Great service - happy with the result.

I had to make a claim as I had medical reasons to cancel my entire Antarctic trip prior to departure and Jesse at Covermore was great to deal with and my claim was paid out in full after about 2.5 months minus the excess.

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company. They like taking money from customers but when you need them, it takes them 1 month to reply only to be told they will reject the claim. Even if you are legally (according to QLD government websites) entitled to get compensated, they will refuse to help and blanket everything as “you shouldve have read the terms and conditions”. Even if you have already paid so many ad-ons on top a comprehensive policy.

2026 Argentina Transport Union Strike - covered our expenses

We purchased flights and other travel plans to South America on our Bankwest mastercard, which comes with included basic travel insurance. To ensure we were properly covered, we opted for purchase the more comprehensive version for extra $230, for 2 people, 4 weeks in South America. Lucky we did because there was a transport union stirke in Argentina. Cover more has just covered our claim including additionally and inflated prices for a flight, accommodation, and rental car hire. I am pleased with the outcome and would recommend the upgraded version of cover.

The lights are on but nobody's home - apparently

Took out travel insurance for a trip to Malaysia and my wife got Shingles, so we had to return home early. Lodged a claim with Covermore and supplied all the necessary documentation, but everything went pear shaped when I called to check the progress of my claim.
Phoned their claims department 3 times yesterday, holding on the phone for up to 20 minutes, and was finally told that the person handling my claim was busy, but would call me back that afternoon. That didn't happen so I called again today and was given the run-around. After waiting for 15 minutes for the person who was handling my claim I was told "he' not in today", so I asked to speak to his surpervior but he "wasn't in at the moment". I then asked to speak to anyone in the claims department, only to be told "there's nobody here at the moment". I have taken out travel insurance with Covermore on numberous occasions, and this is the first time I've had a claim. I won't be dealing with them again.

Well Worth Insuring with Cover- More

I don’t usually write reviews, but in this case I absolutely felt I should.

I recently had to cancel travel due to the Longwood bushfires, which destroyed the wedding venue I was travelling to in regional Victoria. It was an incredibly stressful situation, made even more difficult as the airline and booking agent were not able to provide a fair outcome.

I had paid over $800 for my flights, including additional legroom due to a medical condition, and was facing the possibility of losing most of that cost.

I’m very grateful to say that Cover-More assessed my claim under their cancellation policy and reimbursed me for the full amount of my claim, which was an enormous relief.

The process did require some follow-up and documentation, but once everything was submitted, the claim was handled fairly and professionally.

This experience has shown me how important it is to have travel insurance, particularly when unexpected events like natural disasters occur. Without it, I would have been significantly out of pocket.

I deducted 1 star for the complexity of the form, together with the time it took to resolve my claim. .

Thank you to Pauline and the claims team for reaching a fair outcome — it truly made a difficult situation much easier to manage.

Outstanding service

Covermore was very prompt with its assessment and every section of my claim was awarded. Very pleased and impressed. I would recommend them whole heartedly.

One of the worst travel insurer’s I…

One of the worst travel insurer’s I have ever used. I purchased extra travel insurance with covermore at the recommendation of my bank. I had my bag snatched while travelling through South America and had to wait over a month to get an information request from Cover-more for information that I have already provided. They asked for original receipts together with bank statements for all items. They asked for all my travel details for all destinations even though the incident occurred in one city (I was travelling for four months to some 24 different cities). The process has been exhausting and demoralising. I have never have such a difficult experience with an insurer ever. I am still waiting for a response from them and the claim was made almost 2 months ago.

Would give one star if possible. This agency is a complete scam and a cash grab. I lodged a claim in relation to a theft on 14 February and it is now 3 April and I am no closer to getting a response from them. I withdrew my claim and will make it with an insurer under which I have complimentary coverage with my credit card. Slow unresponsive waste of time company.

We purchased travel insurance with…Zuich Cover-More via recommedation from Costco

We purchased travel insurance with Cover-More (Zurich) because it offered both existing conditions and cancel for any reason. At time of purchase I had a minor discomfort in my hamstring. Following, the injury significantly worsened as noted by my provided physician's statements. They refused to pay under existing conditions and only refunded 1/2 costs under "cancel for any reason" Both my physician statements advised NOT to travel and to do so could cause further injury as well as not being able to enjoy the cruise. I have appealed and requested mediation or legal intervention, but have not received guidance on how to proceed.

We had a phone stolen by a pickpocket…

We had a phone stolen by a pickpocket while in Rome. We made a claim, which was relatively easy to lodge and just as importantly was completely sensible and rational in what it asked for. The amount claimed was paid in full (less the policy excess) within a few weeks.

Will never use this company again

Passports were stolen and cover-more are doing everything in their power to NOT pay our claim even though they have been supplied with every supporting document. They do not respond in the time frame that they say they will and then send the same email requesting the same information that they have already sent on several occasions which to me is a deliberate delay tactic.I am now considering contacting AFCA to make a complaint regarding their tactics and lack of action. This claim has been ongoing since 27th January 2026!

ARNAQUE assurance voyage via Mastercard

J’ai pris une assurance annulation voyage auprès de la banque Belfius via Matercard, j’ai du annuler un voyage récemment pour cause d’hospitalisation de mon conjoint et l’assurance refuse de m’indemniser car le paiement de ce voyage (que je faisais avec une amie) a été fait par elle (et bien sûr remboursé par moi auprès d’elle) et pas directement par moi! Deux reclamations a leur service Claim cover ont été rejetées d’une manière que je considère comme injustifiée!

They expected me to have original…

They expected me to have original receipts for some fishing rods that the airline broke. We submitted copy receipts from the tackle warehouse and quotes to get the broken ones fixed and they refused the claim . So before you waste your money thinking your covered ask yourself do you have the actual original receipts for the stuff your taking??? They are scum that don't honor what they sell. Then when you make a bad review some guy called Jason rings you and pretends like they are going to honor your claim if you stop the neg feedback they are really something.

DO NOT USE COVER MORE!! I can’t give a 0 but I would if I could or even lower. Unprofessional staff poor communication and English don’t even know their policies they definitely need training. Beware they avoid paying out even when it’s covered. Rort of a company!!

Lack of Company empathy and equity . . . terrible and untimely review of claims!!!

My spouse contracted a severe case of travelers dysentery while touring the Chao Phraya River during this Holland America excursion from mid-November through early December. Just hours after the hour-long ride on an unprotected and rough ride on the Phraya river (where he most likely inhaled or took from the river's spray) he was fevered. Within hours he became so ill that he was unable t o stand steadily and certainly was unable to take food or water. He and I lost and 4 entire after a visit to the medical room on the Westerdam. Hence we were were unable to actually enjoy cruise from November 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2025 during his recovery time where I assisted with his recovery.
Zurich took over to months to review our claim and we received 1/3 of what we believe was due to us.
I am appalled at the Company's performance and complete lack of customer service, empathy, and certainly equity. DO NOT use this Company when travelling and specifically when you're taking a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Took a while but good result.

We had booked travel to Africa but I had a stroke on 23/8/25 and was unable to travel for health reasons, made the claim to Covermore and the full amount of the claim less the $250
Excess was paid into our account today. Delays were caused by hospital and Doctors reports which were extensive being received and accepted. And by “ an internal processing error” by Covermore. A lengthy process and quite stressful but ended well.10/3/26

Travel plans cancelled..

Our trip was cancelled unexpectedly by the airline, cover more were very helpful in explaining the process to lodge a claim. We received notification quite promptly from covermore regarding our claim. We will use cover more again for any overseas travel.
