I have lived in this area for nerly 15 years and i have noticed they have now been targeting my car and giving me tickets for stupid petty reasons I have had enough of this broke borough do they think that homeowners and people with blue badges should be constantly be targeted by the stupid parking attendants we do not work just to pay parking tickets and the dumbass attendance know our veichles so i definitely belive they have a vendetta. this is shittest borough ever

The council tax is the highest in London, behind two other boroughs that are much more successful. I have heard from people who work there that there is rampant mismanagement, theft within, and that the money from the council tax is used to service their debt, as they are near bankruptcy again.

croydon council has a history of unscrupulous behaviour. the Fines generated by the un marked traffic restrictions at the end of albion road a known cut through for decades, should be used to hire customer service staff, they removed my 25% tax benefit despite me contacting them and having it all agreed on on recorded calls. ther have no probelm taking money but to provide a sevrice for that money is a fight. they make excuses for failed bin collections. the roads are poorly maintained the traffic light's are still from the 1990's the road marking and road itself leave a lot to be desired. but the council building was rebuilt out of glass with a glass elevator, but staff were using white CRT monitors with an IT infrastructure from the 90s. the council are blatantly stealing money from the people and those responsible should be dealt with instead, the council has declared bankruptcy 3 times since 2020 but manages to still have money for enforcement measures but no for improvement measures

Over £8 for 2h parking on the street. What a disgusting greedy council. Robbing people from the money on every platform. Maybe they should cut them wages and bonuses and try to help people instead take them money for nothing. Sitting behind computer all day thinking what I can do more to take people's money. Disgusting behaviour. Karma will come back.

Rang 3 times just after 9am hoping I will get to speak to someone promptly but was i wrong.
Terrible service ,each time waiting over 15 mins and giving up.
So frustrating, it's they're way of forcing people online.
It should be a choice.

Come to Croydon they said. Exactly near East Croydon station - 2000£ rent for tiny studios where tram bell rings 100 times a day because imb....s jaywalkon on Mickey Mouse zebra cross which in East Croydon is STANDARD behaviour! NO ONE DOES ANYTHING. Everyone thinks that this is normal behaviour. You can't even rest or shut your eyes in tiny studio without the stupid bell going off at some point! Come to East Croydon if you are a fan of dring dring dring dring classroom bell shrilling noise - driving any sane person to a complete MENTAL BREAKDOWN.

I have only lived in this Borough for two months...the worst decision of my life. Since living here I have had to pay out over £600 in traffic fines. Some of the offences that they said I committed was just a black picture, you couldn't even make out my car. Don't even bother trying to contest it as its a waste of time. I have never in all my years of driving (30) received so much as a fine until I moved here. This is the worst place...never mind in England but the whole of Europe to live.Shame on you Croydon Council. You should be proud of being the worst council in the whole of the UK. Wear your crown with pride, as you deserve it!!

Why are we paying for services that don’t exist

I am on assisted bin collection but Croydon council do all they can to not assist.

They’ve changed black bins to communal bins and they are located 500 meters away and I can’t walk

The mp Chris Philp helped me get a black bin again but they say I have a community bin my bin has a padlock

I’ve sent photos so they see my bin they did collect it a couple of times but soon got lazy and stopped

Why are we paying for services that don’t exist?

Fined £80.00 for driving through a residential public road in West Croydon because Croydon council have set it up as a trap to try and raise revenue to pay for their own bankruptcy. I won't be coming back. Truly saddened as I grew up here and we continued for the past 30 years to invest in the place until now.

