I have had nothing but unexpected and…

I have had nothing but unexpected and unprofessional issues pretty much every 3 months with this company for an entire year. Starting from double charging me one month for my monthly payment which is about $1,200 to forcing me to rush to get insurance which increased what I was paying monthly, and now a 10 day notice to return my Vehicle. I also agreed with this company to keep my car an extra year after they offered an extension 3 months prior requesting the vehicle back. This is extremely stressful and a financially unstable situation DRIVEGO keeps putting their customers in continuously. I am disgusted and I am pretty sure these situations should be handled legally.

It was a good and affordable concept…

It was a good and affordable concept which allowed me to look the other way each time they had a setback. Unfortunately the current situation with clawing back their cars on relatively short notice and the incompetency around it is a bit much to ask to overlook.

As others have noted, they withdrew the included insurance which was both cheaper and more convenient so it's a bit mystifying that it was decided based on feedback as opposed to being a cost cutting measure. Subsequently they also discontinued included maintenance while maintaining the monthly rates the same, therefore receiving significantly less value at the same price point.

Finally we get to the point of them cancelling our agreements prematurely, which contractually they are well within their rights to, but clearly won't translate into good press. At first I tried to take it in stride and said it was a good run while it lasted and they offered me a competitive price to purchase the vehicle, which I know I'm in the fortunate minority who are able to do so. I feel bad for others affected who do no have this option as it puts them in a very challenging position. Even if we look past the fact that the amount of time they provided was inadequate during the summer when people are often traveling, having to pay them $300+ to retrieve the car they are effectively repossessing or take a day off of work to return it to a far flung locale, the inconvenience of securing your own financing and having a $30k expense pop up on the spot with zero notice. What was very unprofessional and is a clear indicator of the mismanagement that led them to this dire situation is that they incorrectly quoted me for the buyout option by over a couple thousand dollars! They had me secure my own financing (because their dealer partner was asking above market rates), have a hard credit check run on my account and then left it to myself and the dealer partner to figure out the price they gave me was too good to be true. They eventually quoted me the higher buy out rate and had me restart the whole financing and decision making process all over again as the clock they imposed kept ticking downard.

I know they will reply and say: "Interest rates have risen sharply over the past 18 months which, unfortunately, created excessive negative cash flow for a portion of our fleet. Etc." I get all that. They're in business to make money and I applaud them for that. Based on all the "gotchas" I've seen in just under a year with them, it's not surprising to hear that managerial mistakes, financial miscues and a lack of attention to detail have done them in to have to resort to these measures that will have a long lasting reputational effect.

The carelessness of misquoting my buyout price is indicative that they did not spend much effort or thought into the repossession process either. I think working in good faith and having some semblance of flexibility would've saved them a shred of credibility.

Go Is Offering A Solution To Us

Like many others we have been impacted by the decision to recall a portion of their fleet. We have had a very nice vehicle from them since March 2022 and our experience has been positive overall. They have always been responsive and provided good service. After discussing this with our rep there, we now better understand the circumstances that led to this difficult decision for them. As a relatively new company would you want to have to deliver your customers this news ? The agreement they use does say they have the right to request the vehicles back at any time. Obviously the interest rate, inflationary & capital markets environment made it impossible to keep the affected vehicles in service at those pricing levels. So what do you do as a new company: continue to lose borrowed money or take steps to ensure your business can remain viable ? They have been trying to work with customers and did arrive at a solution that we are pleased with. This is a fairly new business model and will probably evolve over time, but we welcome not having to visit a car dealership, haggle with 3 different people and spend 4 hours there. I believe they will adjust the model and remain a very refreshing alternative to traditional car buying and leasing. We will be hanging in there with Go.

Great concept, horrible execution

We loved the subscription model concept and were really excited about go subscription from the beginning. It had its initial startup bumps with customer service and Pennsylvania tags not being on the car when it was delivered but we stuck it out hoping it would get better.

It did not. Not only did they hike insurance rates, but then out of the blue they canceled our subscription due to unforseen circumstances. I tried calling their customer service to receive an explanation and never was and to get ahold of a real person. I'm surprised to see people's reviews on here with a 30 day return window as we only had 10 and had to drop it off!! This was our only car and we had to scramble to make a decision on what to do.

Not only did this company not care to provide quality customer service but the explanation they are now providing on here is ridiculous and just goes to show that their poor business practices impacted them more than just their negative cash flow...

Also, they removed their Google page so you can't review them there. Another shady business practice strikes again.

Scam, changed agreement multiple times unfavorable with almost no notice

Signed a drivego agreement a year ago that they have removed features on, increased insurance, and then gave me 30 days notice to return the car due to “unforeseen circumstances” on their part without any explanation and are asking to return it hours away or pay $400 to have it picked up. Company is a scam and screws over its customers in a number of different ways. Do not subscribe!!!

Unreliable vendor changing terms and conditions in unpredictable life-changing ways. Scumbags.

