Cars are covered in scratches for starters.

At Heraklion airport they pretend card machine doesn’t work and they pretend this is some new issue - see all other reviews.

They certainly don’t take Amex or Amex refuse to deal with them because they are a scam.

They take a deposit and them when you return it rushed for your flight, no money arrives but you have to go. This is all part of the scam.

You will return the car. They will pretend sone scuff or other amongst the hundreds on the car is your fault and charge you €250 (regardless of the damage see all other reviews. Same time and time again)

AVOID

We booked over carjet because it was cheaper than Drive itself. They did not pick us up until we phoned them, although having arrival time and flight number. Anyway, when we got to their headquaters we gave our licenses and tried to pay the rest. My credit card got declined 3 times. I called my bank and credit card provider. They all said its cleared and ready to use. I tried again, did not work. Then they wanted to sell us additional insurance because then we can pay with debit. But we already booked insurance with carjet. One of us had another working credit card, but they did not want to take it becaue the person did not have their drivers license with her (just a photo and ID). We did have no other choice than to double book insurance.
I tried my credit card on a cash machine and a store. It worked everywhere.
On returning everything went smoothly, but we also took photos and videos of every little thing.
In the end it could have been a technical flaw, but they didnt even consider it. And we feel scammed.

Drive Hellas started right out poorly. I noted a pickup time of 11:30AM for a meet at the Santorini airport, but they put it down as 10AM (before my flight even took off!), so no one met us. It took multiple calls and online lookups to get a working number (one was a sex line!), and then finally get picked up an hour late. The pricing was average. We got an "automatic", but were not told that it was sort of hybrid- you had automatic gears, plus an RPM gauge and an upshift/downshift slot for hills and the like. I got used to it, but why not explain it right off, esp. as I am in a foreign country with awful drivers from the get go? The car functioned alright once I got the hang of the hybrid aspect. All the folks who rented at Hertz just got their car right at the airport, and that's a much better way to go.

Unser Wagen war gepflegt und noch recht jung. Bei der Übergabe kann ich nur dringend empfehlen, alles von oben bis unten zu fotografieren! Bei der Rückgabe wurde alles sehr genau untersucht, es war aber alles in Ordnung. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterin bei der Rückgabe!

They are swindlers, and you will deeply regret the moment you decided to rent from them, as your vacation will turn into an absolute nightmare.

They handed us a complete wreck of a car, and we literally spent 10 minutes meticulously assessing the multitude of scratches covering the entire vehicle. We picked up the car from Thessaloniki Airport (there was no sign of them waiting for us), and we struggled immensely to reach Pelion because, let me emphasize, the car was an absolute wreck. We didn't move it an inch and left it parked in the private lot we had access to.

When we returned the car they had the audacity to charge us a staggering €400 for a supposed tiny scratch. €400! It was crystal clear that the gentleman was hell-bent on squeezing every last penny out of the customer, with no regard for fairness. This exorbitant amount was outrageous, considering that you could probably purchase a used car for that sum. It is an utter disgrace on their part, and if I had the time, I would relentlessly pursue legal action against them, as they are nothing but thieves, cheats, and exploiters who take advantage of innocent people.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Drive car rental company at Heraklion Airport in Crete. Despite arriving late for our pick-up due to a flight delay and difficulty finding the rental company, we were charged an additional 24 euros. While this was somewhat understandable, it set the tone for an overall unpleasant experience.

The car was in a terrible condition when we received it. It was covered in scratches and dents, and the bumper and license plate area were heavily damaged. Although the woman who initially greeted us was friendly and provided us with water, she seemed embarrassed about the state of the car and suggested we try to bring it back clean. We did our best to inspect the car in the dark, but it was difficult to spot all of the scratches and dents. Despite this, we were careful with the car and did not add to its already damaged state.

When we returned the car, the manager - a completely different person than the woman who greeted us - was unfriendly and seemed determined to extract more money from us. He pointed out marks on the car that were previously unnoticed by us due to the bad light, and claimed that we had caused the damage. When we disputed this, he refused to give us our deposit back and demanded that we pay 250 euros to cover the supposed damage.

It was clear that the manager was well-versed in this scam and knew exactly how to make extra money from unsuspecting customers. He knew we were in a rush to catch our flight and had us backed into a corner. It was a deeply frustrating and infuriating experience.

