Lots of things, changed my email address, it has caused mayhem. They tell me to do something a certain way, I do it and it never works. FED UP.

I still haven't had any impact like refunds had multiple refund you need to contact salayer not clearpay or extra time to pay bill but that limited. (Think 4 x max half year)
I like custom pay because I get payed weekly salary it's Easyer

Don't trust Clearpay for refunds

Clearpay are terrible.

I was issued a refund from a retailer back in December 2025 and it wasn't until recently i discovered the refund wasn't received in my account after checking my statement.

I have been going back and forth with the retailer and Clearpay about where this refund is.
The retailer had provided me with evidence that they processed the refund accordingly so when I went back to Clearpay and challenged them, they told me they couldn't resolve a dispute older than 120 days and that i need to go back to the retailer.

I will be contacting my bank and escalating my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.
The staff I had been communicating with at Clearpay seem very unprofessional and incapable - they don't seem competent enough to resolve issues that require even a basic level of expertise.

Won't be using Clearpay anymore.

Not happy about them adding “£6 late fee”
When I asked the customer service about extending the date as they’ve only put dates that I don’t get paid on, they said they can’t do anything about it. Now they’ve added £6 late fee for a day that I don’t get money. Ridiculous! I’m not using Clearpay again. Klarna is better as they give you more time to extend, unlike Clearpay…🙄

Useless

Useless, data mining company, selling data is highly profitable. Provisional credit limits are not credit limits at all. If you trust politicians, you are going to love this company. They share exactly the same degree of integrity.

Refunded £3.99 instead of £25.67 i paid

I bought a renewed Pc from Amazon for £81 through Clearpay, unfortunately the Pc did not work and after getting in touch with Amazon they said to get rid of the Pc and they would refund the £81 back to Clearpay, now Clearpay thinks its ok to only give me £3.99 back from the £25.67 i paid them, how can they do that?, You wouldn't go to a shop and buy a £25.67 item of clothing then when you get home and try it on it doesn't fit return it and only get £3.99 back so how are they getting away with this. They are ripping customers off and basically don't care.

Terrible

Terrible. Will be dumping them as soon as I get my refund, which they are deliberately being bloody minded over. Will never use again or recommend. Just the Oposite in fact.

My personal opinion is that are scammers,the most confusing part with Clearpay is that are unstable and unreliable,I open new account verify my identity and got a starter limit of 300£ but every time I was trying to buy something it was saying that they can't approve the payment,

Blocked me out of my account over £3.49

Blocked me out of my account, when i finally realised months later asked why and was told that i owed money?? Found out it was a final payment owed which didn't go through due to it be charged to an old dormant bank account.
clearpay never informed me of this even though they had my email address & phone number.Upon realising this paid the outstanding debt straight away & updated new bank account details.
Contacted clearpay & explained what i had happened, apologised but also asked why they never contacted me over the situation......?? Asked them to unlock my account.

They response was...Because of your debt to us you are no longer welcome to use our service nor will you ever be able to again in the future....Blacklisted.

A little taken aback, shocked & surprised by this i replied..."Ok that's fine i'll take my custom where i am not treated like this & i'm appreciated so please close my account.

The debt is owned clearplay......£3.49.

To sum up......Disgusting company that treats it's customers like dog dirt on shoes.Just read the reviews on here and if you've never used them.......Trust us all unfortunate, angry & upset people who have on here & "There are THOUSANDS OF US", read carefully are reviews and avoid them like The Plague!!!! :( :( :(

This is my last time …!
Their 4 repayment is actually over 1 month… how evil can that be ???? Had a £365 repayment paid 91.25 8Feb and the next one is 22feb and 8march and 22march!!!! That is a total evil they make the 4 repayment look like over 4 months or at least 3 months meanwhile it over 1 single month …. When Klarna offers same over 3 months that is ease and peace

The most DISGUSTING customer service…

The most DISGUSTING customer service process I have ever had to deal with. I would actually go as far as saying abusive and narcissistic.