While it is irrelevant since our interaction as customer and vendor is drawing to a close, I am very disappointed in the way that I have been treated by Drive GO. I initially signed up for a car that had insurance included and Drive GO made it seem that I would have the car for multiple years. They modified the terms and conditions of our agreement several times, and removed insurance, so I paid that out of pocket. That was incredibly disappointing and expensive, especially when I couldn't get insurance at the same rate that they were offering as part of the package. When I was getting insurance they also insisted on these additional insurance conditions that increased the price of the insurance. At that time, they still made it seem like the relationship would continue for a long time, so I proceeded and purchased six months of insurance and agreed to continue with the car. Less than six months later, with no warning, I am told I have to return the car. They're right, they have a legal agreement but adhering to the black letter law of the agreement in a situation like this where the customer has done nothing wrong, continuing to pay the monthly fee is not fulfilling your stated 'unwavering goal ... to nurture trust and provide a positive experience'. Irrespective of that, I decided to inquire at the 'wholesale' cost of the car because I need a car and they were offering to sell it to me, and a wholesale cost sounds like a bargain. Instead of a genuine offer, they make an offer in excess of Kelly Blue Book for the same car. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.

EDIT: In response to the canned statement below and to all prospective users of this business in the future:

We live in inflationary times. We all know that, and anyone who signs up knowing that this business' response to any kind of increase in their costs is to cut their customers loose, and demand the return of their car is deluding themselves. The actions of GO have shown they're not in a strong position, and that they have to screw over a significant number of people (think about the number of reviews you're reading), risk the inevitable backlash or go under. That's hardly the actions of a business in a strong position. They screwed us, and they'll screw you too.

Highly unreliable

They were great. I started my subscription at a low rate compared to what they currently offer because I subscribed when they were very new. I’ve always paid on time and have taken great care of the car. Today they canceled my subscription “due to unforeseen circumstances” aka “we can make more $ with other customers”. They advised me that they were taking back my car in 30 days and offered only to either buy it or choose another car for $300/month more. Not the best way to treat your first customers. Subscribers beware.

More or less a scam. They keep breaking up the agreement frequently and randomly.

To Go Inc: I suggest you quit car subscription business. Your company management actually disturbs my life a lot:
first you asked me to get my own insurance with a few days' notice, and I tried to get one. Now you force me to return my car also with a few days notice. Then I have to find a new car somewhere within a few days, have the Go car picked up for $395, and talk to my insurance company to get my paid insurance premium back.

Scam.

I paid as requested. They then stopped communicating regularly and changed the terms of the contract at will. The rate included insurance and maintenance. They provided insurance, and then they told me I had 3 days to get my own insurance. THEN maintenance was no longer included. Now, I have 30 days to return my car. I had a 3 year subscription. It’s been not even 7 months. Now I have to rush and buy a car because I obviously NEED a car. Do not trust them.

SERIOUSLY THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY: Transcript of the chat when they gave me less than 30 days cancelling the agreement for no reason:
This decision was made as a last resort, after considering all other options. Our company, like many others, is grappling with significant economic factors, including the ongoing inflationary environment and escalating interest rates. These factors have adversely affected our ability to provide services in the manner we have been.
Our top priority has always been to deliver quality service to our customers, and in the present circumstances, maintaining the subscription model would compromise that commitment. To protect both our customers and the long-term sustainability of the company, we felt this course of action was necessary.

Yep - Screwed Over Too!

Same here. Just got a text and email that I have to return the car. I don't know how they think someone is going to swap into a new car that costs twice as much. Who would ever trust them again. This is unconscionable and a sure sign that they are going out of business - which they should. So many promises to reel us in and then we are screwed over. I also paid extra every month for extra miles that I haven't used yet, but they will not give a refund.

I guess when something seems too good to be true, it is. At this time when so many people are suffering, this is a cruel blow. We are left carless and with interest rates that have skyrocketed. We'd be in a better position if we had used a different company to get our cars last year. Thanks GO for screwing us over.

Deceptive Lease Practices, Lease Cancelled for no fault of my own

I recently experienced a shocking and unjust situation with GO Subscription, LLC that I must bring to light. After committing to a 36-month lease with them in April 2022, I was appalled when, just 14 months into the agreement, they abruptly terminated my subscription. This premature cancellation is not an isolated incident but has affected numerous individuals, all due to GO Subscription's own faults and shortcomings.
Contrary to their claims, the impact of these cancellations can be seen in the recent reviews, clearly demonstrating that a large number of customers have been affected.

What makes matters worse is the company's proposed solutions, which only serve to punish loyal customers like myself. Instead of honoring the original lease terms, they offer alternative options that result in higher monthly payments and inferior lease terms. It is unacceptable to penalize customers who have been with the company since its inception by canceling their leases and pushing them into unfavorable arrangements.

This pattern of behavior indicates a blatant disregard for customer loyalty and an unwillingness to rectify their own mistakes. By canceling leases without valid justification and forcing customers into less favorable agreements, GO Subscription, LLC is clearly prioritizing their own interests over the well-being of their valued customers.

When I contacted the company to discuss the sudden termination of my 36-month lease, I was met with a shocking revelation. Despite claiming to operate as a month-to-month subscription model, they justified their ability to cancel leases at any time. This statement stands in stark contrast to the truth, as they impose a hefty $999 restocking fee for early returns on a 36-month lease.

