I've been to acouple of these events, and they're always run very professionally, in great locations. I've always met a lovely bunch of people at these events, both guys and woman. I'd highly recommend.

Low pressure, fun and organised experience - much better than dating apps! Would recommend.

So myself & 3 of my friends thought we were going to the speed dating event in Balham last night. We got there and the man behind the bar said it was cancelled & it wasn’t the first time this had happened at this venue. We didn’t even know about it or get notified of this via email or anything….

Still not heard anything back from anyone about why it was cancelled & obviously no refund?

The man behind the bar also said it wasn’t the first time they’d cancelled last min..

A refund or explanation would be fair enough wouldnt it…

Back in the day it wasn't that hard to book an event with Dateinadash and actually meet people. In fact, it was not unusual to meet more people at their events compared to other companies. This allowed me to tolerate some of their flaws.

What are those flaws?

Their events can be quite chaotic and disorganised. I was given a scorecard but there were no name badges so it makes it harder to write down someone's name, especially in a loud room. This makes it harder to match with people.

The hosts which I have met could have been more approachable and shown a bit more enthusiasm for the job. Unlike other events I have been to they have a tendency to isolate themselves from the crowd rather than make people feel welcome.

The matching system on their website has issues. Some of the women did not appear on the list to match with. I understand this may be because their details were not provided to the organiser to create a profile. Its possible that some of these were added at a later date but once you submit your matches the website does not allow you to add any more making it impossible to match with these people. A lot of the women also did not have profile pictures - this is a big issue if you have two of them with the same name!

I tolerated all of the above because the other speed dating companies are not perfect. However, more recently they have been cancelling a lot of events and it seems that they can no longer reliably go ahead with the bookings that they take.

The speed dating industry does appear to be going through a challenging time at the moment and other providers have adjusted their event schedules in order to reflect this. It looks like Dateinadash are keeping the number of listed events the same as usual and increasing their cancellations instead. Eventually I got fed up with this and asked for a refund. The owner initially refused a refund citing their terms and conditions as if they were superior to consumer rights law. When I challenged this he agreed to a refund on the condition that they would not accept future bookings and asked me for the last 4 digits of my card number. This was provided to them but after this point I received no further communication or refund. I eventually got my money back by going to my bank and doing a chargeback.

A few points I would like to challenge in the owners response:

- A lot of other companies use name badges to help with the matching process. If you had a decent website where people could easily recognise those who they met then maybe these would not be necessary.
- I don't know for sure if a refund was issued before I started the chargeback process but I did wait a few days for you to reply before doing this. I would consider it reasonable to expect you to reply to indicate that a refund had actually been issued.
- Describing my communication as hostile is unfair considering that you did not reliably provide a service that I had paid for. My initial refund request was politely worded.
- I don't care that you are not willing to accept future bookings as I had no intention of making them anyway. The reason I mentioned it is because I think its important for people to see how you deal with complaints. You obviously have a right to choose who you do business with but I think it reflects badly upon you if that is your preferred way of responding to people.
- It is not unreasonable for reviews to reflect a customers most recent experience with a business. I think most people would agree that any satisfaction from past experiences is irrelevant if the service is not what it used to be. People reading this can decide for themselves but the direction of travel seems clear to me.

Absolutely awful experience. This was a gay speed dating event that got cancelled just 5 hours before the start time after people had already planned their evening around it. Then came the worst part: over two and a half weeks of completely ignoring my emails when I asked for a refund.

Before booking, I had seen other reviews mentioning last-minute cancellations and difficulties getting refunds back. Unfortunately, from my own experience, those complaints turned out to be completely true.

They seem happy to keep posting new events every couple of weeks, but based on my experience, I seriously question whether they ever manage to get enough people for these events in the first place. At this point it feels like they keep taking bookings without being able to properly deliver the events they advertise.

No communication. No apology. No refund. I eventually had to dispute the payment with my credit card company just to try to get my money back.

If you’re considering booking, be careful. This experience left a really bad impression.

Terrible event experience. Avoid this company. They are only interested in taking your money and are not interested in organising a good event.
We arrived at the event, as other people did too, only to be told the event time and location had changed at the last minute. Because of these changes we could not attend the event. We asked for a refund from Rob, the organiser. Still no response. Do not book with this company. If you do make sure to book with a credit card so you can claim your money back through the bank when the event is cancelled, relocated to a different venue or the event time changes

The location was central and in a nice pub just off Piccadilly circus. Was enjoyable and met a range of dates from different backgrounds and enjoyed getting to know them for a short period of time. Would recommend to attend an event and made a nice change to dating apps. Was
Well organized, just be sure to check your emails for any change in venue as the venue can change from that advertised.

