I bought the complete German course in the spring sale.

Overall, the product is minimal in quality. The formatting is a basic Microsoft Word job. The content begins with long, rambling introductions which don't really offer any useful guidance, and the taught material which follows is very sparse; I don't really believe it is possible to achieve the advertised proficiency levels in a language using these resources, and it certainly does not replace real language courses.

The further you go into the books, the more obvious it becomes that at least a significant amount of the content is AI-generated. If you've ever seen an LLM make a mistake and then try to correct it, you know exactly the sort of circular logic and fallacies they can fall into. It seems improbable that a reputable expert in the German language would write the following representative example and consider it a helpful explanation:

> Wrong: Ich bin aus England. Ich heiße Tom. — with "Ich" capitalized mid-sentence ❌ Correct: Mein Name ist Tom. ich komme aus England. — wait, that's wrong too! Actually: ich is lowercase unless it starts a sentence. But the example should be: Mein Name ist Tom. Ich komme aus England. — here "Ich" IS capitalized because it starts a sentence. The mistake would be writing "...und Ich bin Student"with capital I in the middle.

It bears mentioning that the books list no authors' names, which any reputable textbook should. Perhaps this is because no reputable author wishes to be associated with it, but it seems more likely to be because there isn't one.

Because I bought this as a learning resource for a language I don't speak, I can't comment on whether any of the content is hallucinated, but the possibility has made this a wasted purchase for me.

I wouldn't recommend even trying out their content, as this dubious enterprise is going out of its way to avoid issuing refunds for its clearly defective and mis-sold product.

I love how easy it is to navigate! This all is a great thing to learn a language with and definitely would recommend!

By far the best! The lessons start from the very basics and help you build your language skills step-by-step. I’ve started the A1-A2 Polish course and I’m so excited—even though it’s a difficult language, you make it perfectly clear! Keep up the amazing work! ❤️

Read2Speak is perfect for learning a new language. Units are all well designed. And very good explained. If you start from the sentence in each unit and read and apply each sentences, you will definitely learn the language. I bought 3 language packs, English, German and Spanish. And they are all perfect. I advice everyone to buy language packs if you want to learn a new language

I’ve only worked with the Spanish course, but so far, I find the material easy to go through and I like the layout of the course.

The only thing I wish it had would be a reader that makes it easier to get through the PDFs and possibly an e-form of the workbook that I could mark up.

This is really an amazing method to learn languages! I am very very happy and making progress very fast. The pronunciation of each word is clearly written. Grammar is very well explained and you learn daily expressions through real life dialogues. I am about to finish the first books of Spanish and French.

I've purchased the full Russian course, and I’m honestly amazed! I’ve tried many language learning materials—from apps to books—but these are by far the best. The price is extremely affordable, especially if you choose the bundles, and the content is clear, well-structured, and very helpful. I have just bought the C1-C2 Dutch Mastery and Workbooks. The content is exceptional and excellent value for money. The explanations are clear and well written. My only disappointment is that there are no solutions to the exercises and you need a native speaker to check what you have written. Maybe this is not the case at lower levels where the answers are more black and white. However, I am impressed enough to probably buy the levels below too.

I purchased the Spanish and Greek courses, and I have found them to be very helpful for my language-learning routine! My method is to do some time on language learning apps, spend 30 mins to an hour working on my read2speak book, then watch tv in my target language. - each level has 15 lessons with ~30 exercises between the textbook and workbook, so tons of content.

I got the Spanish course and I’m absolutely delighted with it. Much better than Duo lingo or other apps I’ve tried. I think I won’t renew my Spanish course and I’ll just stick to the books as they offer enough explanations and exercises. Really happy with it and would recommend to anyone!

I bought the Spanish A1-A2 book and workbook. So far I am really happy with the content. The workbook helps a lot for repetition and I’ve learned a lot just from the first chapter. In my opinion you get a lot for the money. It is also very well written and everything is explained in a understandable manner.