This clear contradiction raises serious doubts about the company's integrity and their treatment of customers. While they assert the right to cancel any subscription during the 36-month lease period, they fail to extend the same flexibility to consumers. By imposing a substantial restocking fee, they effectively penalize customers who may need to return the vehicle before the lease term is up. Such manipulative practices blatantly disregard the well-being and financial interests of consumers.

I implore those considering GO Subscription, LLC to exercise extreme caution. They have shown a disregard for the sanctity of lease agreements and a willingness to exploit their customers for their own financial gain. It is crucial that we hold them accountable for their unfair practices and demand better treatment from subscription-based companies.

Do Not Trust This Company

Do Not Trust This Company! I signed up because it made sense to my situation: #1) A predictable car payment, #2) predictable insurance payment all in 1 monthly payment. A few months into my "journey" with this company and they removed the insurance and told me to get my own??? Ok... since I still needed to car, I went to and got my own policy, but now the insurance is more than twice the payment. Not happy, but while I was looking at other options, I get another message 1 month later saying I need to return the car in 10 days!!!! WHAT? I've never missed or made a late payment and this is how they treat their customers.

I recommend everyone to stay away from these people. They cannot be trusted. The options given to me are #1) buy the car from them... #2) return the car back (oh, and they won't pick it up, you have to return it)... or #3) get a different car..the cars that they have available are considerably more expensive then what I was paying.

These people are shady and do not care about the people that took a chance with them. I regret the decision to go with them, don't make the same mistake as me.

P,S. Have you noticed that the Google reviews are now missing? Kinda makes you think it's not "isolated to a hand few of people?.."

Go Car Subscription is terminating my subscription!!

Go Car Subscription is terminating my 3 year subscription only a year into it. They are asking for the car to be returned in 10 days!! First they dropped my insurance and asked me to get my own and now this. I asked for an extension and they refused, very helpful Go, give me a break. Go stopped their no cost maintenance which was in the agreement I signed a year ago without informing me of the change. Go committed two breaches of the original agreement and this is the final insult. They also took down their location on their website and also removed their Google reviews, there is no option for it. I will be contacting my attorney today and filing a class action lawsuit against this company. Don't bother with this company.

Update: Go sent me car return instructions, they expect me to drive one hour to South Jersey to drop the car off between 9am to 4pm on a weekday or pay $395 for someone to pick up the car and to e-sign a PDF to agree to it. I email the company and cc'ed the CEO Michael Beauchamp and have not heard back. I told them I would not sign and that I will not be paying anything for them to pick up their own car. There is no reason to do business with them, they will deliver you a car that they can take back with 10 days notice, do not provide insurance or maintenance. Please tell me where the upside is?

Update: I received an email back from Go and they will pick up the car free of charge but will not give me the one month's car payment refund they offered before. I told them fine and that I will NOT be signing any PDF agreements. At this rate this company will be Go'ing out of business.

Also they used to offer preventative maintenance as part of the deal and quietly removed that. Some people also had to find their own insurance. The company is going downhill, and to any potential customer: don't!

The reason for this may not matter, but we wanted to share nonetheless: Interest rates have risen sharply over the past 18 months which, unfortunately, created excessive negative cash flow for a portion of our fleet (~10%). It was not an easy decision, and one that saddens all of us, but necessary to ensure the long-term outlook of our company. We set out to provide customers an exponentially better offering and experience than the status quo, but we failed you. GO is in a strong position to grow, and we hope to eventually earn back your trust in the future.

Do not believe their hype - STAY AWAY

Do not believe their hype. It really is too good to be true. Same story as other reviews. We started our subscription last April, and it was supposed to be for 36 months. To stave off insolvency because they over-promised and are under-delivering, they're demanding the car back and offering terrible terms to make us whole. They want us to pay them to come pick it up the car even though termination was not initiated by us.

They've never fully delivered on their promises, slowly diminishing their end of the deal over the last year until this final straw. They've clearly shown they do not care about their customers or living up to their own hype.

Too good to be true? Nah.

Too good to be true?
Not really. The catch is that they can cancel the subscription at any moment and that is mentioned somewhere in the fine print. I subscribed the vehicle in April 2022. In June 2023, they cancelled the subscription without proper justification and asked to return the vehicle within 10 days. So that's the catch and its not so good.

On their website, they present it as refresh vehicle every 3 years which gives a false assertion that you will be able to drive the vehicle for 3 years, but that's not true. You will end up in a difficult situation when you don't want to be in.

Yes, I agree while subscribing the vehicle, you will not have stress or do any negotiation, but when they keep changing their policies (yes they changed their insurance policy, return policy multiple times within a year) and cancel the subscription without proper justification or compensation, its much more stressful. It disrupts the ongoing life.

When customer cancels the subscription they charge you $999 but when they cancel the subscription they only give 1 month compensation.

Save your time and money and better go with other options. Its not worth the time and money. Ownership or traditional leasing seems to be more better option.

Hi Niket - Our team reached out to you today to try to provide a better resolution. Were you able to speak with them? While it doesn't alleviate the inconvenience of having to return the car, it is worth noting that this was not a 3-year lease.
