Just closed my account with no explanation after recently upping my spending allowance. No reason, extremely poor correspondence. Avoid this company at all costs

tried to open a new account with them as my old card number from 7 YEARS AGO is connected to my old account and it keeps asking me to verfify the first 4 digits. called my bank they advised they shouldnt be asking this as it classed as fraud anyways and they cannot even give me my old account numner.
been emailing them for three days now back and forth, they have decided to change my email when this wasnt even the issue? I have explained to them 5 times.. i do not have access to my old card or old number but i have access to my email address on the account I also sent a bill to confirm my address and ID - they have asked me for this three times after this. why isn't this on record?
so in a nutshell, cant get into my account, they wont reset what I need and wont let me open another one

Efficient and easy. Just make sure you keep track of your payments as if you use different retailers you don't always see it on clearpay statement.

Need to log in as I changed cards so payment details didn’t go through for a purchase and I wanted to avoided late fee. Forgot password and reset asks me for first six numbers of a card I know longer have.
No way to speak to a human and email takes ages to get a response (fee will be added if not paid within 24 hours).

Totally illiterate and abusive people on the help desk. I told them to close my previous clear pay account due to lost phone and having no access to previous email and activate my new clear pay account. I emailed them 3 times. They were asking details of previous account and then they closed my new one and saying I can use my previous one. Now they blocked me from contacting from all my devices. The people who told them to do this has taken my phone and blocked me from everything.
Been using this app for years suddenly…
Been using this app for years suddenly placed an order through sport direct but it didn't go through. But yet clear pay have took the charges and are still proceeding to tru to take charges from an order that doesn't exsist on the merchants side as the app for this business is so awful and lagging its caused a serious technical issue. I have reported to fraud team as this is literally ther definition of fraud caused through your apps technical faults won't change my star rating till this is cleared up.

I was very happy with clearpay and had
£900 +in credit all payments up to date then 2 weeks prior to Christmas the clearpay page stopped working and I have been unable to buy anything...yet the page still works to receive payments 🤔
I got tired of unhelpful messages and no human to speak to.
I will stay with klarna.
Beware customer no service
Due to no fault of my own I missed a few payments ( I'll point out these payments where all in the same week) due to my bank account and card blocked as a precaution but when I got a new card and my account was unblocked 2 days after the payments where missed I paid the full balance off well now clear pay have marked it down as 3 late payments so when I try to use this service I'm blocked tried to contact clearpay using the live chat and managed to be contacted twice by 2 differant people who both just ignored the facts given to them and still up hold that it's a late payment let alone refuse to repay the late payment fee taken

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - Getting in touch is impossible, I have been trying to get a matter resolved which has now gone into the 3RD DAY. I have attempted to contact over various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, their in app live chat (supposedly live chat) and they reply at 5:18am or midnight!! When I go to reply when I wake up in the morning at 8-9am there is no reply for over 24 hours later! For a company that is suppose to deal with delicate matters, you would of through their customer service would be better, it's non existent and getting in touch is ridiculous. It's caused so much stress, BEWARE

I tried to register with clearpay, only to be told I already had an account with them and to log in. I do not have an account with them, and couldn't log in. I contacted them by email, and after 3 emails later I received the same email over and over again, which didn't resolve anything.
There is no telephone contact for them!!! I am now left wondering who is using my account with my details it seems. Quite concerning.

Wouldn't give it one star. These people have robbed me out of money a few times. They haven't taken money out if my account that was agreed too. A company had refunded me and they took near enough all my money. Please look at you're accounts and keep an eye on what money they are taking and you're refunds. This company needs to be reported. They have no right to steal people's.money

Like the other review said, all is good until you have a problem with the vendor refusing to cancel ann order and after not receiving item . I believe clearpay should be reported to the financial ombudsman for their involvement with scam companies .
Looks can be decieving
This company is great, until you have a dispute with one of the merchants then they don't want to know, I bought a drill from Debenhams using clear pay I paid for express delivery and didn't receive the item, not only is it impossible speak to an actual person at Debenhams but it is just as impossible to speak to a person at clear pay, I'll never use this company again they refuse to stop the payments coming out so have had to go through my bank to block them, if you open a dispute all they say is basically nothing to do with them contact the merchant..which as stated is impossible to do
2000£ credit limit
My account is 3 years old, I have a credit limit of £2000, i always spent responsibly i never occurred any late fees, never had any dispute, recently i had an
Order that was lost due to the courier mistake.
1- the courier admitted in writing and advised to seek further option from the seller,
2-the seller offered a refund in writing, however they have not proceed with it.
I have reported this to ClearPay thinking they ill take care of it and to my surprise they have closed the dispute TWICE in less 72 working hours, in The Favour-of the merchant saying they have complied with their merchant terms and conditions and no Refund is due?? now checking the term and condition they referring to it says the following:
CLEAR PAY AND MERCHANT TERMS AND CONDITION
——2.2. Obligations in respect of Clearpay Purchases—
(b) Subject to clauses 2.2(c) and 2.2(d) of the General Terms, where your Customer makes an online Clearpay Purchase, you are responsible for ensuring that all Goods are Delivered to the Customer promptly.
(f)You are responsible for your supply of Goods to your Customers and ensuring that appropriate insurance policies are in place for your Delivery or supply of the Goods to your Customers.
———-Payment, returns and refunds by Customers—-
(d)If you agree with your Customer that you will provide them with a Discount, or agree to Refund any
part of the Sale Price for any reason, in respect of any Goods:
if we have made a payment to you in respect of those Goods, you will be liable to us for the amount of that Discount or Refund on the applicable Payment Date and we may recover those sums in accordance with clause 3.1(d) of the General Terms;
(iii) Clearpay will: (A) cancel any future payments due by the Customer to Clearpay in relation to the Goods purchased from you; and/or (B) refund to the Customer any amounts paid by the Customer to Clearpay in relation to the Goods purchased from you,
Despite the above CLEAR-PAY enforce their terms and condition on the customer ONLY even if the merchant at fault, so technically when you placing an order through CLEAR-PAY you doing so at your own risk,
Unlike through any UK Bank, Klarna or Paypal.
If i provided my proof to any of the above institutions a refund will be recovered 100%, but With ClearPay NO
They simply support the merchant always at any cost, they do not comply with their own terms and condition and their famous sentence is “Clearpay is not responsible for lost orders”
however they do not mention to you that according to their terms and condition published online this specific rule applies both sides not just the customer!!!!
Do not use
As many have stated already. If you cancel an order, expect less than half back. I cancelled an order within 24 hours after realising I made an incorrect measurement. Amazon refunded the whole amount, they credited my card with £19, when the down payment was £41. That’s £22 literally taken with no explanation, no way to get it back. Already went through the ‘help’ part in app. There’s nothing you can do to get the full refund back. So I think it works until it doesn’t. If you cancel an order, expect to lose 50+% of the down payment. That’s theft if you or I did it.

Nasty business. Do not buy though this scam. They will not refund! Try it and find out the wrong way!!

3 days before xmas bang clearpay decide to knock £450 off my £900 credit ! Xmas ruined! Complained got the £450 back again only to be declined on anything I tried to buy why give me my credit back again ? Now I have £850 in credit but can't use it! What's the point in having it! DO NOT RELY ON CLEARPAY LEFT US IN A BAD WAY 3 DAYS BEFORE XMAS THANKS CLEARPAY
