The company can approve in firing the whole staff. A lock was put on my storage unit because I wrote a bad review on them three weeks ago. I had a job and needed to get some things out of my storage unit only not able to get in it because the company put a lock on it. When I spoke to the manager the next day she advised she doesn't know a lock was put on my storage

My rental started February 10 2023 it was not verbally announced that they go up every 90 days. I talked with upper management who said at first they don’t do that and the young lady in the office Ashley was not a representation of the company and it is every 6 months then change his tune and double down on her that it is every 90 days. When asked why is my storage going up every 90 days he stated we not like Public Storage or others in the area , He is right they not going up on their prices just Compass. Please do not rent a storage from Companies who practices deceptive practices. Moving out and will Continue to Educate people on their deceptive behavior and if this is or has happen to you call the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau file a complaint.

Maria at the Compass Self Storage in Whittsett,NC is amazing! She was extremely helpful during my entire experience (4/22-6/23). She was always pleasant and helped to facilitate a smooth move out. The units were very clean. I definitely recommend using this site!

I’ve had this unit for just about a year. In that time they have increased the rental fee 2X for a total of $75.00. The sooner I can get out of this storage facility, the better.

BEWARE!!!! this facility has been nothing but a nightmare. First my unit was robbed. There was an ongoing problem and they didn't even have cameras all around the facility. They swore up and down they fixed the problem so I stayed. 6 months later I went to my unit and there were HUNDREDS of mouse droppings! The whole unit was covered and contaminated. They are NEGLIGENT and don't take accountability for their lack of responsibility to offer a protected space. insurance is a joke there too finding ways to pay as little as possible. STAY AWAY FROM COMPASS!!

Leased a unit and the so called air control units, nope for the first week no air some of my electrical equipment has been damaged the team at a local Compass Storage are showing signs of shady activity. Shows really no concern for me the customer. Customer service is lacking very much,

Won units from them at auction. It states in there contract that you can rent the unit, to have longer to clean it out. District manager refused to do tis so I lost the units and money. They will not honor contracts, filling complaint with State Attorney Genarals office. Called and had to leave message at corprate office, have not heard from them.

The management at Compass Self Storage worked with me to arrange a large storage unit, and Frank went the extra mile to ensure every (T was crossed, and (i) was dotted. What a nice, friendly guy Frank is, and has great stories. We start moving in tomorrow, and it looks like it will be a good place to store our stuff. Thanks Compass Self Storage, we're looking forward to a nice stay. So far it's relieved a bunch of stress.

Today is August 5 2022.I called compass storage at 5pm to make sure they were open.I have a disability and I have to take 3 buses to get to Hamilton Ave location. I arrived at 5: 15pm, no one there.I have called customer service 3 times to have someone come to this location to help me with my payment. It is now 6: 08 no one has called to help me. I had to sit on the ground outside waiting for anyone to call back, or come to help me make my payment. 45 min wait outside on the ground in hopes of staff to come and help..truly disappointed..3 buses home, hours lost. this company preys on people who need to store items. they will raise your rate every single time they have the opportunity. anyone who needs storage is much better off selling anything they can to avoid using this company. you can buy new EVERYTHING for the price they charge and the raised rates they perpetually add. just another company trying to extract every dollar they can from their victims

Worst place ever to keep your belongings they go up on rent without notice you can't get in and out of the place without waiting for people to move the woman running it is rude to all white customers and the units are not secure most of my belongings were destroyed due to weather issues.

BUYER BEWARE: If your in the market for a storage unit, PLEASE DO NOT USE "COMPASS SELF STORAGE" anywhere! The places are not only dirty and filled with thick dust on the items every time I would go. Also, the rain will get to them as well and they do not care. I've had to spend hours replacing boxes and repacking those that had been soak. As well, they will go up on monthly prices without contacting you via in writing or email, even though they say otherwise. This happened to me twice; however, I wasn't in a position to move my items. Gosh, I wish I was as the fees and increases are excessive. For example, November rate when up from 72.00 to $139.00. How is this legal? As I could have used the money for a much better cause!

But, they hold your precious items hostage and threaten you with auctioning them off, regardless of the circumstances. The company or employees do not care about us as their customers, instead only the additional money they can exploit from you through excessive fee's and rate increases. I've tried to work out a reasonable solution to the excessive high fees and increased rates that are forced upon us without any form of notice, i.e., I checked both emails and USPS mail. In addition, the District Manager, Scott Evans will not call you back either, so how can a person begin to resolve an issue?
He should be reprimanded severely at the least. First of all, this company does not deserve to be in business, or deserve good customers like us who work hard for our money only to give to them, or they hold your items hostage as they have done to me, twice now. There is just NO recourse with this company and many like them who choose to handle their business like they would a stray animal. More and more US companies are allowed to extort money from us by threats and excessive fees and rates.
Please, do not use them or you will regret doing so! I beg you...

I rented a Uhaul through Compass at the Allison Park, PA location. Initially, I was having a difficult time since I selected the self service option. Although, Kelly jumped in and saved the day! She knew I was struggling and made sure to make my experience has easy and efficient as possible. I truly can't say enough nice things about her and how great of an experience I had. I recommend everyone using this location and hopefully you will be lucky enough to have her! Thank you Kelly :)

I rented storage unit at #255 Allison Park, Pa this week.
As soon as I opened the door Kelly behind the counter greeted me immediately with a smile. We discussed what I was interested in and she showed me the different locations. Then came back to office and I asked if any storage available in a certain location. She didnt think so but said she would check and here she found one that was perfect.
I would recommend Kelly - Compass to everyone looking. She took her time, explained all paperwork to me and helped me happily when I had questions.

Rented 2 storage units but realized I would not be able to insure 1 of them for more than $5000. I contacted multiple companies, including the company that Compass Storage uses, but to no avail, they all said no insurance above $5000. This was never disclosed to me, perhaps because I had a home owners policy. I sold my home and the policy will be null and void at the end of July. I purchased renters insurance, but it also will not cover storage units. Because of this I had to rent a PODS storage unit so I could purchase the insurance I needed. I rented the storage unit form Compass on Sun. July 4, and let them know on Tues. July 6, that I would not be able to use the storage. I never put a lock or even saw the unit, but Compass refused to refund my money. I am very disappointed in the business practice of Compass Self Storage. I will continue with the remaining unit I have with them only because I will loose that money too if I don't. I will not recommend this company which is sad because the initial experience with them was good.
