Dolan Bikes Omdömen 450

Great service from start to finish - bike was a few weeks late but in the current climate that's no real surprise. My choice of wheels were unavailable when the time came to build, Dolan offered to swap to a slightly more expensive set without any additional cost to me. Bike rides like a dream, and the advice given about sizing was spot on. Happy customer.

So, lets get the 1 negative point out of the way first: the bike took an awful lot longer to arrive than was originally indicated by Dolan. Covid has obviously had an impact, as did a ship getting stuck in the Suez canal - both events arguably being outside of Dolan’s control. They did quickly respond to all my emails querying delivery dates however which is why I haven’t knocked a star off the review.
Now to the good points. Dolan were very helpful throughout the buying process. They offered excellent advice on frame and component sizing, taking into account my age, fitness, and the type of riding I do. They actually recommended a different frame size to the one which I thought would be most suitable, but then allowed me to try out an almost identically sized bike in their showroom, in order to give me confidence that their sizing suggestion was correct, prior to placing an order.
The bike itself (ADX disc titanium) is absolutely superb. Everything on it worked perfectly from the moment I collected it, with gear changes being crisp and smooth and the finish of the frame being excellent (I’m particularly impressed with the quality of the welding). The only adjustments I had to make were the usual ones - cleat settings, saddle and handlebar height.
The ride is smooth, responsive, and very noticeably quicker than my old aluminium framed hybrid. The bike is genuinely a joy to ride.

This is my 2nd Dolan, I have had a L'etape for the last five years. Just bought the Dolan Tuono Disc and what a bike. It looks fantastic, handles great and you get a lot for your money.

brilliant service from start of the bike spec to delivery. we discussed the bike spec for the type of cycling I do and the terrain, being the hilly roads of Cumbria. the bike was built around me and Dolan ensured that the advice given made sure the bike would meet my needs. the bike was delivered well packaged and protected. the bike has exceeded my expectations in terms of build quality, performance and has become the envy in my local tri club.

The whole experience top class from start to finish. Every mail answered quickly, bike delivered bang on time to Ireland, which given the current situation is commendable. The bike is just stunning, well built & looks awesome. Couldn't have been better.

Bought a couple of L'etape SL for my girlfriend and myself and we are very pleased with the bikes and the service!
All emails were followed up and due to not being able to go visit and get a fitting, I was able to have a conversation with a knowledgeable and friendly person who helped decide which size bike would be best based on provided measurements and a couple of photos and as above, the bikes are great!

I bought a GXC last autumn but today was the first time I took it out and tried it on different terrains - canal path, mud, rocks and single track. It was fantastic! The frame feels superbly balanced, the brakes are beautifully set up and the gearing just right for me. I did get a puncture when I hit a rock a bit hard but that didn’t spoil the morning. Others have suggested that including instructions for the Di2 would have been really useful - I agree.

Update to review below...finally got the bike on the road! After a quick bike fit (heel on pedal to set seat height and swapping spacers round on headset) off I went. I can honestly say I have never ridden a more sorted well put together bike. A complete joy to ride. Again many thanks will definitely buy from Dolan again!!!

I recently bought a Dolan Rebus complete bike with shimano ultegra groupset. which is a really nice bike for the money. Initially I spoke to the MD who advised me about frame geometry for my set up based on some basic measurements and my riding style/ needs. Then Stephen the sales manager was very helpful for advising me on what equipment to fit on it. Delivery was also on time, so all in all a great bike and professional service.

The whole buying experience with Dolan was great. I had a lot of questions over a period of time and they systematically answered all of those patiently and calmly.
I chose my bike, and the build time was completely on schedule, despite all the pandemic disruption; I had a lot of pro active communication.
Halfway through the build process, I found my fitting measurements which had been done before, I emailed them asking if they could change the build to this - they just said 'no problem' and did it.
I decided to pick up my bike from Liverpool and the guys were great when I got there. Went through in detail about the Dolan GXC Di2. Explained the whole Di2 experience.
I hear they may get into bike fitting as well, which is great as I plan to take my son back up there this summer to get the Ares.

The actual bike is performing brilliantly.

I didn't know much about Dolan until I met someone in Spain who rides them and was raving on about them. They were right!

This company doesn't even deserve the star option!

I emailed customer service to ask if they had a diagram or an image of the Pre Cursa bike frame in 45cm because in my previous experience, small bike frames usually have a slope top tube due to the geometry.

To my surprise, they replied saying and quote "The top tube maintains its flat aesthetic as like the image on the website" so I thought WOW! the first bike company I've come across that had the ideal frame I wanted.

