Corrosion Resistant Coating Malfunction
I bought a full set of disks and pads for my RR Sport SVR. The disks had the new Geomet style grey corrosion protection coating which is meant to keep your rotors rust free for years. I had these disks on not even 6 months and all the rotor hubs have started rusting already.
I complained to EBC and was offered a full refund by their distributor, however I’m now left with the cost to fit new disks and pads as they wouldn’t reimburse me for this.
I will definitely not be buying disks from EBC again. All in all a bad experience.
I purchased the brake set from EBC Brake Shop POTN Ltd, which were very fast in refunding my money once I had spent several days disputing the integrity of the disks with EBC. My order number was INV-GB-4049.
I am writing this review now as the disks have become progressively worse and the corrosion is now very obvious and spoils the aesthetics of the car considerably. Not even a year old and hubs are fully corroded and I’ve only done less than 4,000 miles.

EBC have really turned it around
EBC have really turned a corner as a company. The usage guide for colours now on the box (and I'm sure the website) is spot on to my experience. I've done a lot of track driving and it has been hard to find a good pad for a road legal car. Most 'track & road' pads over temperature too easily after 5-6 laps on a 1500kg car. Pagid RS series are good on track but awful for brake squeel on the road. I've found EBC blue stuffs to be the perfect combination. Pad wear on track is high, but they make good consistent friction across the temperature range and give decent pedal feel and no squeel when cold on the road.
In the bad old days I had issues with EBC red and yellow stuff pads and I haven't tried returning to them but I understand they have done significant work to improve the quality of manufacture and the proof is in the pudding. Highly recommend and at a nice price point too.

Great service and product
Great service and product, thought the pads would be delivered to my home address instead of the local newspaper shop. But that's my only moan, the quality is superb and has made a massive difference to my braking.
