I really like the app, and I didn't cancel my subscription after the first week because I wanted to keep using it.
However, the subscription is advertised at $21.42 for 4 weeks, but I was charged $49.99 on my credit card. This is significantly higher than the advertised price, which is why I decided to cancel my subscription.
I genuinely enjoy using this app and would love to continue using it, but unfortunately, it's too expensive at this price. I hope you can look into this issue and offer a solution.

I like Eppika for its large selection of different stories. Also, for its different levels of language comprehension.
One issue I have is after pressing an unknown word for clarification, I then have to leave my place in the story, go back to the introductory page of stories to access the story. Is there a way to stop the reading and pick up where it stopped?

Unfortunately, I spent a few hundred dollars on learning Spanish apps before I found this app. Of course they were in much more detail, but just reading and then clicking on a word and getting it defined by the dictionary and then being able to speed up and slow down is the way I decided I wanted to learn my Spanish. I am moving to Ecuador on Wednesday to retire and I will be using this app a lot. It’s quick it’s easy and it works. I had a few minor issues in the beginning, but they contacted me and worked them out and we are all good. Probably the most important thing to me is the guy that runs this place is a good honest fellow. The other apps I was telling you about there were a total of about seven and six out of the seven all ripped me off in some way or form. Very misleading and would keep your money for the trial and then charge for a year things like that. This guy does not do that. He responds well and you can tell he has a genuine, good honest character so absolutely. I would recommend it for the honesty and integrity of the developer and it just works. keep reading and you will learn Spanish. Simple process but effective!

Good stories Correct level Can click on words to get translation and send to your dictionary.I think its good and Im not easy to please. I agree the initial questionnaire is much too long, i gave up the first time.

My goal for learning a language is reading not speaking. But you still need to know how to pronounce words to learn them. I’ve been looking/hoping for an app like this for years. Starting with text and having the ability to read what you can, but highlight unfamiliar words to learn (or confirm) the meaning and pronunciation is invaluable. I’m very excited about reviewing a language I’ve studied previously and even more excited about some needed assistance learning a new one.
This is a game changer for those of us who want to focus on reading rather than speaking.

Their questionnaire before joining was so long that I decided not to finish it, and I therefore never signed up. I also suspect that their translations of the books are AI based, since the text at sign-up was an unnatural sounding computer translated version of my native language.

You're right about the Danish. After your review we checked the sign-up text and found grammar mistakes, for example the wrong form of the language name before a noun ("spansk bøger" instead of "spanske bøger"). We've passed them to our developers.
The books are separate from that. You read them in the language you're learning, not in Danish. AI adapts each book to your level, and an editor reviews every book before it's published.
The questionnaire is long, and we have a four-step version: language, level, email, name. If you'd like to try again, write to support@eppika.com and we'll send you the link.