However, I thought this was too good to be true so I did my own research. To my surprise, I found someone with the 45cm frame and the frame HAS a slope top tube. I felt a little deceived by the first response I got as the customer service agent said it would look the same as the website image. I replied with a reference image of the frame and asked them to re-confirm the frame specs and obviously they apologised and said it was a mistake. Fair enough but I still felt a little let down as I had hopes in buying that frame for a while and it wasn't what I expected.

I replied back expressing my opinion and explaining why I felt deceived by the response I got because if I had believed what the first customer service assistant told me and believed the top tube was straight, I and anybody else would of been an unhappy customer. But wait there!

The Manager responds with this:

"Just so you know we do not deceive anyone it was an honest mistake I take great exception to that sort of comment I suggest you look elsewhere as we obviously don’t meet your expectations."

I never thought a big company like this would ever respond in the way the manager just did to me today. I am honestly lost for words and disappointed! All I ask is for your staff to know their product and all I did was give a heads-up so a similar problem like frame spec mistakes wouldn't be repeated in the future for other potential customers but obviously the manager couldn't care less.

Another money hungry company in this industry.

Ordered an Etape SL 105 on 17th December as a 50th birthday present from my partner. Astonishingly it arrived today which is incredible over Xmas, and in the current Climate!!! The bike itself is stunning, I dont think there is a comparable out there at that price point!!

Fantastic advice, service and communication from start to finish from Steve and Mick at Dolan. After a number of phone calls re sizing (I’m in 5’7” and 30” leg and in between sizes) and build components. I ordered a GXA 2020 Small 2x11GRX and received it within 10days! Perfect fit and excellent frame finish. Would definitely recommend Dolan to anyone who is considering purchasing a bike.

I ordered a sugino 75 direct drive 2 crankset and a sugino Zen chainring from France, but before that, I just asked a couple of questions to them just to have some advices about the different sugino cranksets
I must say that the answers from Stephen at Dolan bikes were lighting fast and very precise.
In regards to the delivery it was as fast as Stephen’s answers. My crankset and chainring were very well packed and came in the original sugino box.

I can say without a doubt that Dolan-bikes.com is a top notch website and e-shop, and I’ll re-order from them without any hesitation!

Very happy receiving another Dolan bike. Received well ahead of projected time and excellent customer service when I asked specific questions about the product and delivery. The bike was packaged well for a great quality bike. Dolan certainly take an individual approach to every customer which is great. I previously purchased a TT bike which I visited to collect, however due to COVID restrictions, chose to receive this bike in the post. Will definitely purchase from Dolan again.

Just received my Dolan GXA bike last week, and I am really pleased with the Bike after a few hundred miles. A few things I will change with the bike, like the thin bar tape on the bike and possibly the saddle. But the value for money for the spec/quality of the bike is better than I could find anywhere.
Only other point I would make, is the delivery time was over a month for me.

I bought a GXA gravel bike via Dolan.
The advantage of Dolan is that you can assemble the bike according to your wishes.
I am extremely satisfied with their service from A to Z.
In advance I had some contact with Stephen for some bicycle related questions.
He was very quick in answering & gave me the right advice.

I read here some negative comments on delivery times, I can in any case contradict this.
From ordering to delivery in Belgium, this process did not take longer than 10 days. I think there are few, if any, bicycle manufacturers who can do this given the current difficult market conditions.
Once the bike is shipped, you can track your new bike via DPD, this was very nice.
The bike itself is of excellent quality & I recommend it to everyone!

Can't fault them, bought a L'etape frame last year, lovely frame, probably the best road bike I've owned. Just received a GRX alloy gravel bike for my wife, they delivered it to the day quoted, it looks brilliant, too small for me though!!!

Cracking service from start to finish. Bought two Dolan GXT's one for myself and one for my girlfriend.
The guys sourced different stock to ensure the GXT for my other half fitted her perfectly (to which is does).
Definitely worth booking a slot to visit the showroom.
In the visit loads of advice/knowledge was given in order for us to build bicycles perfect to suit our needs/budgets. (5hrs driving but worth it)
They kept in touch with us on build time and had the bikes ready to roll exactly when they predicted.
The Dolan GXT itself is incredible both on tracks and road. Already rode it across cultivated fields, canal towpaths, bridleways and even through a motorcross track!!! Handled it all brilliantly and when back on the road you can really get a shift on (25mph+) and fling off all the mud you have collected whilst out exploring.
Advice, experience, skills and bloody good bicycles Dolan have it all and we are over the moon.

Ordered a bike through a well known company and was let down again and again with false delivery dates and cancelled orders. Managed to get my voucher reissued through cyclescheme and a friend suggested Dolan.
Ordered an RDX which was completely ready to ride when I picked it up. Had to change pedals as I’m a novice , customer service was first class. I’m over the moon with the bike build, quality, and design. Thanks team Dolan.