I was suspicious because of their weird AI ads and intransparency, low follower number on IG and too good to be true customer reviews on the website... so i reached out and their costumer service was really amazing. they sent me a sample and it seemed legit, so i bought the course for russian. ive been trying to learn it for 4 years, but my approach was extremely chaotic, multiple books, apps and online material, i couldnt memorize or understand anything properly. and THIS course! I tell you! changed my whole learning routine!! the grammar is so simply and clearly explained, i finally understand everything! absolutely idiot proof. the exercises are easy and repetitive, which helps you memorize and make fast and easy progress. the layout is super simple, no images, no distractions. i am more than amazed and can only recommend it! my favourite part of the day is literally sitting down and doing a chapter of this, because the progress is so so satisfying! 100% recommend.

only downside is that sometimes there are little formatting mistakes and human error, nothing that will negatively impact your learning tho. Eg once i had to fill out a blank and the answer was already written in there because they forgot to erase it. haha :D

Above level B2 you can expect a book about French written in French. But it‘s in English, designed for Anglophone learners only(!), and therefore of extremely little use for me as a German. Besides, it‘s a lot of bits and pieces to work through with heavy brain effort, not something immersive to dive in, enjoy and digest towards „feeling the language instead of translating“ — ironically that‘s exactly the core message the creators keep pointing out through the whole book.

A preview would have made that clear, but that’s missing on the adverts page. I am over all disappointed and would not buy the book again.

The examples are great, though, and help better understand why foreigners speak „weird“ French by translating instead of actually thinking in French.

If you‘re looking for a guide for French and want to reflect on how you produce your phrases, you‘ll find it useful and might even love the book. But if you really want to improve from B2 level towards C2 through immersive activities: get something else.

I've tried it all, Duolingo, private teacher following a curriculum, trying to cram vocabulary/expressions using self-managed Anki, asking AI for exercises, various flashy apps using AI .. learning Portuguese for 3 years now, but never really breaking through the B1-B2 plateau, always making the same mistakes or stumbling over the same misunderstood concepts. There was always something missing, connection with the materials, deeper explanations, repetition or simply motivation. At first, I did not understand what Read2Speak was about - there is actually no speaking involved - but a very well made "grammar curriculum" with no-nonsense explanations, real-word examples and plenty of exercise materials. And with plenty I mean PLENTY! 700-900 pages in each ebook and workbook. Intimidating at first, but 90% are exercises! After the first unit, I feel so much more confident with irregular verbs!
I use the ebook on my iPad and print the chapter in the workbook for easier use. The pages wait for me on the kitchen counter, so whenever I need a coffee break or feel bored, I do a few exercises! It's so simple!
So far, 100% motivated!
If you want good value for money, you cannot go wrong here! I even already got an update of the files after a few days - so these materials are alive and constantly improved. These books are excellent companions to any language learning path. Five stars from me - this is exactly what I need!

The textbook/workbook and audio products are great resources for learning a new language or brushing up on languages learned a long time ago.

The responsiveness of the customer support team to iron out some teething issues with their lifetime access pass was great.

If you are interested in more than one language or are using this to prepare for travel, consider the lifetime access pass.

I confined my first purchase to the A1-A2 course in German. I did this because I had reservations over learning a language and feeling confident about pronunciation from a set of printed notes. My reservations were quickly set aside. Read2Speak has provided the most comprehensive and professional sets of notes I've ever encountered! Moreover, not only are the languages available as "complete" courses (A1-C2) but they can also be bought in separate packages, all for 'one-off' fees AND any revisions / updates to the courses are provided without further payment being required. If that's not enough, the team is also happy to listen to suggestions for amendments to their existing courses and for suggestions for new language courses to be developed. Some courses also have very good audio files.
I've now bought more than half-a-dozen complete packages for languages I've 'dabbled in' over the past 60 years and if my suggestions for courses in Ukrainian and Welsh materialise, then I know I'll eventually be the proud purchaser of at least 10 courses and I look forward to being a half-decent polyglot (if there is such a thing!) before I'm 80.
I have no qualms in recommending Read2Speak language courses to anyone who is serious about learning the language(s) of their choice: just go for it / them and thoroughly enjoy your purchase(s).