I want to warn others about this company's shady practices and lack of customer service. If you choose to rent from Drive car rental, be prepared to be taken advantage of and scammed. Additionally, be sure to inspect your car thoroughly in good light before accepting it, as checking it over in the dark with only the light from your phone is virtually impossible.

I would suggest you pick a different car rental company. It may seem cheap at first, but when you return the car they will inspect a car with 125.000 kilometers like it is new. And they will try and let you pay for the scratches that are not on the form. Which are plenty on an old car with this mileage no matter how careful you noted them on the form. They try to let you pay 185€ per scratch! I did make pictures when i accepted the car. A scratch they made me pay for showed in this picture, but they just didn't care. It's a scam.

We moesten 2u30 wachten op onze bagage? Gebeld naar Drive Hellas, geen antwoord. Gebeld naar Carjet de Brooker, geen antwoord (zondag). Toen we de auto gingen afhalen, was het contract verlopen (meer dan 2 u) 520€ verloren. Nieuw contract 830€? Geweigerd, en geprobeerd het verschil bij te betalen. No way, dus ergens anders gehuurd. Onderzoek door toerist politie, alles in orde. Reactie Carjet, wij niet verantwoordelijk!

The car we rented had a lot of damages. Upon pick up 20 points were noted. In addition, we found out later that the car had a problem with the clutch which got stuck at several occasions. We called the Rental company but no solution was offered.

Upon drop off the agent noted a scratch in the bottom of the front bumper. The way the car was parked at pick up we did unfortunately not notice this. But we did notice that the bumper had several (6) significant damages which we noted in the contract. We were made to pay EUR 195 for a damage we are 100% certain we had not caused. It felt as a total scam and an obvious way for the company to get some extra payment. All in all, a very unpleasant experience.

Over the past 10 years we have rented cars several times a year in Greece and mainly with different rental companies in Thessaloniki. This is the first time we had a bad experience and we will obviously avoid Drive Hellas in the future. Reading previous reviews in Trust Pilot, it became clear that there are many clients of Drive Hellas that had exactly the same experience. Drive Hellas gets a poor score of 2.5. I wish I would have read these reviews before we booked with Drive Hellas.

On a positive note, there are so many other competent and honest rental companies to choose from.

Wir hatten den Mietwagen über Opodo gebucht. Schon bei der Übergabe am 30. September 2022 am Flughafen Heraklion wollte der Mann am Schalter uns unbedingt eine Versicherung aufschwatzen die den Selbstbehalt ausschließt und etwas um 200 € kosten sollte. Wir haben uns dagegen entschieden. Im Vertrag, der uns präsentiert wurde, war noch kein Vorschaden eingetragen. Wir fanden aber sehr sehr viele Schäden am Fahrzeug, Sogar eine Druckstelle am vorderen Stoßfänger. Wir haben auch Fotos gemacht. Als wir am 07.10.22 zurück kamen, fand der Mitarbeiter sehr zielstrebig einen Schaden den wir leider weder fotografiert noch entdeckt hatten. Vorn links unten war ein tiefer Kratzer der aber für den Laien von oben nicht zu entdecken war, den wir aber auch definitiv nicht verursacht haben.
Dafür wurden 280 € extra fällig. Ich hätte so etwas in Griechenland nicht vermutet. Jeder sollte hellhörig werden, wenn bei der Übergabe des Mietwagens kein einziger Vorschaden am Fahrzeug eingetragen ist. Vielleicht ist es auch sinnvoll von von zu Hause aus die Versicherung für den Selbstbehalt abzuschließen, denn hier ist sie wesentlich günstiger.
Noch besser ist es sicherlich vor der Buchung Bewertungen des Anbieters zu lesen und nicht zu buchen, wenn einige schlechte dabei sind.
Merke: Auch in Griechenland ist man vor Betrug nicht mehr sicher.
Die Firma Drive hat uns dies leider deutlich vor Augen geführt.