Getting to this page to give this review and seeing a score of 1.5 actually buttress the experience I just got.
I'm trying to apply for an application, but the process cannot be completed online because their website has hitches. I call the contact number - 020 8726 6000 and have to be in queue for an hour thereabout, the lady who finally picks up talks so rudely, doesn't even listen to the complaint and yet if offering a solution - how will that ever work.
She even hangs up the call ......
This experience is soo irritating, bitter and unprofessional. Wonder how she got a job like this in the first place...very ride human

I live in Croydon for over 10yrs with no Council housing for me, im not even on the waiting list. I am a single mother on benefit and disabled. I have worked 6yrs in a nursing home, completed my msc in nursing but they refused said im disabled. I have asked the council for help financially they refused to help me ive waited 5m and they help refugees. I paid my taxes when I was able to. The Croydon hospital is the worse they casue 2 miscarriages this year and refused medication or treatment. 1 of the worse place to live in. My rents is 1350 Council rent would be 600 fully paid for, they cover 1100 and expect me to fund 250 from uc im struggling with bills, rent arrears god sake. With my health problems and mental health you would think they prioritise people like me. Think again 10yrs waiting and they making excuses. They want you to be homeless and accommodate foreigners I agree with them for being angry and wanting their country BACK!. Lambeth is a better Borough housed my brother within 2 years. I grew up in that Council and moved to this once since going Croydon college for my public health degree. Biggest mistake and regret of my life.

Anti-wildlife and green spaces - hired contractors that thoughlessly decimated a community-maintained wildflower meadow. How can a council hire such mindless vandals - I hope they witheld all payments.

A thieving institution even in Banki Holidays charges people for parking, it's unthinkable, it's one of the few such cunning institutions, they are always short of money, they led to bankruptcy and now at any cost they extort tribute from people for anything.

.I have a big problem with people who come to collect plastic and cardboard they always come to my address they never collect my rubbish and I don't know why I posted a video from two weeks ago when they drove past my house and they didn't want to collect my rubbish and I had to go with the bin after them and today they were or forgot in the bin and they didn't want to collect my rubbish I have footage on RINGO when they come and don't take my rubbish the same thing happens to my neighbour and I would like to know why I pay council tax? why do I pay this amount of money? to make fun of people and not collect the rubbish I have footage I have pictures it's not the first time these people have done something like this and

Today I called Housing Croydon and waited 50 minutes on the phone line, finally when a worker answered the phone I wanted to say what help I needed the line was disconnected. I dialed the same number again and after 45 minutes I gave up the call because this is terrible. Imagine having obligations and being left with the line turned on and you are still seriously ill like me, what would you say. I see that other reviews are also very negative that no one, especially the Croydon Cancellation Tax detective, reacts and finds a solution. I ask for an answer why they don't understand that the employees are there for us!

I wouldn't give 1 star. I live in cr2 area and none of our bins have been emptied this week where as neighbours have been emptied. No reason whatsoever

money grabbing scumbags
got a PCN for driving through a no-entry. this was a 2 way street in 2019 and my satnav was showing it as such.

this is a common practice by councils to catch out drivers such as myself who are unfamiliar with the area

I would advise people to update their satnav software regularly (more money you have to spend) otherwise get a crap PCN letter through the post and pay £65!

Also why is this stupid profile showing as a charity?

The tenancy team at Croydon council are virtually un reachable.
No phone goes through to anything but an answering machine and emails are not responded to.
I have been in the unfortunate position of having to take a bite out of this shit sandwich, the fragrant filling of which is Guy Snowden in more than one occasion now.
A man who signed a promise to help resolve issues at my extremely sick mother’s flat and has done f#%k all but ignore any communication attempts.
I have now had to take over to do his job for him and am finally getting somewhere with the assistance of the company that Croydon outsourced there maintenance to as they actually can communicate but it has taken over a year to get any traction on what should have been a very simple repair job.

Hi I have just opened a letter which is a charge certificate, I can't believe it, as the last correspondence I had was when I appealed the parking fine, explaining about my disability and the reason why this happened, I haven't been very well and this has compounded the situation. Why would the Council just send a charge sheet for £195 I have not got the money its terrible, they can do this without sending a letter to say the appeal had been successful or unsuccessful.

Disgraceful parking fines on roads that are hardly used on a Sunday. Croydon the worst borough ever to lose Westfields, leaving a dump in the town centre and then putting g traps on the roads to catch people out on Sundays. I’m done with Croydon so more business lost!!!
