I have used Energise Africa for many…
I have used Energise Africa for many years to invest in renewable energy projects in Africa. They generally have higher than normal returns but are not risk free. Most have paid back on schedule. but a few have indicated delays in repaying. So it is good if you want to support socially beneficial projects but remember that it is not risk-free.

Transparency
I have been investing small amounts of money in Energise Africa for a few years and have always felt well-informed with an easy-to-use website that helps me make decisions. I have had one investment go bad, but that is always a risk with investments and I had certainly had the risks laid out to me in the offer document before I invested. For those of us who want to invest ethically the Energise Africa platform provides all the information you need.

Good way to invest in green energy and help people in Africa
Website a bit slow, but recently improved. Regular email updates on new investments - be warned, you have to be quick to invest, as these are usually full to completion very quickly. There is a risk to capital, which is highlighted on the website and in the documents, mitigated by spreading investments.

Great organisation and projects but capital at risk
Energise Africa is an amazing organisation. It is efficient and the website has all the information needed and is very well designed. The website also provides information on the impact of the projects I have invested in.
Investing in these kind of project is high risk but it is possible to invest small amounts of money and feel that the money is being used for environmental and economic good in the communities being supported

Have lost 2.5k from an investment
Have lost 2.5k from an investment. Yes I know they give a warning and went in knowing this in theory but I really am not sure on the quality of diligence that is really being done. Especially given the complete lack of information they have provided over previous 3 years

Energise Africa has a well-developed and thorough due diligence process where organisations are individually assessed and visited by our team. All offers are signed off by an independent credit committee and are also subject to review to ensure relevant statements are verified and the promotion is fair, clear and not misleading.
We do our best to be as transparent as possible and provide our investors with regular updates on all projects. We communicate as soon as possible when we believe that an offer may not perform as anticipated. We also look to update our investors via their portfolios on any good news and updates from investee organisations as often as possible. We do also publish the financial performance of all our Investees (including those that are not performing) and this is maintained on our website on a quarterly basis. You can access this via the Portfolio Overview link in our website footer. We do take your comments on board, however, and will continue to try to improve our communications with investors.

Good organisation doing good stuff
This is a good organisation doing good things and am happy to be involved with it. Once it is set up it seems easy to use. Of course there is risk and that is not in any way hidden. They seem good at telling you when things are not going to plan but have (significant) further work to do in explaining what is going on to those of us who do not understand finance