J'ai loué à l'aeroport de Preveza chez Drive une voiture pour une semaine (256 €). Je n'avais que très peu d'utilisation à faire de la voiture (je n'ai fait que 30 km et ne l'ai déplacé que 4 fois A/R aéroport compris) et je n'ai donc pas pris l'assurance.
A la prise du véhicule, de nombreux impacts et rayures un peu partout. L'employé n'accepte que d'en marquer quelques uns, les autres n'étant pas importants selon lui. J'en prends quelques uns en photos (les plus visibles) et lui fais confiance (comme je le fais toujours en Grèce où je loue des véhicules très régulièrement sans aucun problème jusqu'à présent, même avec des petits loueurs Discount, genre Green Motion)
Au retour, il se penche direct sous le pare-choc avant et me montre un accroc de peinture (rayure de 5 cm) sur le bouclier.
J'ai du payer 310 € pour soit-disant frais de réparation de cette rayure que je n'ai assurément pas faite et qui ne sera jamais réparée ! Arnaque sans aucun choix car caution de 900 € débitée en otage.
Un classique selon les forums mais qui ne m'était jamais arrivé après plus d'une trentaine de locations de véhicule auprès d'une dizaine de loueurs grecs différents. Vraiment pénalisant de salir ainsi l'image des "petits" loueurs.

558 € pour deux chocs que je n'ai pas fait ( pas de peinture écaillée, et l'agent au retour a été directement sur le choc sans regarder le reste. Bizarre non. Faites bien le tour de la voiture et faites des photos datées de la voiture. Toyota Yaris nka2159. Choc
Bas de caisse arrière et porte arrière : faites attention

Habe schon vor längerer Zeit den Mietwagen für Kreta gebucht.Leider würde mein Flug abgesagt .Neuen Flug gesucht und der Mietwagen Firma geänderte Ankunftszeit schriftlich mitgeteilt.Nach kurzer Zeit kam Retour Mail,das dies kein Problem ist.Nach Ankunft am Flughafen Heraklion,nach kurzer Suche den richtigen Container gefunden.Mitarbeiterin sehr freundlich und bemüht.Übergabe nach 10 min erledigt .Bei Rückgabe nach einer Woche und 1200km mehr am Tacho ebenfalls sehr freundlicher Mitarbeiter.
Rückgabe ging problemlos und Recht flott.Ich habe schon öfters Mietwagen benützt.Sa Drive ist für mich bisher das Kundenfreündlichste Unternehmen gewesen.

Oplichters Nikos en zijn maatje. € 282,00 moeten betalen voor een kleine beschadiging aan de onderzijde van de auto. Prestatie dat ze die na 1 seconde hadden gevonden. Slecht toneelstuk.

Do not use this company, they are SCAMMERS.

They use an old trick to get extra money from you. When you return your car they will say you have damaged it. We saw this happening to another couple when we picked up, AND then another couple when we dropped off.

We video our car inside and out before we drove away and made sure they saw us doing it. The man looked cross we were doing this, and was angry and rude to us when we explained why.

The man (accomplice was thin dark haired man with torn jeans and short beard, approx 5ft 8 inches) wrote a numerical code in the damage report section of the paperwork rather than filled out correctly, likely a code to indicate we had made our own records.

Greece is a wonderful country, I have visited regularly throughout my whole life. 99% of it is the people, who are generous and warm. Someone needs to sort these guys out as they are letting the side down.

Véhicule propre et récent, seul bé mol la caution débité de 600 € le lendemain de la location et attente 8 jours après le retour de nos congés afin que la somme soit à nouveau crédité!
Aujourd'hui fraude de ma CB , je reste sur ma fin.......
Limite cette agence, attention !

Wir hatten ein Auto in Preveza gemietet. Vor Übernahme von allen Seiten Fotos von vorhandenen Kratzern gemacht. Bei Abgabe schaute der Mitarbeiter ganz gezielt nach einem Kratzer unter dem Auto und verlangte dafür 310€. Für uns die definitiv mieseste Abzocke aller Zeiten 👎

Location d'un véhicule à Héraklion.
Nous n'avons pas souscris à l'assurance supplémentaire de 350 € pour 13 jours qui nous a semblé hors de prix.
Nous ne nous sommes pas méfiés et n'avons pas pris de photos du véhicule à la livraison .
Un petit éclat de peinture en bas du pare choc (déjà légèrement endommagé) nous a été imputé et facturé 200 € + 62 € de frais de dossier.
