraudulent company harrassing people for non-opted services

I never completed their application with Vitality for Amazon Prime once I learned that it required a 12-month commitment. I left the application incomplete and exited the process. However, they still enrolled me without my knowledge until I started receiving emails about missing payments.

I immediately tried to contact them via email, but their response was that they couldn't help and couldn't cancel the subscription. They advised me to reach out to Vitality. After several days of contacting Vitality, they managed to cancel the subscription. Yet, Etika continues to harass us with emails and calls demanding a total outstanding payment of £79.

We informed them that we never opted for this service and never used Amazon Prime. I can prove this by showing our Amazon Prime account, which never redeemed their voucher (though I still don't know where to find this ).

I am willing to challenge them in court if they can prove that I redeemed their Amazon deal or completed their application.

There is no way we are going to pay a single penny for a service we never used!I would never engage with anything associated with Etika again.

This has been the worst customer experience, dealing with a fraudulent company that loots and harasses people!

Sorry you feel that you never completed the application journey, however we can't agree that this is the case.

We can see we had contact with you during the application process and you supplied documentation to support your application, including e signing the Fixed Sum Loan agreement.

You later sent us a request to cancel the agreement, which would confirm you were fully aware you had applied and been approved; however, you were outside of the 14-day cooling off period.

Vitality supplies a unique code to enable access to the Prime benefit, which provides a year of access. We have no visibility or access to this code, as Vitality are the supplier of the goods. You will need to reach out to them if you feel a code was not received within your member zone.

They were ok up until last month they…

They were ok up until last month they did take the payment, now when I try to pay the system won't let me at all, this company is a joke they keep sending texts and emails but it won't accept payment, the website is slow and doesn't work fully, wish we never used them now

Thanks for the review and taking the time out to let us know of the issue you’ve encountered.

It appears that you have cancelled your Direct Debit, this will be the reason you are receiving the SMS and emails.

We do not take payment from a saved card on file, these are for you to make additional/missed payments only.

Sorry you feel the system isn't working but I can see the card wasn't working due to it being a commercial card, we only accept personal debit cards, registered in the agreement holder’s name. Sorry if you missed this information on the payment screen.

the collaboration with Vitaity on…

the collaboration with Vitaity on Amazon prime is a scheme. Even if the underlying program with Amazon is cancelled, Etika claims that they have provided a loan thatnedato be repaid (there are no oymentamdeto Amazon).

When applying for the Amazon Prime reward through Vitality, you enter into a 12 month fixed sum loan agreement, this is explained as part of the application process. You are required to give your permission for a credit check to take place and you also sign the loan documentation to agree to be bound by its terms & conditions.

Vitality's terms state that on leaving the Vitality health scheme you become fully liable for any of the rewards or benefits you have subscribed to, including any payments due.

Sorry if you feel this wasn't clear, however it is signposted at several points throughout the application journey.

Would not recommend

Opened an account, noticed my address showed extra door numbers, raised with no support to correct, case escalated to financial ombudsman, Etika then agreed to fix door number months later, they then recorded the town inaccurately. Case awaiting an ombudsman decision. They blamed the credit agency, a dsar shows they are at fault. Instead of trying to correct the errors and cover out of expenses costs they are pursuing the case to cause further distress and inconvenience. The information commissioner office is now involved. I'm happy to provide further information if anyone else uses this business. If you want to protect your data don't use this company. Very concerning!!
They contact you repeatedly by telephone even when you seek written communications.
They recorded wrong information on the credit search and instead of removing the search they claim the credit agency won't allow them to amend there own data. Sick of being treated like dirt. Better businesses out there!!

Thank you for the 3rd review, we appreciate the time you’ve taken to give us your feedback.

We will refrain from commenting on all elements and await the final response from the FOS. As you are aware the initial FOS decision states that the action we took off the back of your complaint means they’d overall consider the outcome fair.

However, we would like to make it clear that our application process for the retailer in question is a full online journey, it does not have input from an etika agent or that of our retail partner. All the information input is done so by the consumer, this data is what we use to then process our credit search and application decision. This data will also be what we share with the credit reference agency, any errors in that data will be due to the incorrect input on the application. We will endeavour to match the data at the credit reference agency, which in this case we successfully did.

We updated the incorrectly input house number, at your request, however we submitted the address in the format that was entered at application stage. We are sorry if you feel this is not the case.

We are sure the FOS will issue their final response shortly, where we can hopefully bring this matter to a close.

Etika are the finance partner for…

Etika are the finance partner for Vitality’s range of member offers whereby Bitality pay the premiums on financed goods or services so long as you maintain activity levels. Unfortunately one or the other of them is utterly useless at developing systems such that what should have been a simple renewal was a laborious and frustrating process.
Probably Vitality at fault as in my experience they are shockingly bad at almost everything they do but no way of telling if Etika are also at fault in this case.