I have been a very long standing customer of Clearpay and have always had good experiences with them in the past up until recently. It seems over the last few months they have started to care LESS about their customers. Now, whenever you need to raise a complaint about a refund or a merchant, they literally tell you they don’t care. They aren’t part of the FCA so you don’t have any come back at all; and they heavily play on this. But unfortunately for them, they WILL be being regulated very very soon.

I struggled to get hold of a merchant whom I had returned an order to for over 3 weeks. None of my emails were being answered and I was concerned I would never get my money back. So, as Clearpay don’t care, I raised a dispute for one payment of this order with my bank in the hopes Clearpay would actually do something. In that time, the merchant finally refunded me. As soon as that happened, I cancelled the dispute with my bank. Clearpay had since witheld the refund from me due to the chargeback with my bank, which I completely understand. However, when it came to me getting that money back from them… ABSOLUTE HELL!!! They first would not accept screenshots from my bank (Monzo) stating the chargeback had been cancelled. I was told it had to be a formal letter outlining this. Then when I managed to get that from Monzo, they said that wasn’t good enough and that it needed to specify the money was reversed. Which I had already outlined wasn’t the case as Monzo had NEVER withheld any funds from them. In that time, I’ve received emails from about 10 customer service reps all saying different things. I’ve had the most gaslighting, abusive email from someone in customer service basically telling me my account might be closed unless I can explain why I raised a chargeback and give detail as to how I promise I won’t do it again. DISGUSTING. I am yet to hear if the final letter I’ve provided them with is enough to get my money back from them that they are illegally withholding. At this point, I think they are clearly a very abusive company and I will be thinking twice about using them ever again.

These corporations need to be boycotted and the only way that happens is if we all stand up for ourselves and demand better and take our business elsewhere.

Fabulous.

I've had dozens of orders through clear pay, always great, refunds are issued quickly. Saved me on many occasions when I've not had enough to cover the full price for things.

Just wish they'd hurry up and fix the issue with amazon disappearing from the app.

Took my money - didn't pay the merchant. No rug for Lisa!

I wanted a rug. I used Clear Pay because I needed it quickly but am a bit skint. The transaction with Wayfair failed. I found the money had been taken from my account by clear pay. So I paid for something, but no order.

Clear Pay is manned by the usual suspects - people who don't read or understand what your Issue is unless it fits into their scripts. You get the usual pre-scripted replies while you try to phrase things in a way they will comprehend.

They can't refund me for reasons best known to themselves so I can't order another rug.

I have provided them with all the evidence and yet they (who?) are having to review it all.

It seems we are very much at the mercy of the robots and other tech. Wayfair can't do anything - they can't cancel a non-existent order. Apparently it is called a ghost order, so not unknown - but they have no protocols or systems to override it.

So this bad review is for the utter uselessness of a company that has allowed technology to take over completely.

I am being pinballed between Clear Pay, Wayfair and the bank. Of course, the humans can't do anything.

I now can't buy a rug anywhere in case this order does eventually go through. As the postage is an eyewatering £45, I have no desire to be charged for that twice and face the hassle and expense of having to return one of them. So, I wait for the robots to make a decision. I am really fed up and will never use Clear Pay again, not because of the initial problem, but because of their inability to do anything about it.

Somebody has use my clearpay account to…

Somebody has use my clearpay account to ordered stuff and they want me to pay for it i reported to the police and they have told me they cannt do nothing because they dont know who has done it and closed the case.
I have got a new email address now and it has been pasted by Clearpay and i had £950 of credit and now they have closed that account down.This is going back to 2024 and i know nothing about it.
I wouldnt trust Clearpay ever again.

Terrible company and it’s impossible to get through to them I placed a order on Amazon on the 9th of January 2026 and the order has not came through but they have taken payment from my bank account and are going to continue to take further payments until my order is paid off however I haven’t received any orders or a confirmation of a order I spoke to Amazon who said they have no received any payment from clear pay avoid like the plague