Very poor experience with Date in a Dash and I would strongly advise people to be cautious before booking.

My original event was cancelled by the company. Instead of providing a refund, I was automatically rebooked onto another event which I was unable to attend due to the new date/location not being suitable for me.

Despite this, the company refused to refund me and continued to rely on their terms and conditions rather than taking any responsibility for the fact that it was their cancellation which caused the issue in the first place.

I have a full email trail to back all of this up, including confirmation from the company regarding the cancellation and subsequent rebooking.

After looking through other reviews, it appears I am not the only customer this has happened to, which is concerning. Please take caution when booking, as your event may be cancelled and you may then struggle to obtain a refund.

Extremely disappointing customer service and handling throughout.

They don’t give refunds when they cancel events. You can only go to another event, which they can also cancel. I’ve had 5 events cancelled in a row…

I attended a DateinaDash speed dating event and paid extra for the no-match guarantee. I didn’t receive any matches, which is fine, but I had to chase multiple times to redeem the promised gift certificate and still km didn’t receive it for another speed dating event.

Rob, who runs DateinaDash, gave vague and minimal email responses. I followed up several times but didn’t receive a proper resolution. Based on my experience, the no-match guarantee was not honoured.

Customer support was slow, which made the whole process frustrating and not what was advertised. I would suggest being aware that the guarantee may not be straightforward to redeem.

Reading reviews on Google and Trustpilot, it seems DateinaDash has a number of similar issues with customer service, event cancellations and refunds.

I do not recommend it.

The location was changed last minute. I also selected an option for an extra even with additional fee and have not received any vouchers to claim.
The experience was mostly disappointing.

Robs events are superb. Always a great crowd and fabulous venues and DJs. Really good vibe and consistent with outcome. I really enjoy his singles events and glad I found this group 👍

I attended the event on 17 Apr '26 in Picadilly, London. Great, and well-organized event. The venue was nice, and the host did a fantastic job making everyone feel comfortable. The ratio was perfect, and I had some lovely conversations - would definitely come back

Booked an event, got cancelled on the same day, and never been able to rebook another one due to a total lack of communication from the organizer. Very unprofessional.

Last nights even ran effortlessly! The hosts were incredibly welcoming! They were super helpful in how the system works and really strived to allow everyone to enjoy themselves. I had a great time and its definitely a efficient way to meet so many new faces

I attended a gay speed dating event organised by DateinaDash, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. It was my first time going to something like this, so I was quite nervous at the start, but everything turned out well. The venue was lovely and had a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.

I went with my best friend, which helped ease the nerves, and the speed dating itself was well organised and fun. I ended up having a great time, meeting new people, and even making some good connections. After the event, a group of us went out for drinks and food, which made the whole evening even better.

However, I experienced an issue with the matching system afterwards. We were given a link to submit our matches online, but my profile didn’t include the option (the yellow section) to “add matches,” unlike my friend’s. Because of this, I wasn’t able to submit my matches at all.

I contacted both the enquiry email on the website and the event host. They mentioned there was an issue and advised me to try again, but it still didn’t work. I followed up again explaining that I was having trouble navigating the website and submitting my matches, but I haven’t received a response since.

Overall, it was a fun and memorable night, but the post-event process and lack of follow-up support were disappointing.

Attended the Tattershall Castle Event on Friday 03 April.

Rob hosted the event, he was personable, friendly and professional. The event ran like clockwork and very organised.

The attendees were lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend to others. Nice venue!

Avoid this company based on my experience. The event I attended was poorly organised, with people not turning up and last-minute cancellations.

I was told to contact the organiser but received no response to messages or emails. When I arrived at a follow-up event, I was initially told it was cancelled, but it later appeared to go ahead with uneven numbers.

Overall, the experience felt inconsistent and frustrating.

Update: Rob is correct about me attending without obtaining confirmation in advance, this is because all of my calls and e-mails were not responded to, my requests were made before the follow up event I attended was fully booked.

The evening had a good turnout and used a standard speed‑dating format with four‑minute rounds. The Clapham venue, however, felt cramped, and a larger area would be beneficial and improve overall conversation quality.

The other attendees were nice. The organisation was a bit of a mess as we didn't start on time and ended earlier or were asked to "wait" to even out the attendees but didn't get asked to join back and meet the others before the event ended.
